Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
Devs are streaming on Steam rn. I asked a couple of questions, they're very open.

I asked about the speed - everybody thought the slow ass speed was normal when they were testing it? Apparently yes. The manager likes Fable and apparently the Fable char is slow too so they liked it. They must really love Fable I guess.

As for difficulty options, they will add two more, Easy and Hard.

And as for Doug Cockle, yes it's him voicing the Warrior and no, nobody else was standing in for him. Even though I could swear there were a few places where Warrior was voiced by someone with much deeper and rougher voice. I guess Cockle was probably sick and hoarse for a few sessions.

This review killed the game for me:

Spend like 5 min of watching (he speaks very slowly, increase speed).

Most of his concerns are trash. Like he has to open another menu to see stats and that you can lose units if all creatures in stack fall.

Or that if you follow one path, you are in future locked from other choices.

This is called C&C. Bads hate it, they want to see "full content" and whine about "gating". Same old story as with Age of Decadence.

I admit that my opinion was wrong.
This guy is actually got it.
I was blinded by KB legacy. This is not KB, never was. Just took name to milk franchise name.

This is bad game, not KB, avoid it.

K been playing off an on for about 8 hours so far and can give some general impressions.

Right off the bat the game is just kinda okay. While it isn't horrible or anything, the switch to 3d didn't do the game any favors. It plays just fine and is nowhere near as clunky as some reviews make it out to be but the art suffered greatly. I don't think the game looks terrible and occasionally there's some interesting views but overall it's very bland. Creatures suffer from this a ton too...I haven't seen top tier creatures yet but even stuff like flame eagles look drab and the way armies are shown now (actual units) they're mostly too small and lack detail. Also exploring the world is mostly uninteresting. Loot is a complete boor and finding stashes that give 100 gold and some randomized bs junk item like a horse brush or some bullshit like that isn't compelling in the least. Even when you find some tomb and have to do a small puzzle most of the time the reward is a paltry amount of gold, some junk item, and maybe an item you can use, although probably already have and purchased from the vendor 10 levels ago.

The combat itself is fine, standard King's Bounty fair with it's own small changes. The fights are fun, battlefields actually use elevation, more obstacles, better use of line of sight, etc. I like how units gain veteran status and even gain new abilities. Spells are all standard fair from the KB games.

Questing I don't know...I don't pay attention to story/dialog so someone else can give insight to that but from what I've seen it's a constant flow of boring fetch quests, talk to this person, go here, talk to another person, bla bla bla. There are some cool ones though and a few that have different ways of approaching them.

If you have nothing else to play and really enjoy the KB series or TB strategy games there's some value here, it's not a must play though. Bottom line whoever it was that decided KB fans have grown up and that this 3d/realistic design choice was a good decision should be sacked immediately. Even if they had the resources I think KB looked glorious in it's previous installments, and very clearly they didn't have anywhere near the resources to pull it off competently in the end anyways.

Overall 5.5/10

Denuvo has nothing to do with anything. If it was a better game and still had denuvo it would have sold a lot better, like the dozens of other games that sell well with denuvo every damn year. The number of people who give a crap enough about denuvo to actually not buy a game over it...or fuck even know what denuvo is period...is not even worth consideration.

I played the old King's Bounty games for 500hs at this point and I have zero curiosity to even pirate this game just by looking to it. Their failure was their wrong assumptions and going AAA graphics (and failing at it by the way) when nobody demanded this from them.

Just take a screenshot from this game and place it side by side with that Game of Thrones Mobile game, that new Disciples game and Raid Shadow Legends now ask a person that played the previous King's Bounty games but doesnt keep tabs on this project to try to guess what of four screenshots is from King's Bounty 2. Their failure isnt a surprise at all, the old fans dont give a shit, the new fans dont even know it exists.

It def was not a good decision, nor was some of the other design choices like stack size changes. I'm almost done with the game though and it's worth a play through if you enjoyed the other game but probably not at full price for most people. The patches have been decent too which is nice to see.

The game is worth picking up if it's 15 bucks, has a few DLCs and content packs thrown in, you have nothing better to play and it's your first King's Bounty game.

Why do the female vocals sound so familiar? Is it because it is generic, or does it remind anyone else of something? I can't put my finger on it. I actually like it.

I wouldn't say it's that generic, but that style has already been used in other soundtracks

Can you give some examples? Sort if reminds me of Dragon Age: Origins main theme, but this is a choir. What are some songs with a similar style?

I was thinking of that, even if the vocals don't make up all the video.

I was thinking of that one too, but the tempo is way faster and style different

Was honestly expecting -50%. Regardless, with that poh retarded base price it wouldn't be worth it anyway.
