I wouldn't worry about killerbob's threats. She's in Canada for crying out loud. I mean it would be different if she was in a real country that somebody cared about. As it stands now killerbob threatening litigation is akin to Papa Smurf promising to bring a ghetto beatdown to my doorstep.

Almost painfull to behold this. When you make people wait for years, then promise to release something big in two weeks and then give them such a shitty trailer it really says something about you as a person and how you think about your "fans". Then again, when one reads that forum you can't really blame him.

Still, I'm more interested to see how far this shameless cornholing can go before they wake up and the shit will hit the fan than I ever was in the mod itself.

Agreed.

I'm surprised no one has taken the leaked beta and fixed it up.

Allow me to be candid for a moment: I don't give a rat's arse about when this mod or even IF this mod will be released. I haven't lost hope, but take a look around you. The world eceonomy is in something called a disaster/turmoil at the moment. If the Team chooses to care more about their RL or something else for that matter - is their choice.

I'm instead awaiting eagerly a Lord of the Rings-conversion mod for Medieval II: Total war which is on 97% meaning they're two weeks away from their first release. When TG's Restoration Project is out, I'll definately play it. Two weeks or no Two weeks.

I just wish Dash and the others best of luck on this project.

I believe TG forums have perfect material for the Best Thread Ever (part 2). And to think that all this time we were bothering with ESF?

I'm interested whom, for what and how TG would sue

Here's a fun thread I started contributing to. Have at it kids!
Nah, j7 will just delete any negative posts on the subject like he just did ours.

There are mods over there that HATE TSLRP with a passion, though, and that thread has a very short life expectancy after this.

j7 temp banned me. Oh well. He deleted my posts and gave me an infraction point. I promptly told him to "sit on it and spin". I was then temp-banned. Heh. As if I care.

It seems the TG forums are back up.

Not really. Registrations are closed again - just like the last time. Or rather you need an admin activation of the account which is essentially the same - knowing how paranoid TG is they won't approve anyone in the first days and even after that there is no guarantee that this very accout you just approved is not The One.

Basically Codex wins again.

Well, you can't really blame them for that when they get spammed with goatse and tubgirl. :P

tor and cornucopia of free proxies just by googling makes ip bans irrelevent. Unless you dig up some db of known tor ip's and/or start blocking whole ip ranges.

edit: That is unless you're stupid enough to do that kinda spamming using your real ip. Knowing the Codex, well...

In a post-Andhaira world IP bans are irrelevant.

You don't need tor or anything like that anymore.
There are lots of browser http proxies (10s of thousands of them - no kidding) - just punch in the required URL - and the proxy will handle anything opened in that window through itself.
Besides banning popular proxies is like shooting yourself in the foot as there are always "legit" members who use them to browse sites (for whatever reason - there are codexers who do that too). And every day brings even more proxies.
Just remember to keep your cookies clean (as you can easily be tracked by one) and you will be safe.

DU tried to ban Andhaira for 4 months. And he stopped only because Andhaira got tired of spamming the Codex. Besides as DU said himself he started getting angry emails from "legit" Codex members about how they can't access their GD anymore.

Shit, man, it's like becoming One With The Internet.

Let me point out some things concerning TSLRP: A) They're doing this because they want to, not because of their alleged 'egos'. B) It's only a few builds away from release. So, to download the leak would only ruin all that they've worked to do. C) There's some people who have respect for Team Gizka. Though, no doubt, some probably have already downloaded the bugged & outdated BETA. (In spite of the Beta builds being only meant for the beta testers.)

A: Yes, this point has been made clear. When you promote a mod, people tend to expect...you know...a public release...sometime within a century perhaps? And how many modders would've taken up such a project, but did not, because Team Gizkas doing it?

B: and for how long now has it been "a few builds away from release"? How long have simple "text errors" sat unresolved? How long without even a word?

C: I'm sure those who downloaded the leak were perfectly aware that it's a beta. Most, if not all of those people are sick of Team Gizkas bullshit. There are those who don't care to be strung along anymore.

As someone who regretfully was not following the drama, could someone explain how they rationalized the idea that the leaked beta somehow hurt them? For fuck's sake, it's a leaked beta for a free product. The only reason to get pissy is if you ahve no intention of actually relea-

Really? I thought it was because they get off by stringing people like you along. Their sadistic semi-annual cycle of hype makes this rather obvious to anyone capable of independent thought.

As it has been for the past two years. This latest publicity stunt only shows that nothing has changed, and that nothing is going to change in the foreseeable future.

And that number is shrinking daily, through no one's fault but theirs.

Ah, the guilt-trip attempt. I'm sorry, Ferc, but this is a case where repeated blue-balling lead to rape. Does the blue-balling justify the act of rape? Nope. Do we feel sorry for the victim, though? Well, I don't.

Ferc, allow me to put this into terms that even a wide-eyed child such as yourself can understand: what T-G is doing is evil, yes, evil as in not good.

Oh, and you're going to find the T-G thread over at LucasForums has been deleted. Not locked, but deleted, so the hype machine no longer has a spotlight there, and I for one hope that it stays that way.
