Hmmm so i finished the game and kind off felt like writing a quick review of it. Generally speaking i would recommend it.
Soooo where to begin....well the writing is ok,pretty generic fantasy setting,as expected from a KB game. There is a few side quests that picked me interest a few that gave me a giggle, but generally speaking nothing bad nor very good to remember. The map is pretty cool tho,it gives you that fantasy feel,it was joy exploring it. A lot of hidden catches and things, but nothing impressive. If anything the itemization is the lowest point of the game. There is bunch of sets but you can't actually get them, because the game is made to give you random legendary item for a set after quest completion, which means that you end up with a few parts of a few different sets, which is beyond retarded. Also you get a full set from the hardest quest.....which is total shit and worth less and just takes space in the inventory. I finished the game without changing me equipment lol.
Now the combat is pretty nice, tho later on it could become a bit tedious once you get in the meta, same as any TB game. The system is pretty nice, there is a need for tactical thinking on higher difficulty for sure. The system itself is that you get different tier units that need different amount of leadership to get to their max possible amount of the stack. For example you have tier 1 pike men that could get at max to 10 in a stack, which also depends on the leadership you have,so if you have say 500 leadership your stack could get the most of 5 pikemen, griffins which are tier 3 could get to 3 max at stack, which was pretty retarded or a bug since there is higher tier creatures that could get more than 3 lol. Tho the amount of max units is not tier locked, since you could get only one dragon but 3 celestial warriors. Tho the system is pretty interesting and forces you to get better units and not just stick with the level 1 units,it is also a bit of decline since you get stuck fighting with smaller stacks. Also the units are divided in four factions, order which are the humans and have the least variety, magic which is mostly golems and shit, anarchy which is combination of undead and bandits/assassins and finally force which is mainly animals like dragons and griffons and dwarfs....you could say only animals
. So the access to those troops and their effectiveness comes down to the way you finish quests. There is main conflicts between order vs anarchy and magic vs force. I personally played the force character aka the merc but ended up finishing all the quests with magic variation because it gave me better reward and made sense. I find the faction system pretty cool idea even if it have a few problems, like later on not being able to pick choices because you have too much of the opposite influence. Like being forced to side with x brother because you have too much order. Also the force options were pretty much meh.
The game runs pretty fine, easy to load and is easy on the eyes even on my old pc,also there is a quick save now. Tho i had a bug where the game crashes during loading screen some times. But it didn't stop me from finishing the game lol, since you could spend hour or two without seeing a loading since the whole map and most battles are preloaded.
Another possible negative is that the game is clearly unfinished or rushed, even the ending tells you that there will be continuation. Also it is pretty obvious that there was an idea for undead faction and shouldn't have been part of anarchy.
That said....it is pretty fun game, had good time, far better than that garbage expeditions rome lol. No fuchsin sjw shit, pure generic fantasy fun with some hard combat encounters.
Now i will go and try to finish nu disciples, maybe will writer a review of it too.
ps; also nice ending song,cheers
