I looked at some texture mods, but I have couple problems with them, even with all of them I doubt they replace all the textures, and they seemed to lack consistent look.

Plus...you might try to polish dog shit as much as you want, but it is still dog shit.

Indeed, hence why the guide I mentioned recommend to install multiple texture mods to cover *all* the textures, but as far as consistency goes I had no problems with them in the past. But, now that I think about it, many of them do look out of place, so I get what you mean.

Anyone knows if I still should get NMC texture mod when I got Ojo Bueno, all Textures over Time and Vurts Flora overhaul (wanted dead but seems to cause crashes so went with fertile)? Will still get texture mods for clutter, armors and weapons. Thought about animation mod but meh dont want to bother with mcm which is why I went with Vanilla UI+ or whatever its called.
What mod manager are you using? Mod Organizer? Because STEP guide (Fear and Loathing in New Vegas) recommended ALL of those textures mods, of which I personally followed because my rig can kinda handle those. While I'm personally not that hot about graphics, Gamebryo's looks is waaay too outdated for my taste that I can't stomach it so I'd say if your rig can handle it, just go for it.

My rig can handle it the question was more aimed at if NMC, Buoeno and Textures over Time are all doing something different. Personally I am really impressed by ToT and would hate to see the other two superseding it. I am using ModManager and have Bueno and ToT installed only. Not sure if I should add NMC or redo everything. Not even sure if it would help at that point.

For me it helps with immersion if the stuff does not look like its from 1998 early 3D games.
I used NMC and Bueno before and found it pleasing but just wondering if those two play nice with ToT.

If you're planning to install the mods manually or through NMM/FOMM, then installing ToT *after* NMC and Ojo/Poco Bueno will have the former pretty much override anything of the same texture altered by the latter.

Reading the mods description page, NMC covered this:
Roads
Landscape
Trees (ie trunks/branches)
Vehicles
Buildings
Interiors
Medium to large sized objects (eg. toolboxes, Nuka cola vendors, chairs, cupboards etc).
While Ojo/Poco Bueno covered somewhat same stuff + some smaller objects. However, NMC made it clear that it doesn't alter anything from the DLCs, and I don't see Ojo/Poco Bueno saying anything about altering the DLCs.
Meanwhile, ToT altered only earthly stuff like flagstones and sandstones, AND you can get a standalone file that alter textures in Honest Hearts.
In conclusion, there should be no problem of ToT getting overridden by the other two mods, because you can simply install ToT *after* NMC and Ojo Bueno. In fact, if you read STEP guide to mod New Vegas using Mod Organizer, the guide pretty much instruct you to install Texture Over Time *after* NMC and Ojo Bueno.
I really recommend using MO, because it installs all the mods into a virtual directory of its own, means it won't change the structure of the main game folder, and thus uninstalling and reinstalling mods is easy AND won't fuck up your game like when doing manually/using NMM/FOMM does. Arranging mods in MO is also unique in a way that you can move a mod around in the list so that, if you prefer one of its functionality, it can override other mod that does same things, and vice versa. For example, with the aforementioned texture mods, you basically install NMC to alter most of the big textures. After installing NMC, you install Ojo Bueno to cover more specific textures AND override any modification that originated from NMC for same textures. And finally, you install Texture Over Time to completely override any modification of the same textures that originated from both NMC and Ojo Bueno, because you preferred ToT.
If it so happens that you unintentionally install a mod 'too late', for example installing NMC *after* Ojo Bueno and ToT, when doing manually or with NMM/FOMM, NMC's installation pretty much override Ojo Bueno and ToT of any same textures they altered. But, with MO, you can pretty much 'shove' NMC back up the list so that it will get overridden by Ojo Bueno and ToT.

I do use Mod Organizer. Exclusively in fact. Not sure how to install mods you have to DL manually though. Thought dragging it to it would do the trick but does not work with Wasteland Clothing textures.

Edit: Nvm found out that you can manually load an archive to Mod Organizer.

Yep, you can just drag the archived mods you downloaded manually into MO's window, and MO will automatically add it into its download(?) pane. From there, you can then install the mod like you would any other mod you download via MO.

Open Mod Organizer -> profiles -> [your currently used profile] -> there will be a .txt file there. At least, that's what I have.

It's upside down, though.

Edit: Sorry for wasting your time, just saw that there is a plugins tab which actually lists when a mod offers several variants. Just had to unselect the ones I did not want. Odd though that the tag skill change plugin is not present.

Does anyone know of a mod which removes most of the nonsensical bonus stats and skills from gear? Always found that annoying.
I've never encountered such mod, or perhaps I've forgotten. Others might be able to tell you, though.

I'm not sure what you're asking, but is it related to some occurrence where, when you download/installing a mod, the MO will ask you the correct version of the mod or something?

Nah this one changes the formula how skill points are gained at level up since I always felt you get far too much. I usually go with 5 base points +0.5 per intelligence point. Usually bump tag skills to 25 points to make them more valuable including the perk.

Oh, right, I just got what you mean. It isn't that this mod has "10+ version", but rather it has multiple ESPs. With mods like this, you'll always need to do this manually, and I'd say MO made it easier by allowing you to switch around the ESP(s) you want to "Available ESPs", and the ESP(s) you don't want to "Optional ESPs". To do this, double-click the mod on the left pane, select the "Optional ESPs" tab, choose the version of the mod you want and put it on "Available ESPs". Only available ESPs would show up on the right pane of MO, while the rest on "Optional" will be 'hidden' from the game.

I do, they obviously don't have the production values of content made by proper dev teams but some of them are ok. There are a couple of modders like someguy2000 and Mike hancho (or something like that) that consistenly put out decent content.
A decent amount of good ones have released, they just don't get the amount of attention that they deserve. Most are either 70-80% voice acted to 100% voice acted. And often with mildly interesting plots. It's a shame that most people stop at Someguy and look no further.

The big rescue
Rumps presidential race
-Tales of New Reno
-Eliza (there is also a prequel quest I think you need known as the inheritence, it'll be in the description of this one)
-Obviously the complete overhaul Fallout: New California
-Lost Lands
-Autumn Leaves (a mod so well made bethesda stole it for its fallout 4 dlc almost verbatim)

Those are all I can think of for the moment but there are much much more, most of which are as I said 80-100% voice acted, and fairly fun. A few like Eliza lead you to new areas as well as add new voiced companions too.

I have never played the DLCs so atm no.

Personally, my standards for a new adventure in Gamebryo is to infinity and beyond, and simply taking a look at Fallout: New California TC mod thread already made me cringe hard.

Fortunately, my longing for a new adventure in the world of Fallout is sated by Fallout 1.5: Resurrection and Fallout of Nevada.
