Well who would have thunk it, as it seems like a certain someone's a little embarrassed that his precious Khemri team conceded a touchdown, let alone to a freakin' retard's shennanigans. Anyhoo, I could use a little practice in match write-ups (as who knows, I may actually win a game at some point).

CDS - Khemri vs. Halflings
stabby playing Halflings? Well, RK was saying he wanted to get a match in before his bedtime, and, seeing as how the CDS league only takes fresh rookie teams, the only team I had laying around was a Halfling team that I most probably put together while quite drunk. Had to trim them down a bit to get some extra inducement cash (which I didn't completely use up as the time limit kicked in while I was looking over the extra options I wasn't used to seeing), and got the essentials of star player Zara and the good ol' Halfling Chef.

First half began with RK choosing to receive, and as you can imagine, it didn't take that long for my defensive line to crumble. Quickly parking his ball carrier next to the endzone, RK's gameplan then focused on keeping the trees marked and proceeding to gang-foul the shit out of Zara, who was face down near the left side of the pitch, at the centre line. My response was to quickly initiate plan "It's Raining Halflings, Hallelujah!" as one of my trees started chucking every available halfling towards the endzone (causing 2 casualites and a death), since Zara was taking those boots to her tits like a damned champ, and whoever survived their landing (two did) then pulled kamikaze blitzes on the Throw-Ra holding the ball as assists just weren't going to happen.

Yup, single Halflings blitzing a stronger player with block. Repeatedly. The first couple of attempts were with the Throw-Ra on the edge of the field and risking (albeit at a slight possibilty) getting himself crowd-surfed, and when he took a safer spot in near the center of the field, my blitzes were actually aimed to push him into the endzone if I connected with a push. Finally RK got nervous enough to score earlier than planned, leaving me with two turns in the half to tie it up. And without fail, Nuffle decides to be a bastard as the kickoff starts with the Blitz event, though perhaps RK got a little cocky as after making sure the my Trees were marked just enough, he pushed the rest of his players down the right side of the pitch to chase after the ball, leaving his half wide open for some fine, young halfling to fly into. Picked up the ball without a hitch, got it to the plucky projectile in wait next to the tree on the left, knocked down his marker, and crossed my fingers as I set up the flight down field... only to watch the 'fling land right back into the square he was in, thankfully on his feet. Having an 'Oh shit!' moment, RK quickly repositioned his players as best he could to try to mark a potential scorer, leaving gaps in the tackle zones to try and get a better coverage, because since when does a Halfling land where he's aimed?

Without fail, Nuffle proves to be a magnificent bastard as not only does my halfling land in that little gap, he lands and makes his 2 GFIs to score without a reroll.

Second half ... well this one just came down to attrition. I started with 9 players to RK's 11, and in getting the Perfect Defense event at the kickoff, RK was a little more prudent in his positioning. I couldn't get a hold of the damn ball (8% ball possession, R00fles!), and did my best to split RK's attention on the field as I kept a couple of halflings next to my trees as potential scorers, and Zara quickly made it on her back to soak up the gang fouling (RK finally managed a KO on turn 14), so I once again resorted to kamikaze blitzin' tactics once RK got a hold of the ball. I was a little more prudent in it this time around (as assists were an option at times), but he did a good job of moving out of range and keeping my boys marked. My last turn had me try to dodge away from three players to see if I could perhaps luck out on a crowd surf and ball scattering out of reach, only to fail the GFI needed to blitz.

RK scored for a 2-1 win. And I'm taking bets on how long a 1ST halfling will survive.

TL;DR version:

CDS - Dwarves vs Necromantic

I have to say, I was never really sure why dwarves are as seriously uncool as they are because I've never actually played against them seriously.

But then I started playing as d0rfs. In the first 4 or something turns, cheddar has already lost a zombie, a wight, a ghoul and a wolf to hurt/kos, while the best he could do against me were like two or something stuns. His flesh golems kept getting mercilessly downed by trorr slayers (or blockers because one of them had dodge), and a couple of really bad doges (with ag4 wolves, too) set him on a total downbound train. Setting a non-developed necromantic team against omniblock dwarves is a real pain train.

