And it's no longer an enigma to me why good people have mostly left the game industry. Vavra is probably one of the last dinosaurs. Now I'm trying to do the same for Kingdom Come but it's proving difficult as literally every thread is derailed by people who see it as their plight to inform others on the 'problematic and toxic' studio founder, even in threads created to discuss trailers or gameplay.

I am really curious what that "Kingdom Come policy" the mods posted about will be like. Shinobi must be in cognitive dissonance hell, he wanted a place to talk about videogames and it turned into Witchhunt Central. I know he is looking forward to Kingdom Come himself, maybe they will make it a rule that threads about the game and its mechanics should not get derailed..at least something.

When it comes to politics, Vávra is classical liberal. As in, small government involvement in people's lives, low taxes, as much freedom as possible. I agree with that, personally. Of course, he did retweet some dumb shit, but so what. It's fucking twitter.

I don't know anything about his political views and can't pretend that I do. He is educated and wise enough, from what I've read from him, to have his own views, without falling into any particular category or camp.

There is no reason to worry about serious and realistic games becoming extinct - as long as the audience is there, the supply will be there. Personally, I am ready to spend 4-5 times as much on games that treat historical reality seriously and can even be called vehicles for learning, or sparking an interest to learn, about a particular time period. Instead of one such game a year, I'd buy 4 or 5, if anyone was making and releasing them (that's coming from a guy who spent over 100 euro on War In The East/War In The West last year). So if anything, the market is underdeveloped.

Probably gonna get the game knowing Vavra's views. Why? Because I love the idea of a non-fantasy medieval RPG and I just want to play it. Will wait for reviews/impressions, though.
