Not gonna lie: I will test out a remastered ME1... FOR SCIENCE!
After ME2 I never managed to force me into replaying the first part, it just... everything was sooo much worse mechanically. :(

It was also a pretty short game if you remove the driving parts actually.

Imagine having the first remaster that people are actually excited about in your catalog and skipping so many chances to announce it that the release date gets leaked via a cellphone camera and a CRT monitor.

Also imagine creating an imaginary holiday on November 7th for the last decade and even naming your remaster N7, but not waiting an extra 5 weeks to release it on N7 day.

I can't believe anyone would actually be excited for this.

ME1 was the last bioware game I liked and depending on what they did I might be willing to slap down $10 for it. But its probably going to be 4x that with added tranny sex so I'm guessing I'll give it a pass.

Unless then tranny is hot. Then all bets are off.

That release date is pretty fucking close for them to have said nothing about it at all.

Yeah, that makes me pretty skeptical. Have we gotten a really solid leak that this even exists? Last one I remember talked about all the games moving to the Andromeda engine and expanded sex scenes, which both sounded like total bullshit.

Yeah, that's going to happen. Might as well promise every game having cooldown weapons, a double-barreled black hole gun and a jetpack propelled by Shepard's farts. (which also smell like roses)

Mass Effect Remastered N7 Trilogy Pre-Orders Spotted Online
"UK gamers have been able to pre-order the game."

A few days ago we reported on a possible Mass Effect Remastered N7 Trilogy release date leak. Someone posted a release calendar which seemed to stem from a retailer. The game was listed for a 29 September 2020 release date alongside other upcoming games. However, video game retailer GAME UK reportedly began taking pre-orders for the Mass Effect Remastered N7 trilogy over the past few days. Users were able to go into the retail store and put down a deposit. According to multiple Reddit users who posted their receipts online, GAME UK knew nothing about the title but it was on their system available for pre-order.

According to one user, the slip printed out “DEP” (deposit) “PS4 N7” (for the N7 collection). The Mass Effect Remastered N7 Trilogy is also listed at £59,99. Another user claims to have walked into a store and was able to pre-order the game too. In addition, the previously-leaked 29 September release date was exactly the same.

The only way I'd touch this is if it came to gog.com with a low price tag but you know its coming to origin with the full "AAA" entry fee.

If it's coming that out of the blue, with zero fanfare, I'd guess it's the same games just in 4k60 for consoles.

It seems like the most likely option but maybe they are going the Bethesda route and are saving the it all for a big marketing explosion the last month before release?

First mAss Effect has awful gunplay, linear levels and story progression, horrendous inventory system, annoying cover system, fucking dialogue wheel and laughable RPG mechanics. But despite all of this game has some remarkable moody atmosphere: though it's cliche and smells of Lovecraft and Alastair Reynolds, but the sense of impending disaster, of mysterious ancient evil coming to life is working. Nobody takes your warnings seriously, nobody believes you; and your goal is not to defeat the evil, but just prevent it from coming.

I played ME1 before I read any Lovecraft or Reynolds so this stuff was pretty novel to me: now I can see how much of it is regurgitating and reworking of old ideas. And, of course, it was before the awful retcon in ME3, with Reapers "sAvInG BiOlOgIcAl lIfE fRoM DeStRuCtIoN bY aRtIfIcIaL lIfE". We are ripping off Dune too now, eh? And that's a brilliant example of how to retroactively ruin the series: knowing this bullshit it's very hard to take the first game seriously.

Daily reminder that consoles can't render 4K and they perform a modern form of interlacing to make framerate claims.

99 times out 100 it's a reconstructed image, but there are native 4k AAA games here and there aren't there? I think Red Dead 2 was one of them. They're all 30fps of course.

It's worse than you think. This console peasant disease infects PC games too.

All the manhours that go into solving problems caused by outdated technology are ridiculous. The entire talk is essentially not about the technique itself, but how to fix the issues caused by the technique.

Before they wasted all this time did anyone bother doing a blind test to see if people actually notice the difference between 1440p and 4k when sitting on a couch a good distance away from the TV? I don't really notice it(in games, I love it for programming) when I'm sitting only a few inches away from my monitor.
