Thoughts on PS5 vs PC version?

I own it on PS5 already and played it a bit but I got sucked into Bloodborne and then a whole series of Fromsoft games. I’m now ready to give it another go and it’s cheap as hell on Steam. I vaguely remember getting pissed as hell at lockpicking on PS5 but the internet says it’s been fixed. Am I going to run into more wonky shit on console? Any mods that make the PC version a no brainer? Is the overall experience noticeably better on PC?

PS5 version is limited to PS4 Pro standard, so 1080p, 30fps, lowend graphics, no mods, no mouse. Benefit of PS5 is in its SSD which makes loading faster and less pop-in than original PS4s.
But if you have decent PC go with that.
Lockpicking is difficult on controller first few levels, once you improve the skill it gets easy. There is an option in menu to enable simplified lockpicking for controllers.

I refuse to dilute the experience.
It actually improves it.
You haven't beaten the game if you used the bush collision or master strike remover.
Simple as.
I beat the game once normally.

Now I have 69 mods, used a trainer to beast out all my stats, and I can't go two feet without running into a group of 10 cumans which I devastate with an AK47.

That last part was a joke. If you find a good gun mod, please link.

I know I'm late to the party, but I gotta ask, is there anyone on this forum who doesn't adore this game?
If so, we need to make a list and bully them all off the forum.

I've reached the siege, and have put the game on hold for a month or so. In my opinion this shit is going one for too long for its own sake. It should have ended with Vranik, not only it is stupid to give the player more errands on a map that he has scoured many times already but the plot makes no sense :
There is no way that Sir Divish armies going to Talmberg to Vranik wouldn't have met or heard of the baddies going from Vranik to Talmberg on the same day.

The games shines for its atmosphere, sense of details, story, and emergent situations. All in all its systems are overall mediocre and while they do the job, stretching the story so much only brings up the cracks at the seams. It's annoying because I know that when I'll foster enough motivation to finish it, I'll do away with the Band of Bastard and tourney expansions.

Wasn't it a very small force took the keep by trickery? They had some time in between beating up Henry and Vranik siege iirc

The whole point of the game was to be realistic. Not liking the implementation is one thing but wishing the game didn't follow its stated purpose is retarded.
Yeah, masterstrike spamming and being locked into an autistic combat camera sure is realistic.

I'm talking about the intention. The execution is a different question.
Right, but the core of the issue is that they focused on the wrong parts of realistic medieval combat:
All these fancy moves you can execute were never meant to be used against someone in armour(which is what you face most of the time), and half swording is a glorified combo, which makes little sense.
Polearms are also badly undercooked, even though they are very powerful (and feel cool to use when you can, if a bit too strong).

Kingdom Come: Deliverance should have ended with the battle of Pribyslavitz, in which Henry personally defeats and slays Runt and regains his father's sword. A large portion of the later content, such as the investigation into counterfeit coins, could have been slightly reworked and made available earlier. However, it was a dreadful mistake to tell the player the princess is in another castle the sword is in another bandit camp, so that the player can be drawn into a buggy monastery quest line, followed by an investigation of the second bandit camp and battle in that camp, only to discover some of the bandits have escaped and captured Talmberg castle resulting in a prolonged siege quest line, among other extraneous content.

Nah it shoulda ended with the massacre of Skalitz, Henry among the slain

Main story sucked however you look at it, probably because of the change of plans; story was supposed to be the first part of a trilogy but they ended up stretching it to make it a big open world gaym on its own + not to mention for the 37th time: the lackluster main character factor. We'll see how Henry fares in the sequel as a main character; this time with a facelift and utilizing Hans as a much bigger crutch.

Well, it's hard to say because the game doesn't keep track of time but Henry did saw the whole army when he entered Vranik. He escaped the same night and went straight to Rattay then Talmberg, arguably the same day. The Rattay troops rushed to Vranik so the bandits must have left meanwhile. Even if Henry was an ass and slept the whole day instead of warning Divish it is surprising a whole army could have crossed the land without raising suspicion. I guess the concept of scouts was too complex to implement too.
However it is coherent with the background trend that Hanish and Divish are idiots who can't rule their land for shit (and in one case not even his own bed).

Imagine if they made something like the Half Sword mechanics instead. It would have been so gud.

I am not so sure. I think the "physical simulator" don't really work because the UI becomes a real hindrance. But I think games like Hellish Quart (but it is more of a 1v1 brawler, though, so it would not translate well) work better. It makes distance feels more important, and allow blade 'locking". Games like Mordhau/Chivalry 2/For Honor could probably work too (aas a good compromise between gameplay and authenticity)/
One really weird thing in KCD is that you cannot dodge and parry at the same time, while in real exchanges, your footwork would be a significant part of the parry.

I mostly don't (much) like games that are focused on realism, so I won't be playing this one likely. Bully away ;)
PS: But I wouldn't dare to call it a bad game. I believe the praise I've heard about it is justified. It's just that I want fantasy, sci-fi, or at least something exotic in my games. Realism usually doesn't cut it for me, and the setting in this game is one I grew up with.

I agree with that. Although I even did some medieval LARP myself, I couldn't get myself to finish this game, and reading about the open ending and the monestary quest I'm almost glad I didn't ;)!
