What makes you think they won't be rare creatures? In Heart of Winter, there were maybe about a dozen or so wailing virgins at most so they're fine with only using certain creatures a few times.
I would be surprised if there were a dozen wichts in the whole world of PE, given the circumstances leading to their creation
Given how Wichts are, it wouldn't surprise me if children of Wichts are also soulless. This could greatly improve their numbers.

...okay, that's a whole new level of disturbing.

I'm not sure there's any hereditary aspect to souls, though.

It could also just be one specific villain/adversary that uses wichts as his minion of choice because of their power/potential or whatever reason. He could have gathered them from all over the world over a period of time so their rarity wouldn't really be an issue when you start meeting them (or could even be a plot point - "Wait, I thought wicths were incredibly rare, why are we meeting so many of them?" And then you slowly find out throughout the story or just the current dungeon, depending how limited their involvement is).

So if they really are created by rape, no reason a prominent individual wouldn't have a proper soulless rape factory in his dungeon. Or just go raping around enough in a Liberia-like environment and they'll accumulate over time.

I think the rape thing was just Roguey trolling. There is no dev quote on that.

To what degree will Project Eternity emphasize "reactivity" and "choice and consequence" as compared with the RPGs inXile is developing? Are those things a focus at all?

I've been away from PE for a while, but as far as I know, reactivity to player choices is still a focus in that game. (That certainly was the case when I was actively working on the game, and I don't think it would have changed.)
With all Sawyer's talk about systems, you can forget that this is supposed to be a storyfag RPG with reactivity to your choices. i understand why he is doing it and i agree with him but still...
When i reread the kickstarter pitch recently, the game they described sounded diffirent than what had formed in my mind from the updates :D

This is ridiculous, you do understand that developing game systems is Sawyer's job and that he has little to do with story? Not to mention that good portion of updates was about setting that is definitely a part of storyfag's RPG. They are still claiming that they are focusing on the story but that they don't want to talk about it because of spoilers. Whether they are lying about that or not is beside the point, the point is that just because Sawyer isn't involved with the story doesn't mean that nobody is. I now get where all the butthurt about balance comes from, some people here think that Sawyer is tho only person who is working on the game and that he is the be all end all. If Sawyer isn't doing something nobody is.

Sawyer cares a lot about reactivity. Including reactivity created through systems. (Like factions)

I doubt it's going to be lacking in that department.

Josh reads what I wrote, sighs, and goes back to the drawing board.
Wait - So you're saying that Sawyer actually reads the codex?

How.... delightful....

Interesting. I wonder if he still feels that way.

Someone on Twitter told Jonathan Blow that you can just ignore these messages.
“This is false,” he replied. “We can't choose to ignore it. As soon as the words are read, they have already hit emotionally.”
You simply can't not take it to heart.
After dozens or hundreds of instances, it honestly doesn't have any effect.

Have you protocolized everything Sawyer has ever said with Evernote or something? Your knowledge of everything Sawyer is eerie, it's like you're his alter ego or something.

Well, nice to know that it doesn't bother Sawyer anymore when I call him bad names. :D
