I'm playing Wizardry Daphne, it's quite nice. Played about 1h, explored the first dungeon floor and killed the first boss. Very nice presentation and controls overall, really makes me wish for a proper Wizardry for PCs...

As for the gacha stuff, you find/buy bones of adventures you resurrect using your magical powers. At first seems easy, you get like 20 free characters from the start.... But they have passive skills, spells and abilities that are learned by fusing them with other characters. So even if you are happy with the first fighter you get, you'll want to get more characters with good skills to feed into your fighter.

Loot is also gacha, you find broken remains in treasures & quests rewards are must be "recovered" using your power. So the real question is if you can you beat the endgame without paying / farming for gacha drops.

One thing that is really clever is the presentation. They solved the "blobber" thing by making so that you are an actual character that explores & attacks in 1st person, but your party is right next to you. You can't see them while exploring, but they will appear during combat - melee fighters run to attack, archers, mages and clerics step beside you to shoot arrows / cast spells. Also, the whole party is visible around you once the battle is over, doing a sort of celebration (kinda like in Dragon's Dogma 2). Cool stuff, would like to see this sort of presentation in more blobbers in the future.
You can actually play it?

I just get black screen after loading with my android phone and my tablet even after the latest server mainentances. Seems like common issue on people.

Score so far is 2,4 on playstore. I never seen this low score on a game. 3 days of not working...with low score, i guess they can say good bye to general audience. No sane person ever would touch mobile game that is reviewed so low. To be fair i think issues in launches are quite common, but never heard of having this long critical issues. I wonder if this end up as another EOS game.

A lot of gigs. It eats up space but yeah. Let me try right now with about zilch net (maybe it stores data)

Yep, I can play it. Tired of being a ghul in this tutorial. Basics blah blah mostly try to avoid fights as you don't heal unless thats a bug. I screenshotted the maintenance shit. So, i guess online to update certain things which means at many times I could be playing a buggy game.

Yes, but an expanded version of that. It's in several small details beyond combat, from the post-combat celebration to opening chests, equipping items, resting at inns and even traps. Like, I was about to step on a spike trap, but the Thief in the party succeeded in the trap skill check so he appeared and pulled me back, saving me from the trap. Very well done.

However, I found the real money sink of the game - resurrections. The mad lads made a gacha game with permadeath. You can resurrect dead characters at the temple, but cheap resurrection will deplete their resilience, making them harder to resurrect. Low-star gacha characters have lower resilience, so the fancy 5-star ones can survive mistakes longer. And you'll probably not want to risk losing them permanently, so will pay premium for resurrection.

I guess this also explains why the game feels rater brutal... enemies hit HARD and can sometimes attack your fragile backrow characters.

So, that's how whales will go further. Can you end up locked down to nothing with no characters and can't play anymore?

There is also a sort of "free look" with a mag glass you you can swivel and look at sky, floor, etc. I guess this reminds me a little of MMX just a tad.

Well, I rather like this one. It isn't like gachas I've played in the past. It seems pretty decent esp for english. It does take some wifi and my near dead zone makes a lot run forever with black screen like turning bones and junk into adventurers & items. It is annoying. I'd trying to get a mage and rogue in my party. I already gave that dwarf warrior and an elf priest who is very snooty and evil. Lotta stuff to claim and lots of apologies I have read. I'll definitely add this into my ios adventure catalog.

What is the little lock you can click on each adventurer (upper right corner on each profile)?

Ugh! I wondered why the screen went black upon trying to enter the dungeon. I gave up last night and shut the phone all the way off. I turned it on this morning and it informed me there was a mandatory 5gb download. I knew this thing said 20gb possibly but sheesh... in increments. First was 1.5, then near 3 now 5+. I'm running out of space. That will be the thing that makes me give up on this game for ios. Fuck. And I actually like this game.

Time to bike to town to update I guess.

Is anyone else playing this. I had one patch take so long I was able to hear the whole intro music loop for a while.

I can only play it off and on so I am not far at all. I finally beat first boss and hit floor 2. I imagine if you suck too bad you'll eventually have no party. I try to be extra careful and I had one huge fuckup because my wifi practically destroyed a character i res from bones and it was one of those more special bones you get. Yep, I couldn't register this named adventurer. Kept booting me from game with noise anomalies. And she was a mage too. Well, my plain jane elf mage just absorbed her so not a total loss. Unnamed regs don't have any extra speech chatter, they're silent.

There are still a lot of gachas. You could grind I guess. Low level mobs can hit hard at times and my wizardry skills are a bit rusty. So, I guess I weenie out a bit not risking too much. Gold is a bitch and I have to consider what to sell and use and upgrade. I try not to hoard. Mobs don't drop gold. Random chests do appear. Getting my rogue up is a plus and he's absorbed a few rando rogues skills. I need to find like a boneyard full of bodies as they're like currency.

