with the exceptions of D:OS 2 and Tyranny (obviously D:OS 2 is the biggest seller of this list, but I can't imagine it sold 9x as many copies as PoE).

One thing to note about D:OS 2 (and also BG3) is that there's no way of buying the game outside of Steam and GOG. Larian don't sell Steam keys on other sites like Humble, Fanatical, GMG, etc.. (Only KS backers could obtain Steam keys.) And reviews by key purchases don't count toward the main score. So when you count these factors, it's like 6x many reviews, which kinda aligns with sales numbers we (directly and indirectly) aware.

You can't compare DOS2 and Poe2 even with TB combat. DOS2 has it's multyplayer thing and more open ended world I would say. Deadfire is much confined. Saywer said he would do PoE3 as 3D game and I guess they will do co-op as well.

The total sales for PoE II are much higher than the first one

Jesus!
No wonder people in other threads are saying they're willing to donate money to Codex for you to get a dumbfuck tag. :)

Those are statistics from 2018, you imbecile, before even the console ports were released.

dumpsterfire cost far more than original pillows to develop, they needed way better sales than the original

making a longer RPG is probably a bad idea from a financial perspective, once you're past the ~30 hour mark I'm not sure how much extra content will factor into people deciding to buy your game

Didn't Obsidian "borrow" some money from Tyranny's budget? But was it for the first, or second PoE?

It was revealed to me in a dream.
No wonder here.
The human brain searches for solutions to everyday problems during sleep.
That's your brain coping.

Muster up proof that PoE2 sold more than five times on consoles than on PC or shut the fuck up, you feeble little bitch!

And if you find proof, make sure to pay Sawyer a visit, maybe you can pull him off (figuratively and... literally) from his depression.

If only Sawyer would know the truth about true sales number from you...
He would stop lamenting on his blog like a confused bloke of how commercially unsuccessful PoE2 was.

PS: I've presented no statistics.
A screenshot from twitter is not a statistic.

I wish I was one but unfortunately not.

Because that would've meant that I would be living in a part of Europe where "feelings over facts" SJW retards don't run rampant and where knuckle dragging fuckos (that receive their "facts" in dreams) are nonexistent.

And when you pay Obsidian headquarters THE visit, enthusiastically flaunting in the air like a little bitch the papers with the latest TRUE PoE2 sales numbers, make sure you pay Urquhart a visit too.
Depending on how good you suck his cock, maybe you can save Sawyer's job and his downfall into obscurity.

PoE3 FTW!

There appears to be a nontrivial core who believe that even 30-40 is "too short" for a complete playhtrough but once you're near 50 it's fine.

has avellone or anyone from obsidian ever commented on why in kotor 2 & subsequent material both the main character being female and having traveled with the handmaiden is canon?

What would they have to say about it? They're not the ones who decided what's "canon".

The MC being female is probably because Revan had been made male and they decided to switch it up. As for the Handmaiden, if the Disciple was left out, it's probably because they decided that her character and her story were more important ; if not, that's just Lucas Arts deciding that they wouldn't be beholded to an arbitrary gameplay element and just included both.

Obsidian working on a project to be announced this E3/VGA
1) lead narrative designer (march 2020 - present) - an upcoming, hush-hush project
2) cinematics director (may 2020 - present) - unannounced project, cinematic design + direction + presentation + performance direction
3) senior software engineer (november 2019 - present) - working on an unannounced project at Obsidian to help develop a prototype game proposal. Molding an existing code base to fit new requirements as well as writing new code to fit the needs of the project. The team is incredibly small and agile with frequent shifting of goals and priorities. I'm the primary engineering resource for the project's needs. These needs include console platform support, build systems, engine feature support, and new feature development.

Most likely it's cancelled Stormlands since they were making it with Microsoft

I don't think they would go back to an old pitch like that, they probably have other stuff to offer now...

I doubt they’re working on two fantasy games since they’re making Avowed.
