They are going to release something in two weeks. From what I "hear" it will be something in between the leaked beta and the "final" that they would have liked to release in a perfect fantasy world that we don't live in.

So it will be fully playable, mostly fixed but not all fixed. Then they will "see" if they want to work out any remaining bugs, but may instead just release the whole thing and let anybody toy with it. If they decide to open source their work they will also shut down their forums.

The person I heard this from seems to think he is in the know so we shall see. I hope they do release. Its about fucking time.

Could it be? Are they finally seeing reason?

Damn.

Could this mean that T-G has finally grown up enough to stop trying to string people along and admit that they have no intention of finishing TSLRP?

DW isn't a team member; he's a beta tester. You won't know who the team members are from a forum-browse unless you pay close attention. For example, the most active team member poster on the TG forums by far is Dashus, and that's even after taking his three-month sabbatical into account.

He might also be the only team member who reads the TG forum at all, so if you're expecting anything you post on the forum to reach Team Gizka itself, put that thought aside now. I would be surprised if they even heard about the stuff various Codex members did, except as a report from the mods along the lines of "We had to close the forum registration for a week, but it's back on now."

*Looks at calendar, then looks back at the cycle of events over the past four years*

Oh, shit: I didn't realize it at first, but it's been about 6 months since the last one, so I guess we were due for yet another in what has become a long line of semi-annual episodes of high drama to garner yet more undeserved attention for TSLRP. Pathetic.

Then the bugs won't last long, I think.

1.08b (the leak) has been in the public domain six months. Has anyone picked it up and started work on it? Anyone? I haven't heard of anyone. Have you?

From that, I think we can infer: It's not happening. Possibly even if TG release their current build to the public, nothing'll happen. Chances are folk either have their own projects to work on, know nothing about KOTOR modding or just plain don't want to do it. As far as getting the RP to a decently-playable state is concerned, one suspects it''s TG or no-one at this point.

Perhaps modders simply don't want to break some "modder's law" by working on someone else's shit without that person's permission.

Honestly, if I wasn't so goddamn lazy, I'd do it myself. All the modding tools necessary are already out there.

It's because KotOR2 is old news. Moddies don't care - it has been 4 years.

Baldur's Gate 2 still has a very active modding community and it's...what...11 years old?

8.

Don't compare KotOR2 to BG2. Other than superior writing everything in KotOR2 is much more inferior to the same things in BG2.
From small boring areas, poor graphics to craptastic combat and dumbed down "DnD" clone system. Plus KotOR2 isn't mod friendly. There are no real mods for KotOR2 (and TSLRP even struggles to be normally playable while having no new content) and it tells something.

yes plz

Actually, there are mods for KotOR II ranging from just about everything -- it's just that (much like the majority of BGII mods) they mostly fucking suck hard. No idea how easy it is to mod the game, however.

We are approaching zero hour, so would anybody like to make some predictions for what will happen tomorrow?

A) Nothing
B) Yet another Internal Beta Tester Release
C) 1.0b8 leak gets released officially as a "teaser"
D) Fake installer gets released and just changes desktop wallpaper to goatse.cx
E) 1.0c1 gets released and has a massive bug in it that prevents player from leaving Telos

And the result:

A) A whole lot of whining
B) A whole lot of whining with a dash of cock sucking
C) A whole lot of cock sucking
D) Armageddon
E) Hillary Clinton is revealed to be Darth Traya, kills Obama and makes Lord Sion her VP

You guys need to ignore those fucking pricks.

I feel like a retard for being strung along for so long. Yeah, I kept KOTOR2 installed for a couple of years before I realised Team Gizka is a bunch of egotistic, lazy jerkoffs who can't be bothered to fix a few bugs, then whine whenever people criticise them for it.

Move on, people. There's plenty of good games out there to play, don't waste your time on a lost cause. If you think BG2 is better than KOTOR 2, play that. Whatever. Just don't bother with this piece of shit.

Holy shit they weren't kidding.

http://forums.team-gizka.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4785

We have decided that it is in the best interest of the fans to go ahead and release the mod as is, despite the fact that there are still bugs that need to be fixed. There are many reasons for this, but primary among them is the fact that there are many personal issues I am going through right now, and I realize that at the rate I am going it will likely be a long time before it would finally be released were I not to do what I am doing now. So we, Team Gizka, are making this mod available to the public, in the hopes that perhaps some other modders may add the finishing touches to it.

We thank you all for your patience and understanding.
Well, I guess we have to give them some points for finally seeing reason.

Alright MODDERS, get your asses in gear!

You see what's the problem with when you want to hide the shockporn behind the Codex link.
If the link in question leads to where it should lead - it is in white colour and is underlined - when it leads to a shockporn - it is grey without underlining. DU should fix that.

I just want to see if the "April's Fool" or some other crappy excuse will open the eyes to their mindless cult or people really can be that 'tarded.

I know. I was adding credibility to the link.
