Excuse me if this has already been posted

well well, guess it has already been posted. are you guys trying to be funny by posting skyrim news in general gaming now?
Having an interesting and potentially promising RPG series turn into parade of progressively derpier shit slashers is funny now?
They've always been derpy slashers, looking at them without the veil of nostalgia
GTFO - both you and your nostalgia.
I'm immune and have actually seen, let alone played DF well after being horribly disappointed with oblivion.
I don't know about Arena or spinoffs (and I'm not interested in Arena, since it pre-dates actual TES lore which is one of the pillars of the series), but pre-oblivous TES, while horribly flawed, generally have highlights far outweighing even the enormous flaws.
Daggerfall has scale, general gameworld simulation mechanics, best chargen ever and a lot of politics; Morrowind has deep and rich lore, awesome exploration, lot of flexibility and excellent art design.
Falling through the floor, needing some houseruling to avoid obvious exploits or those pesky CTDs are small price to pay.
If you merged the best features of DF and MW, and applied obvious fixes to equally obvious flaws, you'd easily end up with one of the best cRPGs ever, not some derp slasher.
I lost a character in the tutorial dungeon, because I walked into a cage and clipped through it. Then couldn't clip back out.
Cry me a river.
That's what saves are for, among other things. Have I ever been butthurt about Wizardry 8 going TPK on me for leaning against glitched geometry or suddenly glitch-launching my party through the air against group of T'Rang guards, provoking a war I worked hard to avoid?
No.
Even on ironman I make backups for the specific purpose of being able to avoid engine derping out on me (I do kiss my party goodbye if it gets killed off legitimately, of course
).
