And I disagree with the notion that KCD is some "niche" game that should not sell. I mean, it is a first person open world RPG with great graphics. Pretty much the definition of mass market appealing game.
Mass "market appeal" is more complicated than that.

An outlier is always a possibility, but you have to agree that the odds are stacked against Warhorse. From a business perspective, this is a high risk, low return kind of a project. Since it is kind of an untapped potential, there is the slim chance that suddenly it will sell tons of copies (see
Legend of Grimrock).
