jrpgs have more in common with classic gold box RPGs and blobbers than RTWP shit like BG.

Because Japs are incapable of innovation and the JRPG formula hasn't changed since the 90s.
innuhveishun like pronouns at character creation LOL

JRPGs traditionally dont need those because the sex of the characters is always ambiguous anyway.

Are jrpgs even rpgs? People praise games like final fantasy as the pinnacle of jrpgs, yet you can barely customize your character at all. Level ups are auto and random stats. Your characters are always premade and have a set personality/fighting style. Always linear with no choices. All the other jrpgs you guys praise do the same thing. I wouldn't call any of these games rpgs and so they shouldn't even get a slot on the codex, let alone a higher slot. I wouldn't call most of the wrpgs rpgs either, but at least wrpgs have some actual rpgs. Imagine not being able to have any impact on your character yet calling it an rpg because it shows you numbers from time to time and it's not action based...

Rather than place jrpgs above all else, we should remove it altogether for not being an rpg. Or move it to the general gaming section.

When will turn based jrpgs innovate so that party positioning is actually important. They did it in the past with some games like Valkyria and tactics ogre so we know that they can, it must just not be a priority to them to have positioning in a team-based "rpg"...

In SMT you can manually distribute your stats. Play SMT. You can add Baphomet to your party.

And thus we can tell that you actually have never played the games you attempt to debase.

The Japanese, being Asian Bug People, do not understand free will or choice and consequence. Therefore all their "RPG" gameplay comes down to Yes/No answers with no impact on anything and strictly linear upgrades to equipment and stats.

Compare positioning in any Final fantasy to Valkyria chronicles, or any turn based WRPG. Can you honestly tell me the positioning in most jrpg turn based games is on the same level?

A lot of the online right is obsessed with anime, which I believe to be an insidious plot to turn you into a tranny and infantilized Japanese toy consumer. I want to bring to their attention some facts about the vile Japanese race which might allow them to reconsider the media vice that has attached to their eternal soul with a death grip and threatens to drag them down to hell forever.

Japanese are the second most degenerate pervert race on earth, after only the Jews. Other than the Jews, no other race is more associated with pornography than the Japanese. Both Japanese and Jews seem to have a primary mission to fill society with filth regardless of how much material comfort they have, indicating that their drive to corrupt is an otherworldly matter of spirit. Also similar to Jews, Japanese are overwhelmingly extremely unlikable people but thanks to controlling wildly popular video media they have a positive reputation.

First off, apples to oranges. Classic turn based JRPGs are very different beasts than Isometric RPGs, they are closest to wizardry than BG which all that it entails.

But answering your question, yeah, I can think a few. The whole genre of japanese TRPG, from Tactics Ogre to Disgaea, passing through Vandal Stories, Final Fantasy Tactics and Devil Survivor, you have tons to pick there. There are also many JRPG where characters move through an arena using AP to decide how far they can move and have different ranges for their attacks. If I have to pick an example of a really good one, look at Breath of Fire Dragon's Quarter. There you can put down traps before starting combat, and positioning is so important that choosing between a stronger sword or a longer sword can be quite difficult, and skills that push or pull enemies are the most useful of the game. Of this kind of JRPGs with AP systems you can also find more niche things like Eternal Sonata. Then you have Trials of the Sky and Cold Steel series, both have combat system that include movement and positioning. Then you have more strange and unique game like Resonance of Fate, which is pretty much an action movie made TB JRPG where the combat system is all about positioning, running through enemies and taking cover to avoid being shoot at. On the other hand you have single character RPGs like Vagrant Story or Parasite Eve where moving around and controlling your opponents position is also really important. Then you have shit that is almost real time like the Xenoblade series where attack has positional and ranges, and getting the fuck away of the enemy at the right time can be the difference between dying or winning a fight.

Those are really just a few examples. I'm sure others have many more. Also who the fuck but the most ignorant claims that the main line Final Fantasy games are the pinnacle of JRPGs? And even then you have shit like FF XII which is RTwP and range matters when it comes to combat, so even there you have cases where positioning matter.

PS: Oh yeah, forgot to add that even some FF have quite a lot of customization. Final Fantasy I, II, III, V, VII, VIII, X and XII all have either party creation, job systems or classless systems that allowed you to customize each character role in the party.

That is what makes a sane person's skin crawl when they read this:

Let's be honest: good parts of Kangmaker - build porn and combat - are good because of asian genes in russians. Writing and everyhing story related was from west and it was average or even worse, like with most companions. West of Russia you can't even get good combat to balance poz.

 Seriously, WTF?

Nuke it into the consciousness of DU so he can make the title a reality.

If not, fuckin' hell, at least move General Gaming over this pathetic excuse for 'General RPG' that mostly includes trash that identifies as RPG.

(Solemn reminder CP2077 is still in the RPG section)

This is sad.
A pathetic misshapen infant crawling, reaching up, tiny hands looking for mommy.
Yet it is all a welcome glimpse into the feeble mind of a WRPG lover. Witness the weakness.

The losing side has chosen to forfeit the argument, as usual. Annihilation will ensue shortly.
