Anyway, good luck on the final mission (assuming you haven't played it yet ;)), it can be a bitch, because Marduk is a frikkin cheater.
He's just fast and has many manaliths under his control (quick mana recovery). Except of that, he's just a normal wizard...

I'm playing this mission for the 3rd time, but with the shitties spellbook possible - no "final" spells useful against wizards.
Nah, he also doesn't have to convert souls, so as soon as one of your units dies, he can capture its soul(s).

I think Marduk always has death as his final spell and he mainly uses charnel units(iirc). Not sure his spellbook is random actually. Jadugarr used Tornado though, which is Stratos's. Hachimen is considered a mercenary(ie, he is not aligned with any god, but just sort of shows up when you need someone to fight) so it ain't weird he has Volcano.

Don't know about pink ring of death, have you got a screenie?

I hadn't witnessed such thing during any playthrough. It would be impossible to survive his single Death spell this way - he will be able to harvest both his and yours souls this way.
In my case he only grabs his souls (red) and withdraws, leaving my (blue) souls alone... :?

What I meant is that he uses spells/units from different gods. But his spellbook looked the same in all my playthroughts (Death, Charnel's unit mostly, etc.)

What about two wizards who I didn't meet during this LP: Grakkus and Ragman? Are they mercenaries or are they working for specific god?
AFAIR each god has two wizards working for him:
  • Persephone: Shakti, Yogo
  • James: Charlotte, Grakkus
  • Stratos: Abraxus, Jadugarr (knowingly or not)
  • Pyro: Buta, Sorcha
  • Charnel: Seerix, Acheron
Is this correct?

I think it's Plague (haven't played Charnel-only campaign yet) but this shit is powerful as fuck - can kill a Jabberocky easily).

No, it is not plauge, it is demon portal or somesuch(Fake edit: Looked it up and its called demonic rift). It's weird you find it to be powerful, I always found it to be one of the worst spells in the game, although it is dirt cheap and costs almost no mana.

Ragman is charnel afaik, and I would call Jadugarr a mercenary(Grakkus is def James's). This of course means Stratos only has one wizard which kind of fits tbh(It's spoilery if you haven't goon full stratos though).

Thanks for the info.
I did a Full-Stratos playthrough so I know who's responsible for this mess...

Where was I? Oh, yes:

Marduk attacks right away. The key to winning here is:

a) staying alive
b) taking some souls from him
c) destroying all his manaliths (fucker has many of them so his mana recovers very fast)
d) destroying his doomsmachine
e) owning his ass

Ed creates two manaliths and two Hellmouths, making them guardians

avogw2.jpg

2v33jae.jpg

He pwns one of two Marduk's Hellmouths using IV, the other one dies regular way

mcylu9.jpg

Marduks tries desecrating Ed's altar, Ed chases his sac-doctors away

2hia5g9.jpg

This went so great, that I decided to free some of the guardians of their duty:

o8b414.jpg

:M

Of course Marduk attacks 2 seconds after Death disappears killing all Ed's units

Ed stops another desecration attempt, but isn't able to stop Marduk from harvesting all his souls. Fucker is simply too strong/fast:

5znomb.jpg

Ed rebuilds his army. Shit goes on for a while: Marduk attacks, loses units, picks up all souls, retreats.

w19ysm.jpg

From time to time he uses either Death or his other spell: the Pink Ring of Doom, killing either everything except Ed (Death) or everything except Hellmouths (PRoD).

2cniixs.jpg

2dr98gh.jpg

:x

The only safe way of taking some of his souls from him is by using IV. Converting red souls is almost impossible - fucker is way too fast and harvesting souls is his priority (good AI behavior for a change):

2vuab6p.jpg

After some time Ed creates a Hellmouth-only army and destroys first Marduk's manalith:

2d29g5w.jpg

The rest is simple, which doesn't mean easy.
Each manalith should be destroyed, but not before it's guardians are killed with IV, to prevent Marduk from harvesting souls.

4tu39k.jpg

This takes a while and sometimes fails (Marduk casting Death or being faster than Ed at the "race to the blue souls")

seaas8.jpg

:x

Marduk is weaker and weaker with each manalith lost. At some point he even leaves some souls of his creatures for us to convert:

:decline:

Another manalith, another Silverback pumped up

2cz63dj.jpg

Ed creates a temple and summons more Hellmouths

imrywn.jpg

Another manalith is being guarded by a Phoenix. Nothing that Intestinal Vaporization couldn't fix:

21cvacg.jpg

2z6gvmb.jpg

Marduk can do shit except harvesting a soul or two from time to time - Hellmouths can pwn him now (but they need some time and occasional Ed's help)

235lie.jpg

Ed destroys another manalith, pumps up another Silverback

ruvdxl.jpg

Marduk has two manaliths left. The 1st one is guarded by a Hellmouth (another five souls for Ed):

The last one is unguarded. Marduk is standing near it:

Zyzyx realizes something weird:

We're doing no damage!

dnj9eg.jpg

Do I even have to mention that I haven't attacked the device yet?

344duzk.jpg

He checks out the Evil Thing:

We just did, FFS!

facepalm.jpg

Marduk decides to go down with a bang - he summons Death

an1rfa.jpg

Ed rebuilds his army (creating some 'Dashes this time)

21m7olc.jpg

And attacks the device:

Finally, ITZ destroyed!

Marduk still acts tough guy:

rix8xt.jpg

He shows up near Ed's altar. Let's teleport there and finish off this fucker!

Earth shakes.

Do you feel that?

It is. Is all well in Stygia?

We have one more choice here:

I say we should aid Charnel, at least he was honest. Still, Marduk won at the end anyways, Shiny was disbanded and Sacrifice was left to be forgotten, a game too original for the consoletards and WoWfags... :(

Wow this is interesting, we get a choice for the final - it would seem cool to me to see it unfold if we choose the second option, Let Acheron be your Champion.

What does "Let Acheron be your champion" mean ? Ed's champion, or Charnel's champion ? Can you betray Charnel and take his place ?

Charnel is entertaining enough, but working for him would be much less interesting now that there are no other gods for him to oppose. I suggest we move on.

Thanks for the LP, by the way !

Move on, there are more worlds to see, or at least there would have been if Shiny hadn't died :(

We can choose what Eldred will say to Charnel. So - Charnel's champion.

Only the sequel made by Bethesda Soft. will tell... :M

It's all over now? Oh well it went well enough.
Now you should do "The Tits" Persephone, spekkio.

Glad a good game such as Sacrifice got an LP.
I wanted to say that next you should do an LP of a game similar to Sacrifice but then I remembered that Sacrifice is pretty much one of its kind. Feels bad.

:salute: for actually completing this. Now, how about a second playthrough with other choices?
