inb4 there is no way to scrounge together enough evasion to reach the 75% cap with this Keystone enabled in the entire game without completely gimping your offensive capabilities. Reduced instead of Less sounds very manageable, but who knows what the numbers will look like (it's translated from japanese, so it might actually be Less). The big one-shot abilities you're supposed to manually dodge-roll might still be unaffected by Evasion.

Roided up version. Chaos Inocculation hasn't been shown yet. Would be amazing in PoE1 but who knows what kind of numbers we can get on Mana + ES.

Without PoE1 scaling damage conversion mechanics are going to be less potent. Might be a non-brainer for an off-hand spec where you deal mostly fire damage and swap to when your main element is being resisted.

I really hope that PoE 2 will make considerate movement more meaningful (and not include crap like Flicker Strike).

Nice Copium you got there, bro. Would be a shame if something happened to it.

j/k, it's not going to work like it does in PoE1.

Someone will have to farm the items, so I'm not seeing how anyone choosing to buy them is a problem.
Because this means the game is balanced around the people with the most money doing the farming. Which means the bosses aren't worth doing until they're not a challenge any more.

Alice and Bob both find a boss invite every hour. The boss drops 100 currency worth of loot.

Alice sells the invite to a rich meta player that farts on the boss and collects the loot in 3 minutes. He even gets bonus loot because of MF or modifying the map with more challenges or whatever, lets call it double. In exchange, Alice gets say 40% of that loot's value for the sale, in the form of currency to trade for exactly what she needs. Alice is making 80 currency per hour.

Bob fights the boss. Fighting the boss takes 20 minutes, several deaths that cost say 10 minutes worth of xp, and provides loot that can be traded for 100 currency... eventually. Trading all that loot takes another 10 minutes, and the whole reward is deferred by about a week on average as it takes time to find buyers. Bob is making 66 currency per hour. Supposing they each play 1 hour a day on average, after 1 week, Alice has 560 currency worth of new gear, while Bob has ~230 currency worth of new gear and ~230 currency worth of assorted crap waiting to be traded.

Alice is miserable because farming boss invites is boring and asks for power creep so she can fight the boss. The lvl 100 guy is miserable because farming the bosses is boring and asks for difficulty creep. Bob is miserable because his progression is painfully slow, AND he has to still farm the boss invites AND he has to spend time dealing with dickheads to trade stuff. He moans about it on RPGCodex and plays something else. The SSF guy is getting like 5 currency/hour worth of gear btw, because he can't use anything that drops since it's all hyper specialized.

GGG is happy because the rich traders/boss farmers that play the game 40 hours a week are free advertising for all their MTX every time someone has to deal with them. They add difficulty to the trash mobs that drop the invites and power creep to the top end gear. Now boss invites drop every 2 hours and the boss dies in 2 minutes, so the top end players seem even more prestigious.

:shitandpiss:
Sounds like the boss invitations are the problem. Don't have those.

Not sure if they've covered it in some interviews or videos, but they might simply make everything multiplicative (or rather, additive) for balance purposes - it already looks like that flat scaling is missing on all skills in PoE2, which they try to implement in PoE1 as well (with removal of flat damage on many bow skills/RF etc). What happened to D3 probably hasn't taught Jonathan et al. anything, I guess.

some decent sorc gameplay
dunno man, all that backtracking while raining fire doesnt look good.
Also spells seem to lack oompf that they had in poe1. There is no impact, no stun, as such whole thing seem lifeless.

dealing damage while walking should have been a build choice after all

They've changed their minds on the movement style I see. That's unfortunate.
I'm 95% sure that whatever pace you had in mind is better served by a proper 3rd Person View Soulslike or just a straight up turn-based isometric RPG.

It's not backtracking, it only looks that way because his character faces the direction his spells go. He's rushing ahead.

Not every slow paced game is a soulslike or needs to be one.
How many times are you going to repeat this non-statement?

If what you're seeing above is literally "too fast" for your taste, this entire genre isn't going to be for you for the next 10-20 years. Go look somewhere else.

He didn't even use any movement skills. Dude is minmaxing the speed of a turtle and you're already dooming. This is what I mean when I say that PoE2 is going to disappoint the normies or at the very least the copium huffers of this thread.

I think this looks cool, surprisingly enough. Are they going f2p live service thing again or are a box price?
when it releases (for real) it will be f2p with stashes/MTX/supporter packs to buy, just like current Path of Exile

since they're still at Early Access stage, they're will be some purchasable EA key to buy, or some threshold if you already spent a large amount of money in the game so far

Key is expected to be part of 30$ support package that will also give you shop points, some MTX and probably a forum title or something.

They said EA will be about 6 months. Also you are buying a standard supporter pack that also has EA key as part of it.
Also EA will not have full content so you are buying a true EA like you would on Steam.

I meant they backed out of WASD movement.

that clearly looked like wasd movement with character trying to face the mouse without breaking the animation

check the cursor during the bossfight at 2:20 while the character moves

Yeah, you can have WASD movement, but you can also choose mouse movement. You can see that in the very beginning of the video. Now there will be a "best" movement style instead of designing the game around one of them (WASD would've been more interesting).

Well... there would be a LOT of people mad if wasd is forced. They never even hinted wasd would be the only option.

That's part of the reason I wanted it to be the only option. All the changes they've made so far are an attempt to appease the prequel's fans, all the while trying to reassure us it's going to be a different game because PoE1 will continue development. The *worst* thing they can do is make PoE2 the "default" game going forward. It will alienate the olden guard too because some people have sunk quite a lot of cash into PoE1 which won't be reflected in 2 and are now forced to switch to the new game. GGG also won't attract new players like this, so who is the game for exactly?
