So Crooked Bee prestigious 'Dex interview when?
We recently interviewed Tim Cain, but I can imagine two separate ones for MCA and JE Sawyer. Perhaps even a lengthy combined interview.
I think it would be interesting to interview Feargus and Adam Brennecke (Project Director) as well.

Buck: Let's talk mechanics. While the game is certainly far from completion, what are your goals for the character creation and advancement system? Will progression be a standard affair with attributes and skills/perks/feats, or will you be treading into unknown territory? Finally, will there be a major focus on the non-combat abilities that are often overlooked in modern RPGs?

Feargus: Yes, yes and yes – we are still rolling up the system, but our goals are very much along the lines of creating a robust and multi-faceted RPG system. That means having a huge focus on support abilities and not just combat ones. Josh has been whiteboarding up a system for a number of months now for the support ability system and it’s looking very, very cool.

I hope they will make RTwP in RIGHT way. YES. There is a right way - defenitely not the Dragon Age's one. BG/IWD/PS:T had its rhythm, actually it was semi-turn based -when catched the pause worked fine. At least for me.

Interview Brennecke is definitely a great idea. Feargus mentions him immediately and he's in the vid.

Cain and MCA are kind of in supporting roles since they are still engaged in WL2/South Park, dunno how big their roles really are, so I'd sooner interview Sawyer and Brennecke than add Cain and MCA, even if those are big names.

Just pledged $100.

So, what's the stretch goal going to be for creating the bug-free version?

Here is how you can tell when Rtw/P is good: You sit with the game paused messing with the action queue for a full two minutes to get the next 5 second of unpaused combat to go correctly when just letting it run would get you a total party kill every time without fail

Here is how you tell when Rtw/P is bad: When it is like an MMORPG except you can pause it

The other way around. If you go the first route, what's the point? Might as well make it turn based. The only difference is that a RTWP give you less precision.

I just hope they will provide a paypal payment option once the goal has been reached. As I learned with Wasteland 2, my cards gold is no good on Kickstarter.

I would love to see a toolset for both adding things to the world... But also to make your own world from scratch! Make it happen!! :>

Brother None , so what was the gamebanshees founders actual direct involvment in this? Could you share some informations?

It's talked about in the intro/first question of the interview. Basically Buck and Feargus talked for a while some conferences ago and he planted the seed for the idea of an Infinity Engine-type game actually being possible/diserable for gamers, and Kickstarter provided the means. It sounds like a small thing, and I would've thought it is, but Feargus was pretty gushing about it being a factor.

RTwP though...it's always held a halfway house for me between the immediacy of RT and the tactics of TB. I can understand why the idea appeals to people, but the end results tend to be a fiddly clusterfuck. Still, if they can make RTwP as good as Dragon Age: Origins, as opposed to as shitty as the Infinity Engine games, that'll be awwwwright.

If I hear them saying shit about Dragon Age I will be less forgiving of Rtw/P

If I hear them saying shit about Brigade E5 or 7.62mm I will be more

Yeah, 'cause obviously they've played those games.

Or maybe, just maybe they want to make an RTwP game.

RTwP (pathetic excuse for a proper combat system) is the first thing any publisher would ask them to implement. Luckily, they now have the creative freedom to do the exact same bloody thing - willingly. Rejoice!

Not everybody thinks TB combat is gods gift to humanity.

Whoever considers ToEE's TB combat system inferior to what Infinity Engine-based games offered in that regard needs to be wrapped up in a straightjacket.

So... happy... ::manlytears::

They said this day would never come, that the decline would continue forever more... But there is hope on the horizon.

You insufferable faggots xD
It was rather clear that it'll be mainly a storyfag game, when has Obsidian done anything different, as someone else said every single other RPG is TB, seeing as Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape: Torment are some of my favorite games I'm perfectly fine with this.
Regarding the ... durr fantasy comments! Maybe stop bitching before you even know ANYTHING about the fucking project (the video was kinda gay in that way) but it showed some concept art that I assume is in regards to the game and it had guns!

Or at least read the Interviews and shit before you proceed bitching:
http://www.gamebanshee.com/interviews/109456-project-eternity-interview.html
http://kotaku.com/5942307/the-peopl...scape-are-making-an-rpg-that-sounds-fantastic
http://twofoldsilence.diogenes-lamp.info/2012/09/the-black-hound-what-its-deal-was.html

Regarding Steam, check the fucking FAQ:
How will I get my digital copy of the game?
We are still exploring the idea of offering number of options, but one of those is definitely going to be Steam.
Anyway, backed a small amount, they'll have to further convince me to give moar.

This was my thought. What kind of newfag couldn't set the rtwp to effectively run as turn based anyway? Maybe they missed the DOS interface and moving via the arrow keys?

While it may be bullshit and everything because the truth is simply "it's more accessible (i.e. marketable)", I must say Feargus' explanation in the GB interview appears pretty sound and reasonable to me. Again, it wasn't a deal-breaker in PST or DA for me so I don't see why it need be a deal-breaker right from the start.
