Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
The wind effect is legit nice. Especially compared to the hilarious wind effect in Witcher 3.

How nazi is that game?

Much less than Resetera mods apparently.

Well, what else can you do when you have a game developer who is literally Hitler? Vávra can count himself lucky that he Hawk269 didn't make him go through a second Nuremberg trial together with all his nazifans.

game is janky
Why do people keep using that word? If they used it 20 years ago everything from Vampire Bloodlines to Gothic, Morrowind, Wizardry, System Shock, Fallout, Arcanum, The Witcher to Deus Ex would have likely been labeled "janky".

Hey Smejki - something I can't believe has never been asked. The game's title - Kingdom Come! Deliverance! It's pretty biblical. Does the game have any religious themes/motifs or did you just think it sounds cool?

It probably started with those cinematic turds like Uncharted, Last of Us, Heavy Rain or SW Battlefront, with all animations super smooth and face captured. The assets and animation time were super limited and it still cost tens of millions to develop. And now people kinda expect the same level in huge, complex, open-world games too.

It's the raised bar effect - as long as jank is standard noone sees it as jank. I remember being transfixed over the Quest for Glory 3 graphics back in the day. But once the bar is raised people want more.

The name of the game is a citation of bible verses, what do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEdHI8VTxDA#t=33m15s
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.

They also said they studied old bibles and apparently (included some of them into the game)? and afaik they made it a minor PR point that they re-created 6 churches/chapels and that you can play as a monk:
The thing is, that we have several hundred buildings in the game. Some of them are are, well just a copy-paste similar buildings we have toy box basically, but lots of them are very unique, like this one, - we have like six different churches in this game I guess, or something like that. - Yeah, about that number. - So somebody had to spent almost a year just to make churches we have in the game and that's just one type of the buildings, so it's lot of work on the art.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I figured it would be from that prayer. Havent gone to church like in 7-8 years, but i still remember some about the verses and prayers.

(Although they were all translated into indonesian which makes it less poetic than the english Version. Some English translation of the bible was pretty poetic, some newer ones are more straightforward. Here in indonesia or at least the catholic school i went into gave children the simply written indonesian translation of the bible so those are what i remember.)

even when i am not a believer anymore, i can respect the effort into translating these books and how clever the people who did it, or at least pretty knowledgeable in linguistics of both languange.

Yes, I know the title is from the prayer. That's why I'm asking whether the plot of the game itself is relevant to that (other than that you might happen to visit some churches)

That's a fact.

Btw a while back Vavra said they were considering face capture but ultimately decided against it because actors would have to wear clumsy scanners on their faces which would limit dynamic and romantic scenes. I kindda wish they found a way to do face capture anyway, now the game is getting a lot of shit for the characters not looking as good as SW Battlefront.

Ofc it's retarded, unfortunately you have to factor in retardery when you're developing a game, in the same way you have to factor in gravity when you're making an airplane.

Considering Vávra isn't nazi, and even if he was he'd not put it into medieval game. At most you'd see a cultural aversion against Bavorians, Saxons and similar, and some MALE CHAUVINISM.

(Reset Era would be livid even from mere male chauvinism, thus people would have theirs fun anyway.)

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
I highly doubt you'll get a reasonable framerate at 1440p with those specs. A video was posted a few pages back of a guy with a gtx 1080 ti and a i7 6900k. He had framerate drops in crowded areas while running the game at 1080p with very high settings.
So unless they worked very hard on optimising the game with their day one patch, I fear the recommended specs will struggle with 1080p even on medium settings.
Ok, let's wait and see. If I fail to make it run well, I won't shrink from admitting I boasted and failed.

Vavra isn't Nazi. This cannot be glossed over because we need to keep remembering how insane those people are.

It's a matter of definition LS. For them everything is Nazi that isn't p.c.

And a grim looking man in his 40s, with tatoos, beard who likes beer and weapons is automatically the enemy.

I'm genuinely curious myself. Can't say I'm hyped yet, but the game looks interesting enough to buy. My pc just about matches the recommended specs. I have an i5 6600 instead of an i7 3770k, so no hyperthreading. Depending on how well they utilize multiple cores and threads, that might make a difference.

I have an FX-8350, 8GB of memory and a Geforce 660. I don't even meet the bare minimum lol. I'm so fucked, but i think if i could find a way to get a better graphic card i ought to be alright. I don't buy the more than 8GB of memory and CPU ought to be enough if i get a good vidya card.

You do meet the minimum. You might be thinking of the recommended.

It's all BS anyway, just upgrade your GPU and you'll be fine.

Afaik the game is not about religion although religion plays some (mostly minor) role. First placeholder title for the game was Hammerheart, after Bathory album, then it was 1403: Retribution (which I personally prefer over the final title). They chose Kingdom Come as a name of the series and Deliverance as the first game sometime after that.

Man I'd be so over Hammerheart. Bathory is the best.