I decided to try it out of morbid curiosity and it's surprisingly not bad. Maybe my expectations were just too low and I expected it to be pure unadulterated dogshit given that it's a mobile game, but seems like a decent crawler so far. Art/visuals are pretty good too.

Those bosses are no joke. That second one was nasty. And I forgot to screenie it. It hit hard and poisoned and I forgot to bring antidote. Temple is now open. There's probably another boss on level 2 since it wasn't a ladder. I just opened up the second Harken stone is all.

When I hear of dude saying in one hour they're already on level 4-6+ I have to really question if they're not whaling.

Like all gachas the walls you hit are there so that leaves grinding. I have lvl 6-7 slobs with mildly upgraded bronze gear. Nothing special. Actually, I think more than a few pieces are old starter shit.

And naming chars isn't type name but some rando shiz.

Now, I can't recommend it at all. Somehow I am subscribed to zelle now and banking bullshit and I never gave permission or bought anything from this. I only accepted a friend request in game. Now I had to lock my bank account and will have to talk to fraud department.

So... DELETE!!

Well, maybe it was just coincidence a scammer hit me and I jump to conclusions.

Another 4+ gig patch. I can't dl that atm. I'm running out of space. I'll have to delete no matter what.

There are a few. Honestly. I'm invested in the story and wish i had another account to fully blog it. I'd even make my own banter.

For you they in slow motion or not?
wait 50 seconds. 1 line of text
screen shakes for 2-3 minutes. 1 line of text "Oh no curse of fucked up roots."
wait 2 minutes, "story text" touch the statue 1 tile ahead

Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I just finished the 'tutorial', i.e. BF8 and have to say I am really pleasantly surprised. The game keeps getting better and better and some of the small creative decisions really add up to give it an amazing flavor/atmosphere. Some examples are the head bobbing and weaving, which is utilized just enough to enhance immersion and restrained enough not to get annoying. Created some memorable moments like my fighter asking 'wanna see something awesome?' before nuking a boss and saving my depleted party. I also like how the party quips and comments after fights while venturing forth. The first time it happened I thought it's the best thing since the banter in Wiz 8 and couldn't believe that no one else implemented something like that before. Though they should look into the script for the voice lines and only trigger on or two party members at a time, since sometimes it seems play everyone at once and you can't understand shit. Might have to do with the double speed setting though, not sure but seemed it happened more often then.
Also liked that they took the idea of bone collecting from Blade & Bastards (the 'official' Wizardry fanfic by Kumo Kaguyo also recommended) and turned it into a game mechanic for gacha and story elements. As far as the gacha goes at the moment it feels completely optional. Playing the first week I got 3 or 4 guaranteed legendaries one of which even lets you choose which character you want. They all have some nice passive bonus but aside from the Paladin Lady none of them are impactful enough to be noticed. And the Palalady passive seems to be a typical beginner/QoL skill. It heals 12hp after battle, which is amazingly convenient in the beginning and quickly becomes meaningless since enemies hit so hard that and are resilient enough that you cant cheese the system any longer. The non-legendary characters (especially the named ones) are so far absolutely on par with the legendaries. If someone ever finds out the actual umbers for the discipline mechanic, they might even be better. Stats wise it also seems the lower rarities have a slight edge since they seem to have more bonuspoints, but that might just be the RNG of my characters, since the sample size is so small. My MVP fighter for example is just a regular bigtiddy beastfolk and still out DPSses everyone aside from the rare nuke everything mage turns ofc.
Where you can p2w is with the weapons and equipment. Since there is a sword for sale with the Palalady that hits 3 times instead of twice. Again, that might also be a trap or even out later since you need duplicates to upgrade your weapons to higher levels which might make the limited weapons worse in the late game.
The permadeath/resurrection mechanic also is more flavor than a real hinderance. As long as your characters have more than 50 resilience, the resurrections is guaranteed to succeed. And the characters restore Res in real time (i think 1 point every few minutes). I only had to res a character once (
DON'T go into the goblin Den
) and the resilience went up back to 100 without issue, no loss of vitality either.
Not sure what else to add as far as first impressions go. The artstyle is definitly on the anime side (think Labyrinth of Lost Souls). Oh and the Ninja or Fairy from the picture aren't in the game yet as far as I can tell. Class changing seems to already be implemented but I'm only just past level 20, so can't tell how it works.
I would definitely recommend giving it a try. It's free and surprisingly faithful in many ways. If you are not 100% against anime tiddies then I'm pretty sure you'll have fun at enough to clear it once.
