this is so close to being a perfect game, all it needs is an auto-resolve function for battles like in homm

A near perfect game becoming perfect when you remove it some 4d thinking. I guess that running around "russian production values from the aughts" maps back and forth to buy troops is truly what dreams are made of.

Auto-resolve in these types of games usually ends up being horrible anyways so it would really only be used in easy fights. Sometimes you just miss a fight in an old place and don't want to go through the motions.

If a game have auto-resolve for battles, then it only proves that the battles have shit gameplay to the point of the player want to skip it... and even worse, the developer knew the battle system was shit/boring/not fun and instead of trying to tackle the problem and make it good/delectable/fun, they just decided the easy path: "let's add auto-resolve".

Auto-resolve is a no no for players who like to beat the game with no losses. Every unit is precious...

:hmmm:

i dont think u can do a KB play with no losses
You absolutely can, but it involves rerolling the playthrough until you get resurrection in one of the starting areas.
Legend and Armored Princess are easily doable, Warriors of the North not so much.

I played both Legend and Armored Princess in a 'no loss' self-imposed mode and I qualify this as one of the best gaming experiences I ever had. You have many tools in your disposal to make it work, time revival skills, priest resurrection etc. Super fun.

In Lords of Magic auto-resolve won the battle again the evil general, which triggered the end of the game, that I couldn't beat myself, that was funny (but not as funny as when it got triggered by another computer defeating him).

Yeah, auto-battle in LoM is basically a cheat code.
