Yeah, you can have WASD movement, but you can also choose mouse movement. You can see that in the very beginning of the video. Now there will be a "best" movement style instead of designing the game around one of them (WASD would've been more interesting).

Well... there would be a LOT of people mad if wasd is forced.
That's part of the reason I wanted it to be the only option. All the changes they've made so far are an attempt to appease the prequel's fans, all the while trying to reassure us it's going to be a different game because PoE1 will continue development. The *worst* thing they can do is make PoE2 the "default" game going forward. It will alienate the olden guard too because some people have sunk quite a lot of cash into PoE1 which won't be reflected in 2 and are now forced to switch to the new game. GGG also won't attract new players like this, so who is the game for exactly?
GGG will for sure attract new players because PoE2 will have noticeably better production values than PoE1 and lot more unique experience than its direct competitor - Diablo 4.

Passive Tree 1 for exploding mobs fast while mapping

Passive Tree 2 for single target bossing
That will not work as they said you will only be able to branch 2nd tree with few points. Also with being able to have all skills be 6l you do not need to depend as much on passive tree and can just have both single target and clear skills to use.

WASD is what they've designed the game around after adding momentum to all the combat skills. Mouse click is still an option but everyone who has played it says it's suboptimal.

Isn't that the point of shared MTX between the two? Very few MTX won't transfer (skill MTX because the functionality of the skill has changed dramatically)
Not every slow paced game is a soulslike or needs to be one.
The game director compares Path of Exile 2's combat and boss design to Elden Ring every chance he gets.

I expect two complaints: RSI from the 16 hour a day streamers, and later on when piano flasking becomes necessary again, WASD is going to be balls. Eh, who am I kidding, they'll just use macros again.

There hasn't been a need for a flask macro for years now.

I do not know what? About one support rule? Hard to find upgrades for 6l?

That support gems in PoE2 do not have "30% more damage" on them.

That looks nothing like D3 in any way shape or form.
Did you play D3 before they've nerfed the difficulty? I had to maneuver in the same way on my wizard because almost anything past Ghom was one shotting me (after blizzard destroyed critical mass + energy shield + diamond skin combo).

I'll give them this, the game looks damned pretty and has nice aesthetics. Shame the gameplay looks to be the same old crap.

Gameplay looks nothing like old POE1. Even old POE1 beta isn't like this. Especially after they changed to WSAD movement.

The WASD thing is different, I'll grant. But you're still clearing out entire screens at once without needing to aim, mana and health are both still trivial to keep full at all times, and melee is still fucked over by area denial attacks at the boss' feet. I expect by the time you hit endgame other familiar annoyances will be back too, like enemies making unavoidable curtains of projectiles and loot being gated behind dps or movement checks.

Without actually playing you don't know anything.

POE1 had melee long time ago and it was working to the point it was pretty much what everyone played. It was later on with introduction of new defense layers and especially monster pack size patch that made it hard to play and adding non stop new timed mechanics made it strictly unplayable later on (vall temple is best example of that).

IF POE2 was just tuned POE1 like it wanted to be then i would agree but since then we don't know pretty much anything about game content, what kind of layers of defense will we get, how many uniques will be ported, how many skills etc etc etc. Since that change they also delayed POE2 a lot which means axe to mechanics is much greater than initial idea.

I wouldn't be shocked if there are no additional layers of defense outside of three main and block which would make balancing game content to various styles of play much easier.

I know you recover flask charges even during a boss fight, completely trivializing health recovery and ensuring the only real threats to the player will be one hit kills again. I know the sorceress was covering the entire screen with spammable magic attacks. It doesn't paint a good picture. It looks better than POE1, but not enough to make me excited for it.

You don't. At least not in the most recent vids that have been posted. Only the Ranger has a passive that recharges her flask without doing anything. I was kinda hoping they had removed Ward as a mechanic or have it only for specific skills rather than a blanket thing, though.
