or have a small group of trusted people calmly reporting bugs?

you mean a group of idiots that installed shitloads of other mods together with TSLRP and then report bugs caused by those mods to TG's Mantis?
by saying "a bunch of people bitching about the same goddamn problem" you kinda point that people who will play TSLRP are dumb. there are such things as stickied topics named "read before posting bugs" you know, where you post a list of bugs TG knows about. considering that they have like 18 unfixed (oh yeah sure) bugs right now - that won't be a big list to read.

Just because you can't see their progress, doesn't mean it isn't happening. If you can't see the progress and you don't believe its happening, then I suppose you don't believe in air either.

man, I think you forgot that it took 1.5 months for TG to release 1.0b9 which contained only 6 bugfixes. and only because they got fucked in the butt with leaked beta. you call that a progress?

Oh yeah. I have a phone call. His name is "Real Life" and he wants to talk to all of you. Considering that there isn't many more bugs to fix, yeah, a build is only gonna have a few fixes. You all are saying that TSLRP is a hoax and that we have no proof that it isn't a hoax. Why don't you all go get us some proof that it is a hoax? Right now, things are going slow. But think (And I mean use that small piece of gray matter in your skull). People are getting off of school. That means exams. And, considering there is only like what? 10 beta testers left, that means the bug fixes are gonna be slowed down considerably.

Religious dumbfuck: I believe in god.
Atheist: I say god is a lie.
Religious dumbfuck: You can't prove that.
Atheist: Neither can you.
Religious dumbfuck: But you can't prove he doesn't exist.
Atheist: Following you logic we should believe in Santa Claus, the easter bunny, big foot....

Thats where your wrong. We HAVE proof that this mod isn't a hoax. Mainly, the Mantis and the WIPs with real screens of the real mod in action.

4 years of nothing is not enough proof? Go and see what a guy like Drogg did with the arcanum patch in just a few months with some support from the community. That is modding. Not doing anything for over a year is not modding. You're being a fanboy that no matter what will defend his little fad. Go suck some TG cock and fuck off.

Perhaps TSLRP will be finished and perhaps it will even be good. From the idiocy in TG's handling of the leak and from the fanboyism on their forums I expect the worst though.

There is no "fanboyism" at their forums. And no matter what you prove, all your doing is proving that you people have no real brains whatsoever.
So did Knights of the Force mod.
Wow, real nice example.
I know about KotF. KotF wanted donations. But there is real progress going on, and we all know it, if you "dig down deep enough"

Having a discussion is a waste of time. I'll just tease.

No you are stupid! Durrrrr.

But there is real progress going on, and we all know it, if you "dig down deep enough"

Alright, I had a talk with him.

RL told me that the solution is to have a larger team, so that progress can continue if a member is dealing with RL.

In addition to that, RL also told me that open beta testing would make bugs be found faster and increase productivity immensely.

I think, as stated before, everyone realizes that the problem is not that TG is lazy, but rather a failed development model. TSLRP would have been done a long time ago, if TG wasn't like "60 4w4y j00 n00b 7h15 15 M`/ P|z0j3c7 l0l" to prospecting mod developers who wanted to help. The lack of a deadline and a "w3 4|z3 d0n3 w3n d0n3 l0lz" attitude is also a major contributor to the project's fall into development hell, perhaps moreso than the aforementioned reason. Without deadlines, a person will be led to believe that no one cares how long they will take, and eventually, they will lose interest. I have seen many mod projects crumble into dust because of this.

Alright. Everyone who thinks that TSLRP is a hoax and is never gonna be finished, think(can you?) about this: How can something that is a hoax be leaked? If it isn't gonna be finished, then how the fuck did all that new stuff get in? Santa? Sorry, munchkins; Santa ain't real.

You worked hard on that one. I can see. Have a cookie. Now, why don't you respond to Occupatedvoid? He actually tries to reason with you. I know, it baffles me too.

Alright mister now just what in the fuck are you going on about? Who said the thing is a hoax? I haven't seen anyone call it that. Obviously the leak, which at least one member (jaylittle) has managed to play through, proves that the thing exists....but no one was every saying it didn't.

Don't confuse arguments that the mod will take forever to be finished with arguments that the mod never existed.

Okay, let's assume I was a member of a team of modders who wanted to do a Restoration project.
1. Hey guys, let's make a restoration project for the Sith Lords. It can't take us more than, say one year. I'll look on the Internet and see what I can find.
Hey look there's already a team making the mod. Not much point in us doing it. We'll have it in a year and a half at most.
2. A year and a half later - They aren't finished it. Meh, it must take longer than I estimated.
3. Another year later - These guys are a bunch a slowpokes, aren't they? But it can't take them much longer.
4. Yet another year later - Fuck these guys. If we'd started the project at the same time they did, we'd have finished it long ago. Fucking shit. Not that there's much for us to do now - even if we started now and worked as fast as possible, they're going to finish before us.
5. Any number of days later, repeat 4.
And that's the story of how Team Giska effectively blocked off everyone else from doing the project.
The moral of the story? If you know you can't work hard to release something quickly, Make your own mod from scratch and work on it however long you want, and leave it to somebody else to make the "only one needed" mods.

Your brain has obviously leaked, but it's still a hoax.

I've just downloaded the latest version of a mod from a team who actually know what they are doing. It's the Europa Barbarorum total conversion mod for Rome: Total War, it's pretty much a whole new game in its own right (everything is new, only the engine was kept on). And its been massively successful (over 135,000 downloads of 0.80-81, 95,000 of 1.0, has been included on PC Format and PC Gamer dvds).

So next time I hear someone from TG, or someone supporting them, whining about how hard it is to make a restoration mod for a game like KOTOR2... I just think of Europa Barbarorum. And I laugh.

Moral of the story... if you say you're gonna make a mod then cause a lot of hype and anticipation in the community... put up or shut up. And don't whine when people get tired of waiting after 3 years.

Wasn't aware of this mod. I just googled it, and am in the process of downloading. Just wanted to thank you for mentioning it.

ORLY? This thread proves otherwise.

...Anyway, I don't really care how long it takes to finish a mod and how often new versions appear, that's solely the modders' business. But all those butthurt homos whining "OMG evry1 can play it now we not SPEEEEESHUL anymore!!!onehundredeleven!!" fucking deserved it to happen.

Yes, fanboi cocksuckers, you are NOT speshul anymore. Go fucking kill yourselves you fags. Bwahaha.

Wow, how old are you again? The last time I heard cocksucker was from an 11 year old.

Why is the mod taking years to complete? No fuckin' clue. Will we ever know? Probably not. I disagree with some of Team Gizka's attitudes on several issues, like not posting a progress report in a while, but overall I think progress is being, as slow as fuck as it can be sometimes.

Doesn't this forum have moderators? You know, MOST forums don't allow flaming.

Yeah, this is all very strange. Basically, you have all these people coming here, making themselves comfortable and starting to create drama. Then they start asking that the moderators ban/dumbfuck the leakers and everybody else Team Gizka doesn't like.
Srsly, what?

 Heh, that was a good one. Nobody gives a fuck most of the time if somebody gets flamed badly here on the Codex.

Perhaps you should read the Forum Rules and learn what they are before you start bitching?
