    A. Bad Sekhe, now let's play a little punishment game :smug:

For the Vajra, are you sure that we can still use it?

I have a hunch that Edem. and Sekhenun are related in some way. Brother/sister, nephew/aunt or mother/son(in which case, MILF. I kinda hope it's the latter now).
treave: if we survive this, have Ean ask him what house he is from.

I don't get what Sekhenun was trying to do here. She makes a deal with Edem to off Nusku but then forgets to tell us about it? Was she hopping we would kill Nusku and Edem? Why would she bother with that when we were already planning to kill them all anyway? Doesn't make sense.

This situation was probably not her doing. She herself said that assassinations will have to wait until Marduk leaves. Then again, he practically left already. It is a possibility, but a slim one. The other possibilities are:
    a) "Ololo, ai ihz smhart." Makes a deal with Edem, but tells us nothing because we did not make a deal. Then Edem sees this magnificent opportunity and presents Nusku on a silver platter. Likely and plausible, but I hope Sekhenun is not that fucking retarded.
    b) She makes an impromptu fake deal with Edem and delivers us two Gieloth in one neat bundle. That means Marduk already left, or she changed her mind because an opportunity presented itself. Again, very likely and very smart. Very much like Sekhenun.
    c) Sekhenun and the conspiracy were discovered and they are now purging Ean. Unlikely, seeing as that would bring Marduk down to the camp, but plausible.
I need some input here. Somebody who's good at theories.

From the depths of the Abyss, through the thousand twisting currents, through unfathomable distances, I summon Esquilax! Rise, rise and give me knowledge!

I think that a) is most likely from your options. Possibly we would have learned about Edem had we taken her deal. And had we chosen to assassinate him before she would have also warned us that he is working with her (or maybe not).

In b) she would also have to make sure to tell us what she is doing to ensure that we kill both of them. Otherwise there is a very real possibility that we will believe Edem and let him live. It certainly sounds like the most reasonable course of action to me right now (unless something changes in the next update).

In c) there is no way they would send just Nusku and Edem plus a few soldiers (super or not) against an entire hostile village and us, the person that destroyed an entire army and two of Marduk’s best generals. Also, Nusku would not be ignorant of our presence and I doubt he would willingly play the bait for us.

    d) Edem is playing his own game and just fucking with you. Also he is actually Shulgi. If a Gieloth can project a human presence, surely a skilled immortal can project a Gieloth presence

    You being serious here, treavebro?
But, yeah. It is also plausible that Edem connected the dots where Marduk didn't and decided to check his hunch. Revenge or throwing down Marduk, maybe getting rid of that annoying twat.

It is I, Esquilax, terrifying creature of the Abyss: a horse, with the head of a rabbit and the body... of a rabbit.

I actually think this has been going on for a while. It was hinted that Nabu and Sekhenun knew each other and had spoken before the Battle of Tjaru:

Whatever plans Sekhenun has had in the region, I think that she has been going at this for a long time. Of course, Ean came to Egypt and chopped her head off, then he killed Nabu, which really threw a wrench in the works. It's only now that Edem is with us and we are working directly alongside her that she has the opportunity to really set whatever plans she has into motion. It's fair to assume at this point that Edem, much like his pa, doesn't really see eye to eye with Marduk. He's probably going to want our help to defeat Marduk. Edem wants the same arrangement that Nabu wanted to make.

The only thing that confuses me is why Sekhenun didn't tell us about the Gieloth going after the tribesmen if she knew that we were heading there.

Since we don't have any earthquakes to pull out of our ass at this point, we should go along with Edem and agree to volunteer. He's already spotted us in the crowd, he's going to find us if we attempt to run. Goddamnit, we should have gone after this motherfucker. This is the siege tower all over again. We would have used our status as a blank to hunt down Edem, then captured Nusku. He would turn the remaining Gutians into Space Marines, then present them to Marduk before he leaves. At that point, we would give our men the signal to swarm him and we'd fucking take him out. It would have been glorious, bros.

... or Edem would see us coming and mindrape us. Either one.

    A

The Mexican Gieloth cartel is really fucking pissed with Marduk for invading India, but they're going to settle China's shit first before doing anything about him. If there is anything else going on, particularly in Sumeria, it isn't via long-distance comms. You'll have to ask around.

SHE SPIED ON YOU AND WAS JEALOUS YOU WERE GETTING ON SO WELL WITH SOME BARBARIAN WOMAN!!! It wasn't coincidence Nusku attacked right when he did.

Serious answer: Mistakes happen. People get unlucky. A single messenger dying while fleeing from some random Gutian bandits could change the course of an entire war, for example.

I don't think we ever had the option of going after Edem for our voting choices. I thought it was because he was beyond our power-range and so Sek was saving him for later. It could have also been because Sek wanted him alive, just as much.

Voting A, we'll see where this goes. I wish we had some way to absorb select parts of an enemy's memory so we can finally make our spheece mheerenes

Murder the Hypotenuse, huh? That's some seriously Yandere shit there. and yet...I don't mind.
And we must not rule out the possibility of Sekhenun using us and then stabbing us in the back, honorable and trusting idiot that we are. For all we know she's just suppressing her powers.

I don't think B will work. Edem spotted us in an instance so ambushing will likely fail. Let's just hope we can pull miracle out of our ass.

I have not seen a Gioleth lie yet.

It just pisses me off a bit that if the hivemind had not gotten all manly and decided to swing their dick around (honorblade) and lock up our powers earlier we could be here now with both blade and powers intact.

Right now helping Sekhenun is also giving us a decent support network to eat people and get our powers up to snuff. Quid pro quo. But I think at some point in the future we're going to need to demand answers from her before we finish the job. Remember, she never did help us get our powers back (through no fault of her own, but that's beside the point). We have no obligation to her and we don't want to be a blind weapon wielded by someone else all the time.

treave, how does our "psychic blank" status work? We're "not there psychically", but Edem can still talk to us telepathically and I'm assuming read our minds as well. I'm assuming that this ability we have just means that we don't give off a psychic signature that gives away our location, but that people can mindrape us and read our thoughts like they could before. Is that the case?

    On another note,

    So... Gieloth have multiple brains.

Wishful thinking, but I hope that Gudersu's tribe tries to track us down and rescue us. Without any backup, I doubt that Edem can take on several hundred pissed off barbarians and Ean at the same time. Nusku is a complete pushover, not worried about him.

  24. A - Knew the hidden one would go after the kids. G could have had the situation handled on his own. Should have gone with c. Oh, well.

I'm thinking Edem is Nabu somehow. That could explain how he found us so quick and why Nabu didn't try to strike at us after we dropped him in the pit - he was transferring his mind to Edem?

Well, I guess we could have trusted Nabu to honor his deal to a point, but that was before we knew about Gieloth and their deals. Also, we're kinda using Marduk to off Greece and their "gods" so in a way it's a good thing we hadn't killed him back then. Given that and what the lack of info we had at the time, it was the best choice we could make - now saving Theseus on the other hand...

    Re: blank stuff

Yeah, you are undetectable, and a void. That doesn't mean you can't be affected by psychic mindfuckery, particularly if the user is strong and has visual or physical contact. Reading or scrambling your mind would be difficult, but doable. Now if you had shadow powers to boot...
