I wish the stats at least change what the capital storekeepers sell in their stores. Same shit since chapter 1 makes it kinda demoralising visiting them.
They improve their stock once, around chapter 4-5, but nothing good.
+6 to stats items is nothing good ?! Wtf..

There are several items of +8 to all 3 mental / physical stats, before Ch6 almost every partymember will have every stat boosted by at least 6.

This late in game you already have similar or better items for each party member.
I am pretty sure that as I finished Vordekai I didn't find a single +6 item and only got those from these vendors. Now as I am doing Armags quests, still only +6 items are those I bought. I did find a +4 to all mental stats item.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut Pathfinder: Wrath
Allowing Hargulka or Tartuk to keep their kingdom through the Chaotic dialogue option immediately removed the player from the dungeon, missing on possible treasure or resolving the Harrim's companion quest. Resolution: after striking an alliance with Hargulka or Tartuk, they now allow players to finish exploring the dungeon until they leave it on their own.

Oh, fuck you guys.

A little-known detail: if you let one of them live, the loot from the dead one will become a bit stronger to compensate for the missed loot from the other character. I.e. tartuk's amulet of natural armour will become +3 instead of +2, etc.
That's irrelevant; just saying!

It is possible to fix this, though, at least if you haven't progressed too far beyond it (I have no idea what could happen if you, for example, have gotten past the point where the second part of Harrim's quest would trigger). It's also extremely simple, assuming that you've got a basic understanding of how to find/extract your saves and have the Cheat Menu/Bag of Tricks mods installed. You'll also want Notepad++ with the JSTool Plugin, as well as 7-zip. These are such basic things to me that I won't cover how to get them, it's easy to work out and if you can't, you probably shouldn't be messing with the game to begin with:

  • Get the aforementioned mods ("Bag of Tricks" + "Cheat Menu") from the Nexus and install them using the Unity Mod Manager; launch the game.
  • Save your game somewhere not-stupid. So not in the middle of a dungeon or something.
  • Find the save you made, and extract it using 7-zip, just right-click, 7-zip->Extract to "bla bla bla".
  • Open the folder and open Header.json and Player.json in Notepad++.
  • Plugin->JSTool->JSFormat on both of them. This will make the file readable for people that aren't autistic robots.
  • Now, you need to find the entry "Area" in Header.json, which should be somewhere by the top, and "CurrentArea" in Player.json. There'll be a gibberish code there.
  • Now, you need to replace that code with the code for the second sublevel of the troll fort. I'm not sure if this changes from game to game, but in mine it was "8ad40376ad0a1a4499102c0755103a04". You may have to extract an older file from when you were in that area. You could also try to check the .json-files until you find the right one - every area should be saved in the save folder, with similar gibberish codes.
  • Save and exit. No need to re-zip the files or anything, the game can load the extracted save straight from the folder you made, even after using JSTool.
  • Boot up the game again.
  • Load your save (It will show two - the unextracted one and the extracted "folder" one; whichever one is the upper one should be it).
You should now find yourself in the basement. I will assume that you're going to be spawned in the middle of fucking nowhere, but if you can move around in the basement right away, just skip the teleportation part I'm getting to.
  • Open up the Mod menu. It should've launched when the game booted up after installing mods, and if it didn't, you've fucked up, and if you haven't set up a hotkey to open it again you're stupid.
  • Bag of Tricks -> Map & Travel -> Activate Teleport.
  • Teleport to near the anvil. Hotkey can be changed under Key Bindings.
  • Now go to the "Cheat Menu" mod. One of the buttons is "Quests".
  • You should be able to see Harrim's failed quest, and there should be a button there for restarting it.
  • Restart it.
  • Touch the Anvil.
  • Leave the dungeon.
  • Never come back.
And they lived happily ever after.

Yes, this took me a long-ass time to work out, because apparently 90% of my playtime is supposed to be dedicated to working around their fucking bugs, but it's caused zero issues since.

I did find a +4 to all mental stats item.
Belt +4 to all physical is in Vordakai chapter. It's on Dugath along with +5 greatsword.
I didn't kill Dugath, playing a good character. Also still not a +6 stat item.

You can get a +8 mentals (+24 total) immediately by DDing past the barrier in the Drowned Barrows, early Ch2 prob.

You get a +6 mentals guaranteed after coronation, in Ch5 you get spammed by them.

It's on lich iirc, so no, not chapter 2. Some endgame weapons from chest - sure, but hat already has angry owner.

You're right, the hat is on the lich himself. +M

I killed the lich in late Ch3 though, someone better can probably do it in Ch2.

Yes, it's +12 combined.
In Armag chapter you have access to all world map excluding Pitax and Voices. Single stat +6 items is not something rare.
Not it is not. I got a +4 on two stats items, I cast a 24 minute spell that gives me +4 to 3rd start. That +4 on three stats is worth less than +6 on one for some of my characters, especially casters. Only way to get EARLY +6 to Int, Wis or Cha is to buy the items from the vendors.
You tried but you cannot prove that vendors don't have useful and good items for sale.

I didn't find any lich. But I didn't explore whole area of Varnhold chapter as I was afraid of the timer so I just explored what was on the way to Vordekai place.
And for Armag, I also don't waste time exploring everything when I got a timed main quest to do.

It's 5-6 nodes east of the capital, not near Vordekai, location is Lonely Barrow.

Ok, I found that one. It asks for me to kill monsters to open it or something. I assumed I need to kill specific ones and I can come back there much later.

Yeah, but you can dimension door past the barrier and skip the busywork.

That assumes I have Dimension Door which I don't :D
My solo arcane caster is a Sorcerer and at lvl 4 there are already plenty of good spells to pick.

For this price it's useless. You will see real shops just in next chapter. And you will be glad you have some money with you. I think Pitax traders have both belt and headband of perfection +6 for sale.

Quests
  • Tristian's the "Saving Grace" quest was available even if the "Hour of Rage" quest was completed prior to the "Betrayer's Flight" quest. Resolution: fixed. If players already get the "Saving Grace" quest, they will keep it.
I don't understand this decision by the writers at all, really.
Amiri's quest has a time-sensitive element to it that matters to the character and to the progression of her quest
because Nilak can die, and she gives the trigger for the next stage of the quest.
Tristian's quest does not have a time-sensitive element to it that matters to the character or to the progression of his quest
because his whole issue is "I need time to process what I've done," and the next stage of his quest is not time-sensitive at all. Unless he just gets too sad and lonely without you chasing him?
I mean, I think they were going for a Witcher-esque "no good option" choice, but I don't think it works in practice.
The Tristian-Jaethal conflict is much better-executed.

I need a break from this shit. Pitax was disappointing and I can feel the game is slowly falling apart.

Also, the game constantly reminds me why I still prefer IE games (Except ToB). It's authenticity. Or at least some attempt at it.

Castle in BG2 - some bloke copied castle architecture from NatGeo magazine or whatever. And it worked.
Castle in Neverwinterfinder - a rectangle to be filled with monsters and loot.

Items in BG2 - you can find epic loot on liches and buy it in the magical & spooky Underdark.
Items in Neverwinterfinder - you can find epic loot in a barrel or buy it from a late game fun fair merchant.

Yes, I am butthurt over weird things.
