It's ridiculous that the only open thread on the topic over there has the title 'why can't we discuss the release?' due to over-zealous mods. Says it all, really. Beth really has buggered up at every level with this one.

Anyway, back to more rewarding pursuits, i.e. finding working copies of Fallout or Daggerfall.

Are you sure that's why they're delaying it? I thought it had to do with some financial bullshit.
If by 'financial bullshit' you mean they've got to have a semi finished game to sell, sure it's financial bullshit.

Is Tanjo trying to say that the 'movement' refers only to a shift in Take2's treatment of sales income for accounting purposes only, and not the actual release date of the product?

I'd like to see it delayed. Obviously any extra time will mean a better game. And of course, the reaction from the greedy little monster children on those boards will be priceless.

I think he is, but the press release states that bethseda told take2 they needed more development time.

Ok, where's MSFD? We all know he's seen this news post.

We want the low down! Or down low! Or whatever.

Oblivion delayed for failure to meet Jiggledocity target!

I bet it's actually delayed because its combat programmer has been spending too much time on internet forums.

What, can't bear to wait a few months more, Jiu?

I don't really care. I don't plan on buying the game.

I just think it's funny that MSFD is quick to post on just about every single Oblivion thread on this forum and then this really important news bit pops up and makes all this drama and he's nowhere to be found.

Maybe they will implement MOUNTED COMBAT and CROSSBOWS and SPEARS with this extra time!

Zing. Mother fucking zing.

Can Bethesda ever release a game on time?

Oh well, maybe they'll take the extra time to implement something good and release something more than an unfinished buggy steaming pile of shit, but I'm not holding my breath.

Um, the news hasn't been out that long. Could it be that, unlike some other people that come to mind, MSFD has a life outside of rpgcodex? No, you're right. I'm sure he's hiding in shame, afraid to face the ridicule of the horrible rpgcodexers.

Chefe, September: "What has happened looks to me like this: The Nine Divines quest line was axed for lack of time and resources.

Gotta make that Xbox360 launch!"

Nothing meaningful. Just find it odd that one would make sarcastic marks about Oblivion being pushed for an early release - then degrade it again when it is announced it'll be released later.

Tintin, June: Hi guys! I'm fucking clueless!

Tintin, October: Hi guys! I still don't know what the fuck is going on!

Moron. They didn't manage their time properly. Hence my question of will they ever release a game on time. Mismanagement of time was also a reason for the absence of many features. They axe features (with a blunted axe, of course) for the Xbox360 launch, but they can't even make that! Point is: they suck at time management.

They hyped up the Xbox 360 launch date, and then at the last minute they delay it. Idiots. They just rode the Xbox 360 hype train.

How clever. Thought it up all by yourself? I'm utterly amazed.

"bitch", huh? Where'd you find that word? It's so utterly original as an insult I'm wondering which university you graduated from.

Right, and delays have historically been so rare in the notoriously predictable and easily managed world of computer games development...

Wish Take 2 would have done the same with BattleCruiser 3000AD (the first one). Can't knock a game being held for bug fixing...one hopes, anyway.

One of the funnier things will be all the new TES threads exclaiming: 'Right, now that its being delayed, Beth Devs, I want you to put in:

Duel Weild
Horse battels
More Lizard Pr0n
etc
etc

That was pointed more at the fact that they took so much time developing forests they forgot to add in more gameplay elements.
