I'm still hoping Metroid Prime 2 and 3 remastered turns up at some point.
Nintendo has responded to concern over the inappropriate use of its characters online and said it would take "appropriate action" against anything that would make some players "feel uncomfortable".
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa was recently questioned by a shareholder who said they had "come across cases on social media where Nintendo IP and games are used inappropriately". This "inappropriate" use of Nintendo's characters "poses the risk of damaging" the company's brand, the question continued - so what was Nintendo planning to do about it?
In response, Furukawa said Nintendo's management policy was to "bring smiles through entertainment" (but presumably not the kind of smiles generated by "inappropriate" use).
Source: Eurogamer"I will refrain from commenting on individual cases, but we believe that appropriate action must be taken against any behaviour that undermines this policy," Furukawa continued, without specifying what that action might entail.
"Our goal is to create an environment where everyone can enjoy playing games. We will continue to make every effort to ensure that our consumers are not made to feel uncomfortable, not only in our games but also anywhere they come into contact with our IP."
Of course, fans have been using Nintendo characters for "inappropriate" reasons for a very, very long time. The most high-profile example of this in recent memory was a certain Bowsette - a spicy fan mash-up of Peach and Bowser that Nintendo initially refused to comment on when it went viral and trended on social media worldwide, and then later ruled as non-canon.
Few creators address the use of their characters by fans for less-than-appropriate reasons. Why? Well, I'm reminded of when Ken Levine once asked reddit to stop drawing naughty pictures of Elizabeth from BioShock Infinite. Simply put, it doesn't work.
The team behind the port are aware of the bug and are fixing it.Nintendo seal of quality working as intended. Plus, switch really is a port machine.
With Sony fortifying its censorship policies for Japanese eroge (short for “erotic game”) franchises like Omega Labyrinth and Super Neptunia on PlayStation consoles, Japanese game developers seem to be flocking towards the Nintendo Switch with their adult content. The topic recently gained traction on Japanese social media when a Japanese shopper shared a photo of a Nintendo Switch software corner at a retailer, which happened to be lined with numerous adult games.
Reminds me of an associate I work with who worked for Disney before Covid. He worked with the guy who co-wrote and created Kim Possible. During a meeting with a potential new pilot for a cartoon involving a female protagonist, the pilot's creator was brought into a private room with the Kim Possible creator. The co-writer showed the new guy a bunch of Rule 34 Kim Possible and asked him, "are you prepared to see this happen to your characters? It's going to happen, even Disney, with all their money and lawyers can't stop it. I feel sick seeing it, but it's part of the price I paid to see Kim Possible get made."Nintendo pledges "action" over inappropriate use of its characters so players "not made to feel uncomfortable"

You can, and should, turn off auto-steering. It will fuck up your driving and makes drifting virtually impossible.. You'll also find the game is not so forgiving when you don't have auto-turn. Why MK8 has it set automatically, as opposed to a "Do you want this?" Prompt is beyond me.Need to change the way drifting works in Mario Kart. Just boring. Need to add more realistic kart physics. I'm serious. Something so dull about instantly going full speed and degree of turning not being reasonably influenced by speed. Braking too.
MK8 tracks are way too short. Just these little circuits that are over in no time at all.
Roads mostly too wide with no hard parts, and auto-steers you when you go towards edge as well.
Why are most of the bonus DLC levels real cities?
I played all the original courses years ago on my Switch and am only now trying the DLC courses on an emulator. Splitscreen is boring too. Want more realistic physics, but sales as impressive as they are, no hope for this series. You can, and should, turn off auto-steering. How many courses have you done? There're quite a few that are long, have tricky spin-offs and gyrating roads. Moreover, about 40% of all tracks are carry-overs from previous MK games, including famously difficult ones.
I agree on the real cities DLC. Virtually all of them suck and smack of low effort.

The other guy said he was prepared already, and expected as much.
The pilot never went through though. Covid basically killed any plans Disney had beforehand.
Wow! Well, this looks like a game that'd be perfect Female Codexers!Zelda can fight enemies directly by wielding a sword that transforms her into the Swordfighter form, which resembles Link. This form can only be used for a limited time before its energy must be replenished by collecting orbs of energy found in the Still World.
Nintendo has updated its guidelines for content creators, strengthening its right "to object" to any content it deems "inappropriate".
Nintendo's "game content guidelines for online video and image sharing platforms" were updated earlier today (2nd September). Whilst the company says it is "humbled every day" by the loyalty and passion of its fanbase, it nonetheless reminds all content creators that they need to adhere to "basic rules", and "reserves the right to object to any content that it believes is unlawful, infringing, inappropriate, or not in line with these guidelines".
"We reserve the right to no longer allow the use of Nintendo game content in case of such violations," the terms guidelines say.
Source: EurogamerIn a Q&A that explains what, exactly, may be deemed unacceptable, the company explains:
"We reserve the right to remove any content that we believe is unlawful, infringing, inappropriate, or not in line with the guidelines. In some cases, Nintendo may take down videos on behalf of our third-party partners."
These terms prohibit players from publishing any Nintendo gameplay that features "graphic, explicit, harmful, or otherwise offensive content, including statements or actions that may be considered offensive, insulting, obscene, or otherwise disturbing to others".
Content creators also cannot simply upload or livestream unedited gameplay footage of any Nintendo game without adding their own "creative or editorial input".
Interestingly, the Japanese terms seem even stronger, with some outlets reporting that Nintendo says it will take action against posts that use its content to "violate public order and morals". It's thought this may have been introduced after a popular Japanese content creator used Nintendo's shooter to advise viewers "how to graduate from virginity".
In early July, Nintendo responded to concern over the inappropriate use of its characters online, saying it would take "appropriate action" against anything that would make some players "feel uncomfortable".

When I complained that she can only summon prior objects, they told me there was surely more. Well, making her a sword fighter is boring too. That's not "wisdom." Why would I want to play a game about the princess if she's just gonna fight like Link? She should be avoiding combat. A stealth-adventure game, maybe?
