Tier 1 and 2 look okay but the rest are way too flashy for my taste. The helmet is pretty bad as well and I'm usually one to like those types of masks.

was looking forward to make another curse ssf toon and it looks like they are being revamped.
Any news on bane? Seem to be getting another nerf. Curious if one can do pure cursing or need another skill.

In previous league was doing cold dot witch and liked cold+curse theme going in there. Didnt play bane since it was released.

I mean rule of the thumb is that new/revamped stuff is one of best in given league but there were exceptions

Check out Subtractem on Twitch and YouTube. Bane is like his baby. tl;dr: Bane is probably still fine, but it was never that great to begin with.
I got my first shaper kill with bane being like 70% of the total damage I think (soulrend as backup, but it doesn't have 100% dot uptime). This was way back in its first form though, it has been nerfed quite a bit since then.

I haven't done any deep analysis, but it should have taken a decent hit this league, despair is worse, and bane also gets less/reduced curse effect on all the curses it applies.

I'd like recommendations on good deadeye builds (SSF, league starter, obv).

If all you're going to do this time is yellow maps again, then literally anything is fine. If Deadeye and bows is an absolute must, then check out havoc's leveling/progression guide for Lightning Arrow. Ventrua played Lightning Arrow Raider in Ruthless last week and it looked as strong as a build in Ruthless can look.

havoc's old progression vid on LA

Ventrua's ruthless run (if it doesn't start at the correct place, it's around 1h35m mark):

my advice is to not care and just go with a flow. Perhaps let some unique help with a decision. Try out all the bow/wand skills as you go. Oh yeah, if you didnt think of wands Id highly advise to do them

looks like its going to be its 3rd nerf

I want a fairly smooth progression, and some skills are just kind of bad. If I end up enjoying the league I might push high reds and some endgame content. I have gotten to Sirus twice in the past when I enjoyed my builds.

Absolutely no requirement for bows, but I'd like a skill that can offscreen and bounce on walls for the league mechanic (also because it seems fun to shoot around corners). PoE can be really touchy about how far projectiles will travel though.

And of course, if the frozen statue skill looks like it will have decent QoL I'll just play that instead, but that is impossible to tell before gem reveal.

I did a corrupted blood kinetic blast gladiator two leagues ago. Was fun. But there aren't that many wand skills.

looks like we get +2 curse lvls from tree.
Bane doesnt have curse tag, just hex. However, we do get infinite hex duration in a tree. Does it mean that we can get infinite duration bane?

I'm starting to treat PoE like your average AAA game, I'll wait 3 weeks until they buff loot and fix the bugs due to complaining then I'll play, I have learned my lesson.

I played PoE when it launched. I remember the music in the starting town being pretty atmospheric (apparently the music was unlicensed and was removed years later).

The vast skill tree was an impressive marketing tactic, and just as deceptive as FFX's sphere grid. The vast majority of the skills were pretty inconsequential or outright useless. The same paths were mandatory and everyone wound up being the same. Another issue I had were the aesthetics. The game didn't looked very ugly and generic. The classes were men with axes and bowmen and people throwing fireballs. Contrast that with Diablo 3, which had the pretty visually distinctive class of the demon hunters, and the game was overall more appealing to look at.

Story is also a huge motivator for me and I just didn't care about what was going on in PoE. Seemed like everyone was some convict or otherwise unlikeable and the only towns are tiny shitholes, whereas in D3 you are a hero fighting to defend civilization and there are lots of characters who you don't want to see die, and if they did die you wanted to avenge them.

Music is still one of the best parts of the game, story is kinda went nuts after act 3 and then goes to eleven in later acts. Still got some good lore here and there but since a little amount of players cared about that GGG kinda stopped caring too.

I think I played too much with RF and used it a lot even in other tanky builds for extra damage. Still one of my favorite skill in any game tough.

I didn’t start playing it until Sentinel and now I don’t think I can ever play anything else. Doing Jugga this league I think

I'm starting Cold Dot Trickster. Haven't touched it since the rework and haven't played Cold Dot in general for a while now.

I wish I could somehow guarantee a pair of Haemophilias at lvl80-85, then a comfy CF Champ start could be viable in SSF. WoC Ignite into Vortex Ignite Elementalist looks tempting as well, but after starting Elementalist last league I'm not looking forward to dying a million times. Jugg RF looks sexy, but I want to hold that off until I get Maven boots and some leveling gear to offset the slow Jugg start.

I'm worried about the colors on the chest. Streamers will always play down these issues and even Pohx admits it's an annoying problem with few great solutions. On SSF it'll probably be even more of a headache.

Still going to do it because honestly a 4-link was fine for RF the last time I played it, but it's gonna be annoying on 5-6L I bet

Colouring your 6L is a nice problem to have on SSF. With the reversion of the nerfs to Tainted Fusings you might be able to get yourself some easy off-colour 6L for the early stages.

wanted to do hex build but then this new venom gyre looks cool...
It looked really shit to me, even GGGs cheat character can't clear screens with it.

Post ur build, if it's somewhat league start / SSF viable. An RF build has been on my todo list for a bit. The frost statues seem too tricksy, and I can't decide on projectile (maybe gyre anyway because apparantly gyre is meta friendly?)
