Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath
I hear a lot of female soldier voices in this. Your soldiers are not a band of brothers or even battle brothers in this Menace.

The aesthetics are one thing, but I'm also pretty concerned about the tactics -- or lack thereof -- shown off here.

Driving straight up to a base, hopping out in the middle of a field, standing in the field out of cover, and getting in a prolonged firefight is about the dumbest thing you could possibly do.

"But they're pirates!"

Even Somalis have a basic understanding of cover, angles, distance, etc. when attacking ships.

One of the things that made Battle Brothers's combat good was how well it represented position and formation for a game of that type. It gave you interesting tools to maintain it, like shields and polearms and nets, but the enemy was also quite good at targeting and exploiting any weaknesses in your formation with its own tools.

In these "gameplay" trailers, the enemy doesn't seem to have any awareness of position nor make even halfway competent attempts at threatening the player's position.

This team made one of the most graphically charming turn-based games of the decade and now they're releasing Vanilla Computer Graphics: The Game? This game has nothing distinctive about its art style, if it even has one. It looks so bland.

You are right. I’m eager to forgive it though should the gameplay be good.

Yeah, obviously the style is completely irrelevant next to how it plays. It's just so odd. Even if Battle brothers hadn't been a thing I'd still wonder how anyone could look at this game and think they'd made something distinctive looking.

They probably just watched the inferior and generic looking BB clone Wartales sell more copies than BB in a sixth of the time. Many retards called BB's artstyle ugly while praising Wartales 'realistic' graphics for being 'pretty'.

Now Overhype took the worst of both worlds and made an ugly, 'realistic' looking game.

It's maddening: the characters from 'Aliens' - which they said was a big inspiration for Menace - would look phantastic in the Battle Brothers artstyle and they just threw it away.

Mars Tactics look better than this so far.

This

I'd rather try that or stick to BB. Wasn't too thrilled when they announced Menace because i just wanted more of BB. But this shit looks very average and generic.

Also it's not Menace its Menacetruation now.

I think it looks good. Long time since we got something more in line with “generic” down-to-earth military sci-fi style.

Devs stopped posting here, while you have shizo hardcore leftist indie dev(s) and OwlCat's PR tranny still posting. Codexers, why do you ignore symptoms? Why do you turn a blind eye to painfully obvious signs? ALWAYS

BattleBrothers devs, in style of Proud German Cucks, cucked and started to suck WOKE cock. But they will be sucking on their knees with style, in Hugo Boss unform. TACTICAL CUCKENING!

TBH: I had this in 1/3 most likely scenarios. It's all about sissification of male hobbies. War Tales is hideously sissy. MADE FOR REDDIT. OverHype Studio might make game more BASED before release, since they'll be releasing it during Trump in White House. Germany is afterall vassal state of USA

This. The graphics are going to be the least of the problems the game will probably have. I still hope it will be good, though all this stronk wahmin shit is annoying. I wonder if the studio got some German government grant that mandated this shit or something like that?

If this is the best they can take from Aliens they can go fuck themselves. Also OG alien badasses are Hicks and that cool nigga sarge. Not femoids yelling orders with their cringy hysteric voices they chose to represent in this shit trailer.

The game can still turn out good - but the chances for that are getting lower and lower. The graphics, I can live with, generic and a million times worse than BB but should be serviceable. However it doesn't seem to have any style other than overabundance of femoid voices and generic looks - if that can be called style. Nothing so far suggests that tactics and whole gameplay will be exceptionally good either. Nothing other than the devs being capable of producing good gameplay or at least tactical combat - in the past.
Perhaps it is another case of a studio doing ONE reasonably successful game and then instantly going to shit? We will see. I'm worried about potential of Battle Brothers 2. Doing a different game, even in same genre, bad is one thing but developers forgetting what made their previous game good isn't something unheard of either.
