Well, 4 levels already are mostly taken by the statue. Very tricky of Obsidian. Sorry guise, they're small because statue. :troll:

As there is no resurrection, how will the perma-death of the PC work? Game Over?

Most likely. Problem?

He said that they might give the option to disable perma-death. But it will be always enabled for Expert Mode.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's gonna be tenth level, just 1700 backers needed.

God I fucking hated it when there was instant game over when the main character died in BG. Was much better in IWD.

You know, it may just be because I started a new playthrough last week, but reading that GB interview made me feel like Sawyer's taking a lot of cues from Darklands for PE. Not just in how he likes the text menu interactions, or the HP/Stamina system (i.e Strength/Endurance) but the way he describes firearms and his hesitance to commit to different damage types (bludgeon, slash, etc).

I wouldn't be surprised if the basic combat system would be modeled around the Damage/Penetration/Attack Speed system that Darklands uses.

It's quite likely that, including Paypal, Project Eternity will surpass DFA today.

In fact, I'm quite sure that if he'd have his way, PE would be using a historical backdrop as well. Either way, taking pages out of the Darklands book is a serious :incline:.

You shouldn't fucking rest after every fight, jesus christ. It's a D&D game. What does a DM do if you rest after every fight? He's going to fucking kill you and your group of losers and find some players that aren't retarded to play with.
But I don't rest after every fight. Every 2-4 fights. Because y'know that's how we did it back when I played P&P because 2-4 fights actually takes quite a while when you're rolling and punching numbers manually. Then computer games had to go and fill up with trash mobs that work against the system.

Therefore the game should just have rocks fall on your head if you rest twice in, say, one real-time hour. There, problem solved. Jesus. I get so emotional when people put down the perfectly great Vancian system.
What a shitty DM. "Fixing" a flaw by throwing a temper tantrum.

Use fucking wands or fucking scrolls or fucking potions or fucking combat feats or your fucking crossbow (or better, cantrip wand). I swear, you people suck at D&D.
Wands and scrolls are for extreme emergenices or selling when they're no longer useful. What if I'm in an area where there's a 100% chance of rest being interrupted and no backtracking to a safe area and I used up all my decent items on trash mobs? What then? Better to always have a buffer for the unexpected.
