Still an achievement, though. I can't imagine how can one win that fight where the party falls into a pit filled with gnolls at the first try.

I also rolled until I got some solid characters (at least two attributes maximized, the rest also above average) and indulged myself with max hitpoints per level. The hardest part is the beginning, until level 7-9 or so. The first battle with the gnolls outside the knights' keep might be one of the hardest in the entire game, because no matter how well you play, if you get a chain of unlucky rolls you get overwhelmed and lose. But once you have enough levels to survive heavy hits and craft cloaks of displacement, you stomp everything.

I think I finished a few more of those short shareware things in the early 90's but can't remember them. Had I more access to RPG's in the early 90's I probably would have finished far more. Even when I did have access they were available only on 3.5 inch disks and my XT couldn't attach such a drive so I missed out. Later I had a short period in the late 90's and early 2000's when I had a bit of time and finished a few of the big titles of the day.


There are notable omissions here of course, but I can't in all conscience include things like BG or MM6 or PS:T even though I was 90% or more finished with them as I lost my saves and didn't have the time to try again. As it is, my list makes me look more like a twitch gaming popamole faggot than I am!

How strange that I'm almost like a parallel world version of Jaesun, (only no homo?) except in this world he has finished all the games that I've just went partly the way through. Which is annoying as none were due to choice. The fact that I finished so many turds shows that I tend to stick it through to the end just to give a game a chance(a few times it actually happened that a seeming turd actually became a good game the more I went into it). Maybe eventually I'll get around to doing them. Definitely I'll go through them if the KS hope turns to despair.

Also it seems that most Codexers have pretty much finished the same classics and turds. Nothing really 'out there' in the lists.
