:bounce:

Last info on paypal was around 85K right? Now we only need 5000$/hour to reach 3.5M.

:bounce:
Needless to stress about 3,5M. It is a given, we WILL reach it tomorrow. They should make a stretch goal for 3,7 million.

SqueakyCat in Obsidian forums:
I just don't get the point. It's a single player game. If someone wants to run around killing everything, become overpowered, and essentially ruin their game (from my perspective), what difference does it make? Who is it hurting if that's how they like to play?

I prefer to explore everywhere and get experience as I make my way through the story and quests.

To each his own. Why is this so terrible? Why do we need to be forced to only have one option?

I dislike becoming overpowered too early on, but how is that hurting anyone else's gaming experience?

"An RPG is running around, killing things with your sword." (and leveling up and then killing some more with fancier colours)

A very strong demonstration of retardedness breeding retardedness.

And then we have the biofucktards with their romancing ponies being the essence of RPGs.

People are shit.

I think that killing an especially powerful monster or party could give some xp without fucking up the xp-mechanics.

Insert clever insult here
My exploration in Bloodlines wasn't hampered by the lack of monster-killing-XP. In fact, once you realized that, you were all the more motivated to find alternative methods to fighting.

Holy fucking shit. 2012 IS the year of fucking incline. wow.
You mean decline; they already seem to have talked Sawyer into reconsidering. I give up. Fuck this gay Earth.
What do you mean, "reconsidering"? The game mechanics?
Yes! Read this!

Sorry to duck out, but I need to prep for our D&D game tonight. Objections to the proposed XP system are noted. We're not finalized on any of this stuff; quest-based XP is just an idea that Tim and I are interested in pursuing.

So basically he's saying they're going to re-think it if there's enough whining, at least that's how I'm reading it in my rage. And of course the two largest FAGS in the thread are bro-fisting that post.

At least infinibrotron is fighting the good fight but I can tell he too is being consumed by rage and won't be able to post anything rational for much longer.

It's about design and reward. I like random stuff. Exploring. Wandering monsters. I like to wander on and off the critical path. I like gaining power at different rates of progression (you call it grinding, I call it enjoying the game's combat mechanics).

Well, you just need to post in Obsidian forum and tell them you love goal-xp.
Is this still in the AMA?

I dont see the problem they have...
They say this deprives them of the ability to run around and kill random encounters for XP. Their counter-argument to whatever objection we raise to that is: "Why remove it? Just don't abuse it if you care so much."

Instead of raging here you should make your voices heard over there, in the pits of the Obs forum.

I can't do this anymore; I have to throw up. Those dumbfucks.
WITHDRAW ALL MONEY. DUMBFUCKS RUIN EVERYTHING.
I'm one of the nicest people I know and I hope they all suffer horrible torment.

...

Granted I don't know a lot of people.
You're also a furry, which also explains your lack of friends...

I personally think XP should work both ways ESPECIALLY when you split combat and non-combat skills. Swing your sword and cut things? You'll obviously get better at it. Want to train a new type of sword fighting style? You have to buy the training. Want to level up your speech capabilities? Do some quests. Make it a mix between a system where you get all the XP in one go and have to assign it and a system where you level what you use.

That's Bull. They shouldn't bow to just 30 people when they have 65,000 backers in total and no publisher breathing down their necks. This is the one chance they have to implement this.

Fuck, I'd agree with them if the option for killing things was being taken from them entirely, but it's the fact that they DEMAND that their playstyle be rewarded with experience points that is giving me a headache.

"I demand to be rewarded with experience points for fighting in a pink dress! VALIDATE MY PLAY STYLE!"