Best Formation is Best

Tried to go for some fancy passing game with Humans. Skipped the Ogre, toughest opening game with plenty of block and tackles - at least they're slow.
I setup for a 2 turn TD to make things exciting - but failed a dodge on the LOS - ending my turn early, thankfully the thrower already had the ball, ready to fire off a scoring pass assist on next turn.
Were it not for some horrid injury dice next turn. Two players were taken out in quick succession. One Lineman is going to miss the next game and a Lineman named Blitzer will play no further part in this match due to injury.
One of my Catcher who is actually a Blitzer managed to kill a dwarf blocker in retaliation - but the apothecary saved him.

Two stuns on my two Blitzers named Catchers took out two receiving options afterwards. I think I tried a blitz dodge for one of the receivers and failed - ending my turn again.
A Blitzer who is actually a thrower got surfed as a result - earning him a Badly Hurt. Suddenly I'm down 3 players. With plenty of KO and stuns, I finished the half with 5 players on the field but managed to miraculously keep the score at 0-0

The second drive was a bloody one, but we didnt' lose anymore player - playing with 4 man down I tried my best shot at stopping their drive - or forcing an early score.
They eventually grinded the TD on turn 14. Leaving me with 3 turns to score. Finale hinges on a pass by a Catcher named Lineman... using all his 8 MA+2 GFI in 'Very Sunny' weather.
He got a perfect launch - but the catch by Lineman named Lineman critically failed, ending any chance of equalizer.

Thrilling match, this.

Nurgle this time. Ugh. Fucking disgusting Finns. I decided not to change anything and went in with one missing lineman. Bought a bloodweiser babe with the inducement.

Rolled a receive and decided not to bother with bashing - we'll pass again.
And successfully bypass the lines totally -with the Sweltering Heat Weather threatening the 2nd half.
I just don't feel like playing with half team knocked out so I decided to rush a TD.
A Lineman who is actually a Catcher gets a handover and finished the TD cleanly.

BB_LE%202013-12-26%2022-23-41-40.jpg

1-0 and the weather changed to nice weather. Nurgle advances forward with safe caging .
But Humpalekke's cage failed to cover all holes and the plucky humans manage to sneak in a 1D Block to dispossess the ball carrier just as the cage is 7 tiles away from the endzone.
As the carrier gets stunned, the Blitzer caught the ball. He still has the ball next turn - the Nurgles unable to free it from his grasp.
Sensing an opportunity - a quick handover to a Lineman who is actually a Catcher was made and he burned 8 MA twice to make the score 2-0 before halftime.

2nd Half the Nurgles seems to have discovered their bash game and killed a Blitzer who is actually a Lineman. In the confusion that ensues, the Coach called apo to give him a Broken Neck instead (-1AG).

A further block leads to another casualty as well, this time to Thrower, who is actually a Lineman. He is badly hurt and unable to coninue. And for the final insult, this time a real Lineman is handed his retirement notice with a Damaged Back (Niggling)

Sensing that the whole game is already won and no point in sacrificing more blood - the humans decided to let the Nurgle score to make it 1-2. The fourth drive of the game has the 5 SPP Lineman who is actually a thrower passing the ball to another Lineman who is actually a Catcher at their own Endzone. Out of three, they fumbled once before two Nurgle Warriors decided to end this charade, making 2 GFIs each with no reroll - foul penis erect - ready to dock.

This forces the two humans to cancel their catching practice - launching the ball far into the Nurgle's field - leading to a turnover but rendering a tyingTouchdown impossible as the game ends 2-1 in Humans' favor

He trimmed down the goat to 2 in his roster I think. Rotters are cheap and good. AV8 , ST3 AG3 MA5.
No Apo though, and that costed him a rotter.

