We saw some dialogue in the "illegal" (leik omg guys) screenshots that the Ruskies posted. It leaves alot to be desired.
You have only seen screenshots with the subtitles for dialogues between npcs and the subtitles for the words npcs say to you before you enter the dialogue with they.

I believe you're correct there... ruskies only took pre-dialogue screenies for some odd godforsaken reason.

I haven't seen any screenshots with dialogues between the player and the npcs, only from the E3 demo, and you can't judge the dialogues from that.

Again, I belive you're right. The only dialogue seen has been in video format - between the player and Uriel Septim Stewart as well as the Pyromaniac dogowner and the player. Pretty lackluster stuff that, but it IS possible it's more fleshed out - at least I expect replies to be a lot longer as there's so much voice actors involved.

They didn't manage their time properly. Hence my question of will they ever release a game on time. Mismanagement of time was also a reason for the absence of many features. They axe features (with a blunted axe, of course) for the Xbox360 launch, but they can't even make that! Point is: they suck at time management.

They hyped up the Xbox 360 launch date, and then at the last minute they delay it. Idiots. They just rode the Xbox 360 hype train.
Guys, guys. Who cares about a few extra minor features? The important stuff which is the core of the game is already done: soil erosion, forests, and PATRIC STEWART!!! Stop being whiny bitches and use your imagination for the rest.

Who cares about how the actual screen looks like? We all know that it's basically the same topic-based system. Chefe's point was, I believe, that those dialogue lines we saw and heard (the video) are god-fucking-awful and look like they were written by an overly dramatic 12-year old.

Such delays always make me glad that I didn't preorder the game, too.

Some guys on TES forums are suggesting that the Bethesda devs don't know anything about the delay because T2 didn't tell them. :D

Yup, yup - probably true, but not all that bad as the greetings oneliners were.

Anyhow, I don't mind that it's delayed. If it's delayed it probably means it need the time, and I'd rather play a less buggy exploration simulator.

You take a lot from Chefe's words. But Chefe was talking about the screenshots from the russian preview, and we can judge the dialogues only with that. And the E3 demos was that, a demo, not a game with the final dialogues. We have read some previews from the X5 in Amsterdan, where they talk about more dialogue and topics with the emperor.

 Since when have you been channelling Roqua?

The dialogue from the Russian screenshots tells us nothing, except maybe for the font size indicating not-much-at-once.

The real worry is that e3 video, since - although we know the mad bookwoman was specially knocked together, the Bard-Elf discussion was not. That's got to be final in-game conversation, because it's pre-recorded and voiced. And it ain't promising.

What nice masshysteria. I will be glad to see a game with less bugs if that will be the result out of this. Bugs can kill some of the enjoyment of a perfectly great game.

Oh, and it's pretty obvious why the delay is happening, isn't it? They had yet to implement shadows as of X05, the frame rate wasn't up to speed, and the beggar has to run at 720p minimum.

It's performance on the Xbrick360 that's the problem.

I dont think anyone is arguing that we want more bugs, we simply like the product and are distressed at companies continuing inability to correctly judge release dates.

Stop hyping your products too early!!!!!!!!!

Im about to start advocating a "Dont Ask, Dont Tell" policy about games.

From now on, publishers and developers SHOULD NOT REVEAL WHAT THEY ARE WORKING ON UNTIL ITS READY AND ABOUT TO SHIP.

Seriously. once you build up your pipeline of "ready" games just sit on the product for the 2 months of hype (which will allow you to keep working on bugs and have a patch ready a month after release and look like you're ahead of the game)...then release when you know its ready.

Surely these brilliant minds can't be this terrible at project management/assessment they cant predict a correct end date.

Holy crap Im glad they arent working on stuff for the national defense.

LOL

I knew those dipshits at Bethesda couldn't get the game done in time!

Nice job, guys! You need to take a look over at your official forums, there is a mini revolt going on....lots of swearing and gnashing of teeth.

Oh and good job lying to everyone at X05. Final stages of tweaking and polishing, eh? LOL

I was talking about the russian preview, which had text from NPC interactions. I don't think they're suddenly going to switch personas when you go up and talk to them, so what we saw is probably an accurate representation of dialogue.

Everyone knows about the dialogue in the video. We saw Patrick Stewart in his not-so-stellar role as the emperor. The dialogue sucked and was horribly cliched. Again, expecting a constant style throughout (which is normally the case) it leaves much to be desired.

Mwahahaha!
I can but say 'I've told ya!' :).
I wonder if Oblivion will be delayed as much as STALKER... and for same reasons, heh.

I was talking about the Russian screens too, what's your point? Have you seen those one-liners? Have you see the quality of writing? The quality of quests' presentation?

We have read some previews from the X5 in Amsterdan, where they talk about more dialogue and topics with the emperor.
You mean the one that said "thank God they hired Patric who saved those laughable lines with his performance?

The font size indicates that one shouldn't expect good writing, but a series of one-liners displayed one after another. Those lines that we've seen prove that.

That's priceless. Add "the game is being shipped to stores right now!" and let's post it at the official forums.

Same shit to me. 1 medium sentence, 3 short ones (4 words). The way it was written, it was way too basic, not informative, not interesting. Your average boring cliche "nobles have fancy clothes and they smell nice" response. Waste of space.

All well and good, but it disproves your assertion that:

The font size indicates that one shouldn't expect good writing, but a series of one-liners displayed one after another. Those lines that we've seen prove that.

It's nothing very good, but at least it's not all one-liners.

There you can see a dialogue, not the one line words npcs say to you when you are near. Again, you can't see any dialogues in the russian screenshots.

One-liners? yes, again, that is not dialogue between the player and the npc, that are what the npc says when you are near, you have seen what the dialogues look in the E3 video.. What quests presentation? the one about the manor?

Technically, yes. Practically, no. Look at that screen, the last 3 sentences are:

What do they know?
All fluff and no fiber.
That's what I say.

If they are going to use 4-word sentences, they can fit 50 of them into the dialogue window.
