Warhorse is now owned by Koch Media (apparently renamed as Plaion) from Germany. So it isn't that weird to say some corpo decided that bending the knee is a safer course of action. It will still take some more time for developers and publishers to realize the tide is turning and the whole woke/ESG/DEI thing is not worth the money and effort (assuming they won't be deluding themselves it is important for good PR). I also wouldn't discount the corpos' fear of any negative PR in general (this means criticism from activists and game journalism).

I get it, I am just saying that if you expect some kind of self-flaggelation or making excuses, explanations or apologies, you are likely to be disappointed. Wherever the decision came from or whatever the motivation, it is what it is.
Unless of course Warhorse literally unearthed some document that made the the guy's presence in the area plausible and not including him would be ahistorical. But how likely is that? I do not think very.

But to be honest, given how no-fucks-given troll Vávra is online (see above) I would not be surprised if the decision to include the guy came from him simply because he wanted to do it, to troll people