Nobody leveled up tho in our game. I was kinda disappointed the foulings in later drives did not yield result.
Was starting to think Nuffle is being too kind. Hahaha.
Nice game. We were really stretching our MA and dodges to the max.
Tense finish, but I knew Accurate was the right pick for first level up ^_^

Jaedar just showed the world how a 4 rat team is supposed to be played.

Yes, the rats finish the 3rd drive with just 3 rats on the field, but it was 2-0 up to the rats.

Instead of going after the 31 SPP Gutter Runner in retaliation - the Chaos String Theorist went for a consolation TD, earning the nickname - 'Ingrid Borealis' amongst the Codex Space Marine Chapter for the ability to snatch derp from the jaws of defeat.

hmm.gif

Nuffles is not pleased.

Many chances to blitz 31 SPP with no block was spurned, in favor of blitzing a 0 SPP Gutter Runner for what purpose?

For this reason alone, we place Jaedar under suspect of heresy and collusion with Chaos - may the Emperor grant forgiveness to him in the afterlife when we meet on the final match day - for I have none to spare one tainted with the fur.

Skyrim debuts against the old, technologically limited Planetscape is kinda hard to quantify into actual results.
Yes, we lost 1-0 but I think we had a good show, just slightly annoyed by the injury rolls against us. Equally frustrating is the fact that we've scored 5-6 armor breaks from our 7 mod-boosted fouls and still couldn't get more than one or two casualty.

Overall, the Norse team is a really good, solid dirty team, but their lack of speed (and maybe my lack of familiarity) contributed to the downfall. I was playing it realllllly safe too. First drive - the only reroll I made was on a wolf 2D blitz - which he flunked of course, so I rerolled - and got 2 both downs. Ah well. At least he has no loner to further frustrate me, his unreliability can be solved in just 6 SPP.

I can see how most Norse players would be frustrated when the block dices are going nowhere, and their own AV rolls are failing. Heck, even my wolf got badly hurt - I rerolled Apo just to recover our momentum (Yes, we lost more players to open blocks due to the AV7). Losing players is a problem but the solution is quite obvious - pack in more linos. Don't be too obsessed with quality line up - expensive players clad in AV7 can really hurt your team's ability to recover when he's hurt on the field - better to just skip that 2nd Berserker & Werewolf (200k!) & spend that money on 3-4 Lineman that can foul, eat LOS blocks, and still cause the occasional turnover on both downs. The enemy is already being very cautious about using Rookie lino to block yours, so add an extra dimension of offense by grooming 1-2 Lineman into Dirty Players. Get a knock down on a mid-range value players (Blitzers are prime, skip Big Guys unless you can get 4-5 Assist) call in the linos and swing the boot. Succeed and your 50TV player just took out nearly double his worth. That's something to celebrate. Tactical fouls also work when it's late game and the result is more or less secure - or heck, it's an open league game - who gives a shit - foul with your star player to protect them from being killed, farm SPP passes when the game isn't going anywhere! I did!

Now to the actual end result itself, we hardly scored any SPPs here. One successful pass was all we had to show for it. The second pass we made was a scatter launch, but a RR caught it. Somehow. Still, receiver got 2D blitzed - and 3 markers on the ball. I decided to just try and score 2 SPP with 2D blocks near the end. No dice. I had 2 RRs left over when the full time whistle blows. It was a good tight match, and I feel I need more time to familiarize myself with their crowd-surfing potential. I had a few situations where it could've made a difference but the new frenzy setup takes time to figure out.

MVP went to the lineman who is missing next game. And our thrower has 1 SPP ^_^
Good game Hoverdog.

From my experience in playing Norsemen it is absolutely necessary to purchase two werewolves right from the start. First thing is that having two ST4 guys can be crucial when fighting against bashy teams like Chaos or Orcs. Second, wolfies need those SPPs quickly, for block, and with two the chance to get MVP is effectively doubled, not to mention more opportunities for casualties or even a TD.

My Coach name is Rogue Zombie. Someone invite me to some scrub league please.

Do I have to wait to create a team till I am invited to the league?
