Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Indeed. When they gave the warning I was around Level 9 or something, so I went back at 13 and thought I'd be fine. I wasn't.
The Fighter is Chloe. The best part is that her inherit skill is Warcry. Which I didn't find useful outside of the BF8 Boss fight, so you don't lose out on anything by making her an active character and can even safe dupes to discipline her.

What are the differences between the japanese Wizardry games? They all seem to be just clones of wiz1 with few differences.

Daphne is a pleasant surprise for sure. I usually don't play mobile games, but decided to try this one out of curiosity.

Apart from connection issues during the first few days, I didn't encounter any issues and enjoyed the presentation and dungeoneering in the tutorial area. Looking forward to seeing what else the game has to offer.

Here's a list of them: https://wizardry.wiki.gg/wiki/Wizardry_(franchise)

Using this list's categories, the Gaiden and Starfish games are mostly Wizardry V clones, with a few tweaks like new classes, races or features like dual-wielding. Their goal was basically to do Wiz V again, just more refined.

The BUSIN modernize the series more, going 3D and having a far more involved story. Xth are an anime-like spin-off, being more story-heavy, and with a very different setting (later would become the spin-off series Generation Xth).

Then you get the Wizardry Renaissance ones, which were a bunch of different studios releasing Wizardry games for the series' 30th anniversary. There's new stuff like the Wizardry MMO, but also stuff like Labyrinth of Lost Souls, which is very boring Wizardry 1 clone that adds nothing new.

IMHO, the BUSIN games are great for those looking for a modernized take on Wizardry (while still being very hardcore), and the Five Ordeals re-release on Steam is perfect for those who want to go old-school. I haven't played all the others, but I feel the consensus is that they're not must-plays, you might have a better time playing non-Wizardry games first, like Elminage, Undernauts or Etrian Odissey.

Daphne is fun for sure. The gacha is atrocious but you can very well do everything so far without the super rare adventurers anyway. And having the characters not only being a number in a sheet helps a lot as well with the fun. They certainly takes from 8 with the personalities.

Supposedly also takes a lot from BUSIN with the plot not just being excuse plot.

There is also C&C!

I ignore the pay gacha. If this game was left to further leveling there are dudes who'd be max likely that aren't gacha. You can grind away but there is shit I'm just not figuring out so easily. Meh! A few more levels and I FINALLY hit lvl 20 compared to the probably hundreds of players who could be level 60 or more on every alt and max out their bond-mates and gear, and who knows how many inherited traits.

Here's hoping they do a repacked offline version of Daphne for PC. That odd wizardry rougelike gacha from years ago got that treatment... Although I believe it's been pulled from steam for some reason.

42 classes? Zoiks!
Seems to be real classes too, with stuff like enchanter and geomancer and artificer instead of every permutation of fighter/mage/thief/cleric multiclasses. Though a lot of the classes seemed like jokes, like beggar and leper. Portraits and monsters have a nice artstyle, but the 3D of the dungeon is ugly. Most importantly, no stats screen displayed, so no idea if it's a proper game or one of those super minimalistic things where everyone has 3 stats and one spell.

I still need to kill Helmut or w/e his name is. I shouldn't have approached after killing the two greater warped ones. Basically, try to dodge enemies and run straight to him or clear as many and heal up at the two camp sites at earlier levels. Much of my party is generic and we were depleted. He killed me.... use a flame and i retreated.

And even killing the greater warped one lord... the town still executes you........ and credits roll. The ghost wants to see me return as a ghost.

"When you're also a ghost, come and see me in the Abyss"

You even slowly walk up the wooden structure to the guillotine. Pelted with rocks, boos at me. No lavender-haired guild maid pussy & tits for my bedchamber..... Lulu would probably watch and comment like a spectral perv. Meh! Who am I kidding? I was a ghul anyways.

Is there any sign of Daphne getting a proper PC release in the future, or is it doomed to forever be mobile gatcha shit, ie - something I'll never play?

Maybe if a hacker gets it but remember, this game is technically still in development. New content will be added, shit tweaked, etc etc. I never got to play Wizardry Online or w/e it was called (Wizardry Live). Japs killed it i hear in 2016 I guess. But look at what people did with Ultima Online and making an offline game there. Who knows. But, how many online games get turned to offline? Not many I'd wager.

How's the stability of Daphne? Looking into picking it up (may go as far as to get a new phone to do so) but I've heard the game is plagued with some really nasty bugs. Is this still a problem?

It is ok. I must suck though because I just don't know how to increase my gear much as I never have the components nor do i ever seem to inherit abilities. Bones get rarer to find but shit items and gold isn't a problem. Grinding is possible but with my shit wifi I just barely get daily shit done before i quit for the day. I have shit to do and this game with bad connections can eat up the hours. If my laptop worked and I had a fantastic connection I'd be a bit more thorough in my gaming here. It is TB, and simple but damn.. at level 24 I feel like a POS in comparison to the playerbase and I don't think they're all whales or dolphins but just know exactly what and when the fuck to do certain things. Maybe they take more risks.

An example, I can't make any of my gears above +4 even with enough materials. Maybe the item needs more stars (they go from 1-5). So... to do this unless you find an item with more stars you have to combine items (refining them I think). I know items can go up to +10 but that's just the beginning. Item have special ore colors depending if your item is white, green, blue, purple, red (red being highest), and each item has specials they can have or you can invest in if you know the circumstances. Bah! The smithing seems complicated or hard. You know those stupid games where 3 combine into 1 greater item? You sort of have to do that in this game. Low items easy.. combining higher is much more difficult.

Characters can do all sorts of weird shit like inheriting abilities off of other characters. You do that and the one you inherited the ability from is eradicated. But maybe you'll find more bones and resurrect those into another character as a resource to inherit. Bondmates to find and level that enhance you. Promotions seem in line with old wizardry if you qualify. Ugh! I really have no fucking idea what I'm doing. I muddled through the girst part and got executed credits rolled... second part opened up.

I can only say try it and judge for yourself. Maybe I suck now at RPGs. I need other codexian opinions on the game tbh.

guess i'll pass then. uninstalled it when it stopped working with another eden around year ago. don't want to shit my disk with yet another emulator just for one game.

it only works with BS because it requires pretty high version of anroid which iirc no other emulator is on

just migrate all your game to BS
