Btw I just remembered the last shitty RE movie that came out (the one where they casted a fucking black chick as Jill). At the end of that movie Claire STOLE Jill's iconic moment from RE1 and whipped out a rocket launcher to destroy the big bad. That is 100% a Jill thing and they had Claire do it. That might be my most hated movie of all time now that I think about it.

That's not a Jill thing at all, it's a classic Resident Evil thing. They all potentially end with a rocket launcher VS a Tyrant. RE1 Chris or Jill both do it. RE2 Leon & Claire both do it. RE3 Jill.

The character. They nailed the character. Jill is supposed to be like the Martin Riggs of the RE universe. A no nonsense, hard boiled, borderline suicidal ass kicker and they nailed that part of her character in the latest movie, and the sass, and the sexiness. Meanwhile they turned Claire into a hippie who is trying to save the whales LMAO.
And don't get me started on Leon. He's just a comical anime shitbag at this point, like a character out of Dragon Ball Z.

The last couple of years I have only glanced at the majority of cutscenes and video game conversations while doing something else, usually on my phone, since so many games now pause when you click out of the window. Some cutscenes I have even skipped. Resident Evil cutscenes aren't among those, but while I enjoy the experience of playing through those stories in a way that I can't with so many of the other pretentious movie games (Not just movie games, though. I don't fully pay attention to Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's teardrop memories either. Well, that's movie game shit in a game that isn't.) that don't want to leave you alone and just play, I also don't regard any of the characters in Resident Evil that highly. They could end the series and start over with a new cast of characters in a different survival horror and I wouldn't care. Watch movies all the time and enjoy television shows too. But video game stories and their girls are mostly whatever. The priorities are messed up and creativity and taste isn't there in the writing department.
That's pretty much what they did with the mainline series. Well the classic characters show up in cameos here and there. Fine games but the new characters are about as boring as it gets. Ethan Winters might as well be a silent protagonist.
