The fight once again starts with Patrus getting blinded.
And fireballed.
Seems like half charge again, at least that's good.
I decide to do the chasing with James and the hitting with Locky - since James is faster and less deadly.
One of the casters near James was prevented from casting, so he decided to melee Patrus to add insult to injury.
Locky takes one down. 3 vs 5 now.
Sigh... they REALLY hate Patrus.
28 damage, wonder how much Patrus has left in the tank.
Guess since Locky is in the way of Patrus - that caster fireballs him instead.
And burns himself to death with AoE again! 3 vs 4 now.
But that WAS a painful way to take one down, Locky takes full 60 damage.
James disables 2 casters, but fails to actually hit one.
And Patrus continues being pummeled.
22 damage, surprised he's still up.
Locky takes another one down. 3 vs 3 now! We might actually win this time.
Dammit James!
At least these two bunched up - Locky couldn't get close enough to hit, but at least he disabled both.
Patrus finally gets to act! And has 4 health left. He takes turns resting for the rest of this fight.
James gets a hit in.
While Locky is relegated to chasing duty - the guys he's chasing seem faster then him.
James finishes another one off! 3 vs 2!!!
Locky actually manages to miss.
At least James is on a hitting streak.
Locky can't quite get close enough.
And we're down to one!
And 0! We win!!!
James got slightly better at thrusting his rapier.
Not the best armor, but boy did they hurt to fight!
Not sure if we've seen this before. It does that firefly spell.
Hmmm, a scroll.
Not quite sure what this one does, sounds like an attack spell. Might actually be that firefly spell as well. Just not coming from an item like the necklace above.
Glad Patrus didn't get hit by this guy in melee.
More scrolls!
Pretty useless spell since it requires that nasty Hand of Glory in the caster's inventory.
At least they all had some gold too.
And plenty of potions, speaking of - we should have used some for this fight.
These guys were hiding near a house, we check it out.
But its fairly useless.
You might remember that we saw some points of interest to the West when we last used the Spyglass. There are it.
Hmmm, some sort of murder happened here?
If they did - they're no Garrett.
Ah, makes sense. Sounds like they do something more terrible to the women then just killing and eating them.
Man, these Trolls were pretty hardcore.
Think this house and barn are used to warn us that there are bunch of Trolls to fight if we proceed West.
And we don't need to do that. So we head back to Duke Martin.
You know... there were Six Magicians and... there were supposed to be some sort of "The Six" that were supporting Delekhan. But this quip by James does not make them sound like they were it.
Duke does not seem particularly impressed either.
Oh no... so much for the Portly Baron.
Sigh... so James went all the way up here to warn about the Nighthawks and... it did absolutely no good.
I didn't know this world had cannons.
We're suddenly transported to some animation of a dude attacking James. How did we get here? Is it another nighthawk?
Seems like a moredhel. And why is James's sword on his back??? It's like an alarm was called and this moredhel was already on top of James.
Fortunately Duke Martin or Locky comes to the rescue!
Or.... Arutha????
Ok, first they have Duke of the realm running around with the scouts, now the Prince of the Realm is apparently at the spearhead of the rescue party. Where in the world are his bodyguards?
And... how did they get into the castle without James knowing?
Oh man... these guys got chewed up!
This... makes me wonder why they chose to include a well in this particular scene... It just seems random.
Right, we know why from last chapter.
Maybe these two should get closer so that they don't have to yell over the wall.
I wonder how many moredhel would constitute a company.
One would think that if they did - they would have overwhelmed the garrison.
Lol, it only took 2 of the companies to completely maul Northwarden. James and co are very lucky that the Moredhel decided to do something weird instead of bum rushing all at once.
Couldn't they have just gone for Highcastle straight from the north if they wanted to? Why the detour to Northwarden?
I guess one would need to read the Serpentwar saga again if we wanted to relearn Murmandamus's mistakes.
And on this note the chapter 5 ends!
