Couldn't play this remake because I dislike the modern art style for the characters, but when you switch to the old skool style they clash too much with the rest of the graphical assets.

I would clash with some ot these assets fo sho.

In Langrisser Mobile they did a better job imo (at least as far as quality of artworks goes). Too bad it's gacha trash.

 

[Crayll]

Started the first remake and it's good fun, worth the sale price. Definitely too easy though. I've limited myself to only using found equipment and not buying anything from shops, but I might have to end up using no equipment or skills at all.
The mobile game art for units stopped bothering me at some point, probably helps that I just skip the fight animations.

If Langrisser II improves on this I'll probably end up enjoying it more than Fire Emblem. The mercenary system makes it feel much more like you're fighting an actual war and not just carting around a team of anime protagonists.

Originally I planned to include only the "classic" art by Satoshi Urushihara, but decided to add the decline newshit by Ryo Nagi as well. For a reason or two...

You can clearly see the pubic mounds for the female frontal portraits in Satoshi's updated art. Incredible stuff.
