Kind of glad it isn't going to be "the Black Hound". I'm sure the story and setting is good, but it's such an awfully bland name. I know I might take flak for that one, but a game does sell pretty hard on its name. It's by no means the most important part, but like boxart, it's the first, if only, thing consumers see of the game.
It's no worse than "Dragon Age"
Well, to the average consumer - I'd guess - Dragon Age conjures up images of fighting mighty monsters and changing the face of the world, making your mark on the, well, age. The Black Hound sounds like an adventure game or something about a big dog annoying people in a backwoods village.

It's about a heroic voyeur, a Watcher, in a grimdark, gritty fantasy world. You can use magic, stealth or diplomacy to get behind those windows and ogle at those perky teats. Maybe you'll save the world, too, but only so some asshole villain won't ruin your voyerous lifestyle.

Edit: Goddamnit, skuphundaku.

Because when done right, and not to pander mouth-breathing dudebros, it can be a worthy, mature addition to a serious RPG universe?

So now I wonder, this would be JE Sawyers baby most likely? P.A. Fantasy setting ( I would love that)? High or Low magic? RTwP or Turn-Based?

Anyways that's my guess. And if it is the KS, I wonder if the codex would do another drive for it, and HOPEFULLY MCA would agree to do more codex trolls, because I missed out on that. :( :( :(

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
We know it's not KOTOR 3 but I can't help but dream of the game that could have been- the Exile and Kreia, in the foreign outer rim, meeting what remained after Revan had passed there... there's a lot of potential in that idea.

I am hoping for a Age of Decadence-like setting: at first, it may look like low fantasy, but if you look deeper you realize that it's, really, PA in a sci-fi setting.

<!-- There is no sleep for the Watcher. -->

:avatard:

I'm going to take this as proof that my idea that it is norse inspired is correct, mostly because I refuse to admit that I am wrong but also because the following.

Heimdallr requires less sleep than a bird, can see at night just as well as if it were day, and for over a hundred leagues
Heimdallr is attested as possessing foreknowledge, keen eyesight and hearing, is described as "the whitest of the gods", and keeps watch for the onset of Ragnarök
As for the whole word thing that some one pointed out resembled or was possibly some Celtic language, it could be set in the British isles in the Dark ages with a conflict between the native Celts and invading Saxons and Norsemen.

It's no worse than "Dragon Age"

Or "Elder Scrolls".

Bethesda cleverly market their games with two names, each aimed at a different audience.

"Elder Scrolls" is the name for the nerds and geeks.

The subtitle - Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim - is for the mass market.

world-saving bullshit

sounds more like a personal story about forced watching over someone/thing.

That honestly feels like a really interesting concept to build a game and story around. More like a story about you needing to protect the chosen one, but the chosen one is a wimp and annoying and will test your patience. But if you behave in the right way you will change that person, even if he/she will not be really useful until late in the game or in a later game. Deception should play a part, as would being anonymous.

I wish for a different setting than the one in AoD.
I already have AoD for that.

I rather have their take on an unique Planescapy game world.
A fertile land where one day the seed for the PST successor can be planted.
And where there is no sleep for the Gardener. (inb4 no sleep for the facebook farmer)
