For the initial world or concept of the world I hope Tim Cain comes up with the idea, I know Roguey said that he doesn't want to take on any big roles or something and he only wants to code but man. Fallout and Arcanum or Bloodline's modern setting are pretty great and weird so I really hope he comes up with a similar feel of the world and then maybe MCA fleshes it out or something.

Don't really care about the setting whether its apocalyptic or fantasy or anything like that, Just a weird fun world to explore since PoE is taking somewhat ideas from history and real world stuff, The other game will be sorta crazy.

Yea, I think Activison has both Arcanum and Vampire the Masquerade.

Edit:
Can't they make a spiritual successor or something to any game if they wanted to?

One option might be that some publisher saw success of New Vegas and hired Obsidian to make another first person sandbox RPG. It would actually be a smart move since Bethesda has no competition in that area, that kind of game would sell especially coming from New Vegas dev.

If they own Arcanum's rights then we can expect "Arcanum: Mind over orc" or something like that.

I think there will be many games inspired in old cRPGs in 2014-2015...
Should we start talking of "RPG Codex official year of incline"?

I'm hoping they've convinced some publisher that they can out-Mass Effect Mass Effect and their project (if the Eternity deal wasn't it) is a space opera game. Sci-fi RPGs are a pretty fallow field in general, but space opera especially is my favourite genre and something like Mass Effect but with competent writing would be fantastic.

They don't have the VtM license, you crazy nigga

Also fuck you people, stop begging for sequels and clones. It's bad enough they are already making not-Baldur's Gate you want not-Arcanum too? How about some creativity?

I'd take Arcanum's "fast turn based" and all its flaws over BG's slow ass real time with pause. Hell, I'd even take Arcanum's real time that functions largely as a stats check (are you strong enough to kill these enemies? If yes, you win, if no you die really quickly.) and gets itself over with quickly over BG's god awful system

Oh you are right, sorry. Apparently only Bloodline belongs to Activision but the VtM belongs to White Wolf and CCP games are making a World of Darkness MMO or something.

Thank you!!

As long as we are being completely unreasonable...

I'd love a pure turn based spiritual successor to Arcanum based on the Meiji era.

KOTOR 3 or another sci-fi or even modern-day RPG. I imagine EA would go crazy if Obsidian did KOTOR 3 though, as they would surely do away with the events of The Old Republic: Revan, so that won't happen.

They shouldn't do a fantasy RPG now that they have their own IP in Eternity.

Maybe it will be Lionheart 2

What? I think it is a fair bet nobody outside the Codex even knows about that game, and it was one of the titles that brought down Black Isle.
