Wierd, I thought the policy was to never delete stuff and only send it to Retardo Land. I must be reading a different staff forum.

Does that mean the entire thread gets banished?
Or can you just banish parts of it?

Just asking...cos if its always the former then it will be incredibly easy for certain *ahem* people to derail a thread that they don't like, in the hope of it getting locked down and removed.

Well, I've had my ups and downs, but I try to improve. I'm still not sure how anyone can honestly get mad at me for removing that link. People DO get in trouble for clicking on stuff like that.

I'm not mad, it's just that being tubgirled like that didn't feel like being tubgirled. It's like an inverted rite passage for those of us who've already been tubgirled. It makes you feel like a newb again and brings back memories of greener days. Well that's just my feelings about it.

I can't believe I've read all 23 pages of this thread.

At several points throughout this thread I wanted to post a response, but after bludgeoning myself with the whole thing I don't know if I can put together a coherent argument for or against anything. The one thing I do know is that there were several good posts worth replying to and if I had the patience I would go back and find them to do just that. Unfortunately, it's almost 1am, I'm recovering from a nasty cold, and I have to be up in about four hours to get ready for work. If nothing else, I can at least say I'm dedicated to reading the Codex. :D I guess the only thing left is for someone to denounce my off-topic post to increase their post count and start a flame-war.

Seriously though, I'm with Major_Blackhart, has anyone heard from Troika yet? I've only played one of their games, Arcanum, but I enjoyed it and was at least interested in their other titles even if my machine can't run them. My main point was going to be about the shame of losing another independent developer in the current climate of corporate mergers (hold onto your hats folks, there are a lot more giants banding together in the future, especially in media distribution and telecommunications) it's nice to see small dev houses make a run for it in an over-saturated market, especially if they are willing to do something other than copy whatever mega-hit title is currently on sale. Whether you like, dislike, or are indifferent to Troika, the fact remains that while there are independent development houses there's at least a chance something different will make it to the market and it will be something you like.

So, Ex, when someone you dont like posts a link to tubgirl, you are suddenly Holy, but when Nicolai(who you unbanned) sends PM's with gaping anus'es, you just say "Welcome to the Codex"?

At least try not to be so obviously hypocritical, please?

Will someone educate this inquiring mind?

In regard to what Dark Underlord did, it was beautiful, and that's what tubgirl is all about - making someone to click on that link. He got me, he got Spazmo who as I recalled posted "I can't fucking believe I clicked on that link", and he got a bunch of other people too. The best part the url wasn't even hidden, it was in plain fucking sight. That was the best tubgirling evar. The man deserves an award or something.

Okay, yes I'm new here. Thanks.

First off, it's been an interesting 23 pages. I don't know why I read them, but I have.

The DarkUnderLord rules, I didn't know about tubgirls but I sure do now, he sucked me in, pity it was deleted because I thought it was a peice of work. Oh well, I think that was Sunday night.

I won't be so naive as to just jump in here with all of you persanlities, person al it , person. fuckit , peoples, so I'll just ask a few stupid questions.

TB means Turn Based ala FO ala Fall Out. I'm sure this is all in the FAQ if I could find it. Slam.

RT probably means Real Time, for example, Diablo? (I'm sure that's an evil word here, I agree).

So, the one term I couldn't figure out was, 'Phased'. PC? If so, then I think it's pretty cool, but tedious at times. I'm playing BG2 for the first time in my life.

I think I spent about twenty hours assumng that everyone was on the same initiative. Boy, was I wrong (I mean 'Kid'). Once my hard drive crashed, started playing again and figured out how to 'pause' after every round, THEN reailze that everyone's running on their own time, I started making headway.

I'd just like a definition cleared up, (I understand your swear words and everything), but is BG2 a prime example of 'Phased'? When you automatically 'Pause' after every round and every round isn't really a round, it's like everybodies round?

Cause I like it.

Sincerly,

CreamyBlood

I think you got everything right there, maybe except Diablo being an evil word, I think some guys here like/liked it, not as an RPG (should it be an or a RPG?) but as an action game.

WELCOME!

just saw this over at Gamespot and suddenly Activisions activities lately make more sense. It looks like they may have pulled the rug out from under Troika due to the fact that Activision itself is finding itself facing some serious internal issues.

I would just like to say that Arcanum is one of the best RPG's I have ever played. Despite all its flaws (combat...), it was probably the most revolutionary CRPG to come out in the last 5 years.

Is there anything on Troika's fora or press page? It seems odd they'd be quiet so long, but perhaps other developments have occurred while we've been waiting? I hope it's good news.

Holy Snickerdoodles! This means that probably EA will be the only viable publisher left, except for maybe Beth and a few others (Atari).
