Onyx as a engine is dead. The toolkit developed for it lives on and is apparently super easy to port for different engines.

Holly Wilson seems to have finished her work on Pillars of Eternity. At least it seems like she has left the company.

There's obv not going to be any live streams of the PE demo at E3, does anyone know if any of the press mobs are doing live interviews or stuff like that? Last time all we got was a Brazlian interview :smug:

At this point its probable that we will see Obsidian take on another AAA soon. Both Skyforge and AW are closing in on beta as well.

Hopefully PE will be successful.

8 is better than 7

Only things that suck are

a) no DAZ Loader
b) pre-installed bloatware
c) Options divided between CP and Settings

8 is not better than 7. The green ribbon of death (unfixable, my reason for reverting back) and folder ownership issues is annoying. There's also no driver signature override, and a bunch of other shit you can do in 7 that you can't do in 8.

Green ribbon of death is a random bug. I didn't get it on my first install, but I had to do a repair once after some of my boot files got corrupted and I couldn't fix it. There are some files on the system that you can't change or edit, even if you hack through the permissions with Take Ownership and Folder permissions, which makes using some mods/programs annoying. If you have an old mouse that is 125Hz (such as a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer, you can't overclock it to 500Hz in Windows 8).

There's also a mouse issue with Windows 8.1 with a lot of games that requires an annoying manual fix, and a bunch of other shit that makes it a really frustrating OS to use if you like changing a bunch of shit and fiddling around.

Might be a coincidence but both Sawyer and Avellone talked about doing an alpha protocol type of game with the Archer IP.

Avellone said he would like to do this last week in a podcast interview. Sawyer said it on the Giant Bomb panel. Maybe this is something that they would like to work on? Or maybe are allready working on.

They proved with South Park that they are capable of hitting the correct tone of a comic tv show. With the help of Matt and Trey of course but still.

Archer went from a pretty funny show about misogynist stereotype agent, to a show about retards working at an office - with the occasional craaaaazy field trip. I.E. it went from a decent time-waster to complete macfarlane-school-of-humor shit.

Obsidian did not make SP:TSoT a fun game. Matt and Trey made SP:TSoT a fun game. Obsidian made it playable.
