Hm... went to 4chan V board. Apparently there are shit ton of fan art to Kingmaker. Also possible leak about Wrath of the Righteous.... I think it's 70% valid. We shall see!

How the fuck do you deal with Mandragora Swarms with a melee heavy party? What a retarded enemy design, but I guess in this game, it fits right in.
Use AoE scrolls with UMD? Sneak around it? Use Invisibility potions?

Edit: Have undead summons or Jaethal tank it. Or return to start of this area and add other characters into your party that can deal with it if you got no other way. There is no time limit in this chapter.

There IS a time limit, since every fucking day you get those dipshits attacking your kingdom and whittling down kingdom stats.

Jaethal doesnt get strength drained, but you can't exactly heal her efficiently, so she goes down fast to the swarm. What finally worked was just summoning a shitload of random crap and praying. Just managed to kill all 3 swarms before the entire party died out. My main's strength was down to 9 from 32. What a shit enemy.
No there is not, once you are in her house there is no longer any kingdom. And what kingdom stats you might lose matter little when all you need to do is rest a few extra times when changing party to beat whatever is blocking your progress.

Last time I had to fight 4 mandragora swarms, I used Obsidian Flow (not sure if ideal) to slow them down, tanked them with Okbo and 3 summons (plus Jaethal if you have her), and I rained fireballs (not sure if they did much) and alchemist bombs (those were great) on them. I am not sure if you are there yet, this fight is in HATEOT. There are (fewer) mandragora swarms before HATEOT as well.

Insert Title Here Pathfinder: Wrath
Imagine tanking with black man and not dead girl...

I don't have to imagine. Been doing it all game. His dog, not him.

Dead girl casually offed her family and wants to do the same to her own daughter.

Fuck her.

Tar Pool is probably good as well. Keep 'em tied down and nuke 'em.

My favorite was Creeping Doom for swarm on swarm action.

Jaethal was unfortunately not available in HATEOT for me, for story reasons. I am going to have a "talk" with Tristian about it in this playthrough. Okbo is not too bad against mandragora swarms, it takes a few rounds for him to go down.

The way Alignments are defined and used in Kingmaker, made me realize one thing. I am comfortable with Kingmaker's Evil, but I often have issues with Chaotic. I am Lawful Neutral in Pathfinder's world, although the Lawful part is probably because I have to run a Kingdom.

Jaeitafu is best. Having her becoming human SUCKS when you are in HATEOT (she loses all undead abilities for... 3 or 4 healing spells, sheeeeet). Just kill Cuckian (who is useless anyway late game).

They just agreed to disagree so I got them both. They each mention you being merciful to the other as the reason they stayed their hand, so shouldn’t be difficult to manage. Might want to bring each along for the other’s companion quests just in case.

Shitmaker is not hard in any decent way, it's just retardedly tedious and punishing in stupid ways.

Examples of good difficult: Ultima Underworld with its intelligent puzzles or Dark Souls with its requirement to learn enemy patterns.

Examples of terrible difficult: Random enemies that bypass your game-long defenses (AC) by draining stats, while at the same time being damage sponges. Or random enemies with way too high AC for your party's level, just so you have to buff the shit out of your party.

Nonsense, you can control the game's difficulty yourself. It's highly customizable in that regard. You don't need to try hard.

He’s being sarcastic.

I’m not! I’m new to this stuff, I come from consoles. I got a taste with ELEX, now Underrail, and soon Disco Elysium. Maybe next year I’ll be like, “hurrr burrrb my crit axe build supplicates the status ailments of teh black widow boss but I need to carry the 1 and hurrrb burrrrrrb” but right now I’m relegated to quick quips and porn gifs.

Don't look too much into it. Half the battle is coming up with a competent build. Other half is just picking your fights.

Your fabulously optimistic effort to save Tristian from my wrath is admirable. It is a hopeless endeavor, however. I have already focused on building Harrim this time.

Dark Souls with its requirement to learn enemy patterns.

It blows my mind that you enjoy Dark Souls gameplay, while at the same you hate the Kingmaker's fights that throw surprises at you. This element is exactly the same element in both games, and obviously it is even more developed in Dark Souls. However, it annoys you here, and you love it in Dark Souls. Incomprehensible.

Try shit and keep doing what works. Stop doing what doesn’t. Less snark more joy of discovery. Not hard.

There are a bazillion ways to solve each problem but also a bazillion and two ways to suck. Sucking less is fun.

I’ve logged five times as many hours with Harrim as I have with Tristian. Why not build all your companions and slot them in for different tasks?

I’m not trying to save him from your wrath, I’m trying to save you from a callow conception of good and evil.

Callow? Dante places traitors at the very depth of the ninth circle of hell. I happen to agree with Dante on this one.

Well, one of the main differences (besides the ton of useless overhead in Shitmaker), in Dark Souls you generally have all the tools with you, and they are pretty obvious, it's just a matter of putting them together in various ways. In Shitmaker, it's completely random, oh maybe for this random enemy you suddenly need this party member that you haven't used in 20 years, or some spell that you never grabbed, or some scroll or potion. Or maybe you didn't realize this quest had a timer, and now your kingdom is fucked. It's way more annoying.

I did get frustrated with some enemies in Dark Souls, but overall, it's a waaaay better game.
