Stop using acronyms if you haven't typed the full name at least once first. It took me a minute to realize you guys were talking about Disco Elysium and I don't even know what QFG is
To all you retards giving me negative ratings for this, I realize now it's quest for glory and you're all a bunch of dumbfucks for thinking I haven't played the series just because I couldn't think of the name based on an acronym
Yo guy chillax maybe rub one out to your favorite tranny porn star.

Yup, there's nothing deranged about hating Larian when you've played Divine Divinity and seen how far they've fallen.

I enjoyed playing Divine Divinity around launch.

BUT, replaying it recently, what I mostly liked was the open world diablo thing but with good quests and interesting cut-scenes, like the orc flying a wyvern and rambling first time you get out of the starting village.

Aside from this, it was pretty bad though, terrible dungeon design and combat overall (you can pick a rogue, spam scorpions and be done with it, which I did on first playthrough), close combat fighter is a chore and mage is worse because mana depletes extremely fast.

From Divine Divinity to DOS.
Replaying it also showed me they use assets over their games, also, they re-use their shitty skills and skills icons.
So, Larian was close to do something real good with their DOS franchise, they only lacked a good system and tune down their shitty humor a bit.

Well, with BG3, they now have a good system, I didn't play BG3 yet but they'll never be this close to make a good cRPG.
It's now or never.

What do you like about Fallout 76?
I went over it in the thread -- and surprise -- many codexers who tried it out after I recommended it ended up enjoying it for what it is. People who would have otherwise pretended to know what the game was about despite never playing it, merely because the codex told them what to think. What a lovely website.

BG2 was 100x more of a spinoff than BG3.
BG1 -> implications of the iron crisis on Baldur's Gate
BG2 -> some spinoff bullshit with the bhaalspawn and a pregnant totally-not-child elf whatever. Does NOT take place in Baldur's Gate.
BG3 -> implications of a tiefling refugee influx on Baldur's Gate

I mean, just the Codex itself is a giant cespit of 4channery. But it's so glorious to watch, like driving down the Interstate and slowing down to stare at crashed cars burning in the night.

I myself have a tendency to obsess over certain games/companies in a way that is probably unhealthy. I’ve eventually concluded that the problem is due to a lack of competition for me to move my attention to.

For example, I’m exasperated with the crappy plots of bug war franchises like SST, Aliens, and Starcraft. Verhoven, Scott, and Metzen drove these franchises into the ground. Man, I hate those guys. I’d like a franchise about space marines fighting space bugs that doesn’t do that. (No, 40k doesn’t work either. I checked. It’s too… busy and also mismanaged.)

Oh wait, sorry, this is supposed to be about crpgs. Yeah, I’d like to play some new crpgs about vampires (and other paranormal romance types) but everything since Bloodlines has had huge problems. Bloodlines has huge problems because the budget ran out. In the absence of other companies making games, all I can do is think “damn, I hate you Paradox.”

Wrong.
1 - The name of the game is not everything.
2 - Baldur's Gate is all about Bhaalsawn saga
3 - Aerie is not a child. She is a quite good cleric/mage with 16 INT/WIS. A child would be a lv 0 commoner.
4 - BG3 is 5e
5 - Everything post Woketards of the C**** acquisition should be considered fanfic.

the iron crisis

BG2 is superior cuz you get to fight Dragons in a dungeons & DRAGONS game, get to explore the underdark, deal with other planes, get a stronghold and so on.

Strap Yourselves In Codex Year of the Donut Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I helped put crap in Monomyth
Wrong.
1 - The name of the game is not everything.
2 - Baldur's Gate is all about Bhaalsawn saga
So, then, why didn't they call it "Bhallspawn Saga I: Baldur's Gate" and then "The Bhallspawn Saga II: Shadows of Amn", and so on.
It's very easy to be a contrarian because you grew up with the material, but sometimes you have to be 100% honest with yourself, and look at things without the rosey-tinted glasses of nostalgia.

For example, Imoen was supposed to die in BG 2. Why didn't she? Like... I know you were a teen when you played these games, but you're a grown up man now. Look at things with some maturity.
