The "NEW RULES" part of the trailer is a bit worrisome, but still who would have thought any of this possible in the beginning of 2012? Truly we live in interesting times.

And YAY for the grid.

Grimrock made it possible.
I bet more on Kickstarter than Grimrock... but, still, WTF? 2013 is indeed a magical year.

If AAA-publishers can make turn-based blobber RPGs, all bets are off.

However, we don't know for sure that it's turn-based, and with the grid-thing, my bets are on Grimrock as the defining influence on this decision as well.

no one played 5+ past the campaigns for real
Eh? The multiplayer scene for V was very active.
If I see anyone playing HoMM for realz in MP its Wake of Gods.

In last 10 years every single instance of someone playing HoMM here was 3rd one, and later WOG when it appeared. And when I say, for real, I mean it. People put in real money, that confident, that hard core, 20hr marathon in net cafe, winner takes the moneyz.

To the topic. WTF, need temperature readings from hell urgently.

I love the Xeen temple sound effect in the trailer. :D Also, Sheltam. Is this some kind of weird Xeen reboot?

And are we even sure it's not Grimrock-like and is actually turn based like Xeen? You can't really tell from that trailer.

But this is some surprising shit. What a world we're living in today.

update:
Oh, apparently that's a no to a Xeen reboot and yes to turn based. It takes place after HoMM6 (never played it) so I know nothing of this storyline.

And you only create your main character. :(

It does look a little tablet-y and kind of like a low rent Grimrock. Hopefully future screenshots/video will prove that wrong.

"The game picks up after the events of the previous title, 2011's Might and Magic Heroes 6. Players will send their character, one in a party of four heroes, into a world of political intrigue and warfare between competing factions. The paths players take and the actions they choose will define the fate of the in-game city of Karthal.
Along the way players will battle fantasy creatures and enemies in a turn-based battle system, collect ancient treasures, complete quests and explore dungeons, labyrinths and towns as they unravel the story."

M&M fundamentals would work fine on tablets, or even fucking phones, it has an incredibly small # of buttons and a low amount of meaningful shit going on in the UI, and the tone is light as a feather. I have never been "immersed" in M&M - it's a completely gamey game. The shit that would kill this is making it a microtransaction machine.

They still only made pc shovelware + Heroes VI of all things.
Nope, HoMMVI was made by hungarian Black Hole Entertainment.

Limbic co-developed it (during final phase) and is currently on support for the game after Black Hole got kicked.

And the Chaos Chronicles devs made JA:BiA.

Let's cut them some slack, please?

Well Ubisoft not mainly focusing on microtransacations like some other basterds but still, it's Ubisoft. I don't trust them a bit till i get my hands on MMX Legacy.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
I have a very strange premonition about this-

That this will actually be a really good game. Don't ask why or where this feeling comes from; just accept it.
Let's wait and see.
