ToEE and King's Bounty are turn based, but in both, I found myself reduced to spamming the same AOE abilities over and over again. Why? Because both games are full of trash encounters--many, many, many trivial groups of things to kill but none of them equipped with anything approaching a good AI. Not that this is an illustrative example, but turn-based isn't always more thoughtful or intellectually demanding.

Lesifoere: Of course it's not, but those 3-4 time a day abilities that don't do that much of a difference actually do get used instead of like never. :P
