Launch had some queue issues but all seems to be resolved now and I've been in a multiplayer session for three hours without any problems. 0.9 changes are all good from what I can tell and several D2/Path of Exile friends that are playing the game for the first time today have nothing but good things to say about the game.

I hope they can keep the momentum going now that multiplayer is out of the way.

Massive fake news from my perspective unfortunately.

We’ve been trying to play this over the span of the last three days and it hasn’t just been difficult, it’s been impossible. So many quest errors, frequent stuttering, needs to restarts and lock-ups we haven’t been able to play.

In my experience, the game so far is multiplayer in name only :(
Only multiplayer or singleplayer as well?
I wonder about that as well. Did they fuck up something in the multiplayer code? Or is it increased server load after the patch?

Single player has many of the same issues but they get instantly multiplied by a factor of 100 if you party up - and then by another 100 if you're in the same zone.

I played a lot before the MP thing and it was mostly smooth sailing except quests and endless respawns. Seems like they fucked it up a lot.

I haven't played much until this patch, but judging by the community, there's definitely a lot more hassles in single player now. My point is that they're mostly just tedium - like long load times between zones, partly explored maps on entry, a bit of stuttering, that sort of shit. I've played a character to level 50 in a single night and had loads of fun, so it's not worse than something you can live with.

Playing in a party these things all got exponentially worse for us, to the point where we are literally sitting 4 people in the same voice channel playing solo play because even though we could live with a ton of issues to play together, it's almost literally impossible currently.

I'm thinking in purchasing this game but before, a very important question. Does the spells in this game scale with your weapon? I HATE it.

Only if the weapon base has +spell damage. Typically stuff like wands and scepters. https://lastepoch.fandom.com/wiki/Cobalt_Sceptre https://lastepoch.fandom.com/wiki/Necromancer_Wand
But you can't just pick up any sword and do better with spells that way. There could be exceptions if the spell specifically scales with physical damage, of course.

What's the strongest pet/minion based class in this game?

Necro, by far. Beastmaster has some cool stuff but falls behind and you want to be on the frontline with the beasts. Necro can just sit back and relax.

And Necro has lots options to choose as summons. Bone golems, skeleton warrior, archers, magi, volatile zombies, wraiths and abominations. Only real downside is the summon AI.

I personally prefer Lich in this game with low life stuff. I melt even bosses in seconds without decent gear. But it's a very risky play style.

Yeah, I usually go for Necro but Lich is lots of fun, was doing great in hardcore with it, until I got one shotted.

Every class some has high damage potantial in this game, kinda everything works. Werebear using stroms, low life Lich with sprits and death seal, auto bombing void knight, lightning sorc, glacier sorc and etc.

I've just played through D2 and D3 as a Frenzy Barb. How would you build that in Last Epoch? I love the Primalist aesthetics/flavor, but none of the archetypes seem particularly suited to it. I'm not looking to play a pet class, a shapeshifter, or a caster. Maybe I should be a Beastmaster that neglects his beasts... or a druid that remains human... or a melee shaman. :?

One of the nice things about LE is that it's entirely possible to do your own build. You can take nodes that seem like they would be logically good and possess a relatively viable build at the end of it.

That may change as they expand the end game and do more balance passes, though as things currently stand it's quite refreshing in comparison to Path of Exile.

It would primarily be the beastmaster just with more focus on your attacks. That said, having a couple of powerful animal minions fighting alongside you in melee doesn't really dilute that class fantasy in my eyes.

That sounds awesome. I think I had enough of PoE shitty game design and gameplay or endless funless grind.

Having to be on the front lines with a pet build sorta defeats the entire point of running one, IMO. The gear requirements go up a lot if you have to tank hits too. So I guess I'll give necro a shot.

I heard there's a unique helmet that turns wolves into mass murdering cocaine squirrels and that they're massively OP. But the downside is you have to get right in the middle of the fray and melee stuff along side them, and that sounds like a very gear dependent build.

You'll need good gear for summoners, especially in later parts of game because of one enemy modifier, "focuses on attacking the player". A strong rare or a strong pack with that modifier will make a short work of you if you don't have enough defensive layers or "oh shit" buttons.
Gear is not really hard to come by in LE thanks to crafting. Unless you want a spesific unique for a spesific build(like the squirrels) you can have fully tailored items for your needs. And Beastmaster has some nice passives to help him staying on front lines.

You can do that with swipe, frenzy totem and warcry. It's easy to maintain attack and movement speed with those skills. Fury leap for mobility but it is a strong enough skill that clears some packs itself alone. Pick any other last skill you like earthquake or blessing.

Can you make due without legendary crafting? Because I heard that finding uniques with 3 or 4 legendary potential is extremely unlikely, and that some uniques might not even be able to roll 3 or 4.

Yeah you can. I mean you'll strugle at the uber super end game (+300 corruption dungeons) but before that, with decent gear you can.
Paladin guy is also nice at melee(probably better than primalist) but he has such other cool that made you forget playing vanilla melee.

Paladin guy

Do you have to be that Paladin or is there some type of character creation or multiple looks to the Paladin?

Sentinel class have sub class of paladin, so no, you have to be that paladin. A cheap copy of D2s paladin. Which unironically, looks better than D2Rs new paladin
