I'll try to get you both the ranks you want ASAP, but Root might get butthurt over the Commander one, so this might have to wait... A Captain should make itself availible soon enough.

You don't have to make Warcupine a Commander to begin with. With his superhuman skill and hatred for all things non-aryan, he'll rise on his own soon enough. As evidenced by the fact you send him on an alien base raid as his very first mission and he delivers high-explosive DEATH to floater scum.

No, I intentionally sacrificed the entire team of veterans from EuroCOM to balance out the fact that alien activity will now die down very, very low levels. As in: game beggining levels. And it will, because switching the missions.dat file was the only way to prevent the Floater Battleship from ariving again and again and again OR to prevent it from crashing the game when it can't find the base because I gave it up.

I can't say I like the outcome, I would have preferred to go down while fighting at the very least, not by some plasma beam Deus Ex Machina.

UPDATE 34

Yep, that's one Alien Base less!

The Council of Founding Nations still approves of X-COM, but it reduced the funding anyway.

A Skyranger arrives at TentacleRapeCOM. The base will finally be able to launch ground missions!

An Interceptor arrives at AfrikaKORPS

Base Potato regains some of it's previous functionality!

It immediately receives an Interceptor.

And it's radars detect an UFO : x

The alien craft takes off before the Asian team can arrive, but the new European Interceptor engages it.

It is brought down somewhere over Transylvania. With luck something will get all the aliens before the Skyranger arrives.

It appears the Count was not hungry after all. Or perhaps Sectoid blood doesn't taste too well. Pity.

TNO and Hartman blow the creatures to pieces.

Multiple hostiles were spotted moving in and around this building!

eklektyk spots...

...and stuns a Sectoid.

He then advances on the building, spotting two Sectoids.

He shoots one...

And Sergiu67 dispatches the other.

Sergiu67 then realises the stunned Sectoid is up, with its weapon back in its hands!

Nothing MMXI can't deal with.

An unnamed trooper spots a Sectoid.

Comrade Commissar kills it.

This alien tried to stun eklektyk.

Now it won't stun anyone!

Slaughter spots a hostile.

Darthowicz takes it out.

Another one is discovered by an unnamed trooper...

...and killed by MMXI.

RK47's tank locates another alien.

After an exchange of fire the creature is taken out.

Slaughter storms the UFO, discovering a Sectoid.

Its death ends the mission.

Team Kwa ready for action!

Azira III and Fat Boobs join KwaCOM.

While kazgar VI and Donaroriak join TentacleRapeCOM.

A Very Small UFO is detected over the Pacific. Drakron is sent to intercept it.

He catches it over Siberia.

Another Very Small UFO is detected, this time over the Arctic.

EuroCOM's Interceptor manages to bring it down over India.

An UFO is reported dirtside in Jordan.

It dusts off before AsiaCOM's away team can reach it, but EuroCOM's Interceptor is waiting for it.

On its way back, the Interceptor engages yet another Very Small UFO.

Tentacle Team arrives at the Jordanian crash site.

RK47's camera feed reveals a Snakeman.

Hartman spots another one.

He promptly deals with it, while kazgar's and MMXI's concentrated fire brings the first one down.

Sergiu67 spots another hostile.

It becomes Donaroriak's first kill.

As he prepares to storm the UFO, Comrade Commissar comes face to back-of-the-head with a Snakeman.

True to his callsign, he executes the vile creature.

Darthowicz discovers another alien at the UFO's doorstep!

That's one less alien to worry about, and the mission ends.

An UFO is detected over Europe.

Potato Base's Interceptor engages it in a new Battle of Britain.

Some transfers are made between our bases.

Just as Kwa Team's Skyranger approaches the British crash site, a Small UFO is detected over Central Asia.

But it is not Kwa Team's concern.



Guys, should I ressurrect Drog as an Interceptor pilot? Clone him, maybe, to fill both vacant Interceptor

seats?
