Yes Dexter Do you think it's likely a bunch of natives wrote the entire game in perfect, fluent, professional English? [...]

It's hard fo me to believe any non-native English speaker is capable of producing this level of writing but apparently I'm wrong. :salute:

You're not wrong. They are using John Comer as their English writer and reviewer. Vávra talks about it here.

Hello XXXXX,

Right now Czech Voiceovers are not available at all. Maybe this option will be available later. If we will have Czech voiceovers, this will be a translation from the English original. The production of the game is made in a mixture of Czech and English.

Best regards,

Wait, the game was originally written in English? In the credits the entire writing team are clearly Czechs.

What's up with that Smejki?
Massive majority of people will play it in English, probably better to not have them play a shitty translation.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I like jeff Vogel's quote in one of his blog about witcher 3 's similar controversy

Ignorant idiots basically lumping people of different ethnics, culture and geographical location into 1 category: white people.

Basically what martin luther king jr. Fought against. Ignore all socio-cultural and upbringing people have, and categorize/judge them by the color of their skin.

Yesterday info from IGN Czech - KCD sells 1500 copies each day, Warhorse made over 1 mil. dorra on the pre-orders.

No idea how reliable this is. It's IGN after all.

Could be pretty accurate especially that there's nothing decent to play till april, also I think the game will sell better than expected.

That's true... where 's stands for was. It's faster by now
The numbers are easy to extrapolate from steamSpy BTW. Subnautica sold about 200k copies in 14 days with more or less constant speed, sitting at 2nd or 3rd place in full price top sellers the whole time. We've got to their position.. 2 days ago? If we keep similar tempo, we could hit 100k preorders on Steam alone. Not bad. Wish us luck.

Yes Dexter, yes I know

But for the third time - the entire writing team are Czechs. Do you think it's likely a bunch of natives wrote the entire game in perfect, fluent, professional English? My English is bretty gut but being able to write professionally (and in a very high quality as is the case of KCD) is a very different playing field.

It's hard fo me to believe any non-native English speaker is capable of producing this level of writing but apparently I'm wrong. Maybe our small nation has produced a few supertalents who are able to write in English on the highest professional level. :salute:

Had somehow hoped they would offer a version that uses a micture of Czech and German, but already expected them to go the globalist route. The English voices completely suck, I could already puke just from the videos. But whatever, it's a popamole game anyway, and if I hadn't backed this crap because of Vavra I wouldn't follow it at all. It could be a few hours of fun until reality sets in that this isn't really a game, and you're just watching a movie as with any popamole game.

Haven't you played the demos? You walk around, select retarded dialog from a three choice menu, while looking at the incredibly dumb faces with pretentious English.

You can't even pick up or move items, except a few magic quest items.

Popamole.

Actually considering I know details about czech school system behind the scenes. You are seriously underestimate skills of some czech students, while I know methodologists and high ranked school system officials from 20 years ago, thus my knowledge might be dated, top students definitely were able to write quality stuff in correct English, when they had writer talent.

Perhaps school system went major nose dive.

Also it's a country with freaking 10 million citizens. Even 2 million country can do high end nuclear research. Don't undervalue it for lack of overpopulation. (30 millions will not be 3x better.)

(Actually what makes me worry is that talk about welfare dolls, 1/100-1/1000 of these typically does quite important research, when they have enough money. And these who don't have fun by doing something serious in free time, they help immensely to theirs relatives when they are ill, or when theirs children needs someone that would teach them/spend time with. Typically corporate companies are trying to throw money one young, kick out old and or disabled, and smear them by pretending its theirs fault. Dumb young are falling for it, when they don't have relative that has been fucked over, or when they have pink glasses. These who pay them can't lie to them can't they...)

How much do you need to sell to be happy with the sales?

Also, can you play the game well without questmarkers? Did you have any testers do it?
