Why don't you craft a solid historic deck and farm events for golds / ICR instead ?

Much more efficient imo, and you can use gains to buy packs

Been toying with the idea, the problem is historic is more complicated than standard and not sure I have time to craft a unique deck at this time.

I guess I could craft a flavor of the week deck though.

WB auras is excellent in bo1 events, gobbos too and they're both very far from flavor of the week !

Apparently UB rogue is killing it in bo1 events too, though I can't vouch for it but it makes sense.

Histo isn't that much more complex than standard, if you managed to reach std mythic you'll do better than fine !

during current historic brawl im not seeing degenerate decks, which is quite surprising experience. I wonder if algorithms gotten better or something? Played only twice against 5 color abominations, not a single emry(perhaps joined 5 color commanders?)

sticking mostly to my 2 decks, pirates and terraforming korvold. That land sacc deck is really growing on me with each h brawl festival.
Liked korvold since he was spoiled but I couldnt find enjoyable shell for him. Also was always surprised that he isnt more popular

yea just play a 1/4 do nothing creature on turn 3, hope it lives for 2 turns so you can cast a 5 mana spell and roll 4d30 to try to hit a free zenith flare and do like 5 damage to something
meanwhile just ignore opponent's turn 3 great henge infinite card draw infinite life gain and endless army of pushed creatures that replace themselves when cast or ignore your opponent's hand full of 2 cmc counter spells and the army of flashed flyers

at least that's how I think magic plays out? idk haven't touched in half a year

You jest, but there are decks based on this principle.

Mostly based on this card, which lets you get out things like the Ugin planeswalker on turn 2.

There are plenty of methods to deal with 1/1 creature spam these days too. There is a 3 cmc (creature) board wipe card now too.

Cards are stronger now than ever, I had to make new decks for this set. I always used to just go full scry lands and board wipe on turn 4. But the cards are too powerful now, I need to be able to answer stuff on turn 2+ or you can just lose. Tibalt's etc. Same goes at all later turns, the Ultimatums and stuff, if you let one of those play then it can end the game easily. So I started using lots of counterspells and instant removals. Now I exile/counter their henge or whatever and ruin their flow. I also have a creature deck that is fast enough to screw all these combo decks. They try to go for their combo and I win a turn earlier.

Turn 4 prismatic bridge.

Ur welcome.

This is one of those goofball cards I just tried out for no real reason other than autism, and its actually helped me win quite a few games at the mythic level (check my previous decklist). I haven't seen many retards playing the enchantment side.

I actually won after my opponent cast Emergent Ultimatum yesterday!
I got him to 13 on turn 3, and then he Languished my team on turn 4. I had Embercleave in my hand and would have killed him next turn if he hadn't Languished.
He casts Emergent Ultimatum, showed Liliana, Dreadhorde General, Nissa Who Shakes the World, and Vorinclex.
I send back Liliana.
He animates a land to 6/6 and attacks for 12 with the land and Vorinclex.
On my turn, I Claim his land, attack, drop Embercleave for 14 damage.

Why wouldn't he drop the planeswalker + vorinclex to trigger her ultimate?

I got beaten by embercleave yesterday, I managed to remove 3 embercleaves on 3 consecutive turns, but the retard had a 4th one in his hand and beat me.

I was like da fugg *table flip*

It would be easier and less opportunity cost to ramp into Ultimatums or Prismatic Bridge than trying to build around Codex. If Standard has shown anything, it's that it's pretty easy to ramp to 7.

And honestly Prismatic Bridge is pretty shit, and doesn't work with Codex in the first place since it's a permanent.

I was just thinking of maybe a mono green exclusively big creature / plainswalker deck (or possibly a dual color deck) with this card as an option. Like you have esika for your mana ramp, but if the opportunity exists for fuckery why not drop the prismatic bridge.

Hell, this might actually get me to build a monocolor deck come to think of it. The butthurt of turn after turn of 8/8 or 10/10 monsters coming out for free would be fun.

???
bridge is an enchantment, codex can't fetch it
unless i'm missing something?

if you want to play big creature casino just ramp to temporal gateway for turn 4 Gishath and shit out a bunch of dinos in one turn
at least that way, you get to play with dinos, which are based
HandyNaturalBats-max-1mb.gif

Yah, i mean you'd have to cast the bridge first for that to work, but esika works as a mana ramp card either way.

It's one of those combos you likely wouldn't get off much in a mono colored deck. I guess it's possible if you have enough legendary creatures to tap for any color, or some other form of add any color land available.

I'm just spitballing a theory here right now, i'll probably test it out a bit after the reset because I'm a retard, I think anything with the codex in it would probably work best as a dual colored deck with some form of red damage blasting.

As with most decks, I won't know if it works until I actually play it.

Dude once bridge is out it doesn't matter. You can still PUT permanents onto the battlefield and if ur bridge gets destroyed you can still blast double red spells every turn.

Not sure why ur getting upset about this.

It's a fair enough theory for me to at least test out even if you don't understand what I'm saying.
