Fire Emblem Musou? :bounce:

Shame you'd have to pay me to buy a Nintendo console with their prices, shitting on EU territories and now with paid online. Looking forward to emulation or piracy one day.

The console isn't region locked so who cares. You can import everything now.

Welp. New SMT pretty much guarantees that I'm getting the console, then again, the fact that this is replacing the 3DS meant that I was getting it anyway. I'm excited that they are FINALLY localizing DQ10.
I don't think they said they were localizing DQX. The statement they used announcing was "DQX and DQXI are coming to the Switch... in Japan"

Fire Emblem Musou? :bounce:

Why would you want that either way? Chances are with the teaser it's mostly going to be Awakening and Fates characters, maybe their own originals (a la Hyrule Warriors) and MAYBE some other older ones.

I'm cheap, alright? I blow too much money on [western] disappointments and I'm not buying a console for a handful of games. :| Good on Nintendo for finally getting ride of region locking, though.

With Musou I at least know what I'm getting and it helps if it's a familiar franchise. Although what you say has merit - it'll be the latest stuff drenched in waifu nonsense that I don't care for one bit.

i just noticed SMT is on Unreal engine.
Which pretty much means that they will port it everywhere as UE can easily make choose your console package.

YAY SMT games finally on steam.

Shin Megami Tensei?

It's Atlus. They don't do PC ports no matter how logical this proposition might be.

Yeah Atlus is as insane as Ninty because japanese pride or something :D

Who in the fuck will buy a sixty dollar version of 5 year old Skyrim with 10 year old graphics?

Maybe a Zelda and Maybe a Mario and maybe a Smash Bros. That does not make me feel like buying yet another Nintendo console to play all of a half dozen games on over its life.

Yeah they will stay on platform that soon will be dead. If they moved to Unreal then releasing any other version is really really really easy.

Well at least it's a dead Japanese platform then and not Gaijin crap!

The thing is, Atlus could always coordinate with Sega (their owners) to have some sweatshop porting-specialist do the heavy lifting. Sega has experience working with PC porting partners so it's shocking that they never took advantage of this.

There's perhaps hope that Deep Silver will contract out someone porting P5 to Steam, since Atlus is too arrogant or backwards to realize such opportunity.

I highly doubt Atlus chose the UE4 so they could port games for the PC. Also, Sega still refuses to port Yakuza for the PC. You can always hope to see Atlus titles on the PC, but don't go expecting it, or you'll get heart broken.

Atlus will do everything in their might to prevent this and i'm not joking here.

It is not like they have choice.

SMT games sale mainly in japan. PS4 numbers aren't great there. Switch will be dead.
So that leaves only mobiles in japan.

Only way for SMT to stay on single platform would be for Switch to sell at least 3ds numbers which is not likely at this price + paid online.

Only way for them to sell something now is to either port game, believe in nintendo or move to phones.

There's always hope the retarded and out-of-touch Shigeru Miyamoto dies of a heart attack, Nintendo takes a honorable bow and then proceeds to scrap their hardware business and opens up their game IPs to all available platforms. They have already made first strides into this direction by releasing some of their stuff on iOS.

Perhaps the Switch will finally be Ninty's Dreamcast moment.

I hope so.
Men, they are so good in developing softwares (just look at that Zelda), but their consoles are so fucking bad :negative:
